Lol i know what your getting at believe you me , the last thing you want to do is make a late payment i understand that for certain . Also if you make a late payment sometimes that 0% interest gos buy buy instantly which would be a bad thing depending on the crazy interest rate they are charging you/me .

I would still call though just to be on the safe side as waiting for the mail sometimes can be a huge mistake. once you get all the official info your golden and you can just start mailing out checks with your account info on them ahead of time just to be safe.

You should have 30days from when the machine shipped before the first payement was even due . So it sounds to me if im understanding you correctly that you already made a payment ?.

I did the same thing. Ordered from Newegg. Hell, my 4gb ram got here before the laptop :)

Just waiting for the price to come down on the 8GB - those 4gb chip prices are nuts.

I've seen some threads here stating that some folks have overclocked the Q9000 to almost 2.5 GHz ... is this possible? If so, what do I need to do?

OK. So i know its going to be a few days before i get the m17 but i have a few questions before i get it so that i know when i do get it.

    1. the m17 is coming with a 160 gb drive running at 7200 rpm and i have a 160 gb that only runs at 5000 rpm, i was wondering seance there is a difference in rpm i probably cant run them in raid right? if not no biggy i don't mind having just 2 hard drives in it :p

    2. i have seen the battery life of the m17x but i haven't seen a battery life for the m17, what kinda battery life am i looking at for this laptop if i have it on for just web web surfing and if i pump the power up to max for gaming what kinda life would i have?

    3. when the time comes for me to install a 2nd video card and run them in crossfire will i have to get a new heat sink and everything or is the 2nd heat sink there already just not connected to anything? if i need the new heat sink and all would it be better to go ahead and buy it from alienware and have them send a tech out to install it that way i get to keep my warranty anyway?

i think that's all the questions i have for now but if i have more at least i know where to come to find out :p thanks in advance guys :)

    1. don't raid it.

    2. the battery life maybe 2 and a half maybe 3 hours doing light work. since you have a stock basic syste,.

me with a qx9300 and crossfire. i was 1:10 doing lght work and i never gamed on the battery so i can't tell you that.

3 it's easy and the heatsink is already attached to it so you don't have to look for a new one.

    1. Yeah, don't raid them, just use the second HDD for more storage.

    2. You'll be lucky to see 1 1/2 hours of battery life. It will be more like an hour.

    3. The heatsink you need is already there, but when you get your second card you will need to also purchase a crossfire cable.

    you know whats interesting,
the q9000 goes for about the same as the q9200 on ebay.
but u can clock the q9200 up to 2.93ghz and the q9000 only to 2.4ghz

The last 2 listings from Shirley were $450. In the 2nd to last one he said he can't go back down to 400 when someone asked. I just bought one at 450 and don't feel bad. I'd say get them well you can, still a great deal compared to dell's price.

My dad is a global manager for an automotive firm, its hilarious, when he goes out to china to inspect they all have "english" names. one of his factorys named themselves after someone brought in a copy of pride and predujice!

    its hilarious lol
