Wouldn't work for me, my arms are growing at a ridiculous rate...
-
and my wallet is losing weight at the same rate
-
My moms bank account is gonna be drained faster than your wallet is losing weight and arias arms are growing.
-
Wont they have a No Intrest for 1 year
when we buy these Highend laptops -
The fine print says that promotion only applies to well qualified customers :/ I got my money from Capital One. Lower interest rates...
-
My concern with the 15.4 inch m15x is going to be the thermal constraints.... how on earth are they going to cool that monster? We all know that the Core2Duo runs slightly warm, and those graphics cards are (as a guess) not cool when it comes to heat.... how are these laptops going to be cooled?
-
If you asked me, what u need to be concerned with is just your deep pocket, rather than worrying about the laptop. Coz they don't simply built it, they tested it run it thoroughly to assure it made all the way to us, customers. -
I don't think that Alienware is going to get in the predicament they got into when using the Clevo chassis for the m5550 and m7700. These were heat machines and I don't believe Alienware is even using anything based on the Clevo chassis anymore. They've learned their lesson.

smaller chips= cooler

I wish we could do this on Alienware
CES 2008 Video news - Optimus Maximus keyboard
http://pcnews.tv/701/ces-2008-video-news-optimus-maximus-keyboard/ -
yeah i would hope derred is right on this one....Alienware could have easily launched this thing earlier, but I'm hoping the extra wait is just for that fine tuning and making sure that it's going to blow our minds away....without my lap. lol!
and i saw that optimus maximus keyboard yesterday - it was AWESOME.....although the $460 price tag is what makes me question how much I really want it... -
in few years those will definitely be available in notebooks.
-
-
Trust me when we paying $5000 & up for laptop with lights
people will pay the Extra $500 for it
I belive -
Who says im paying 5000$
With the base price @ 1400$ im not paying **** over 2.6k
-
haha lordvader if you have the budget for a $5,000 laptop, then I envy you!
But I just saw the link the user "Alienwarez" posted in the forum about the m15x being open only to subscribers...I saw the CNET video and the only thing the Alienware Rep said was that they will be launching the m15x "this friday through their subscriber database." I think that is almost exactly what he said.
He said nothing about it launching with a single pre-configured system or having limited availability...
Don't they always send out messages to all their subscribers when they have new product launches? I assume it would be the same thing this time around as well - the newsletter is their way of publicizing, and the launch htis friday will be a full launch to everybody.
I would be very shocked if their home page doesn't display the m15x this Friday. -
we can only hope and wait.
-
Sweet loving god, please provide us with the satisfaction that we all want: the Alienware m15x. O allmighty, bless us with your creation this friday.
Amen. -
Amen!
14 more hours until Friday! -
I hope they put up the config page at midnight... I won't be able to order tomorrow but I'm dying to to see the prices and find out how much this thing will cost me!
-
This is worse than christmas eve...
-
I agree.. I keep the forum up in case someone posts something new. This wait sucks
-
Here you go guys!!

-

-
Expensive too. Definitely more than I expected...
-

-

Holy ****! I just asked a customer rep the dimensions of the m15x and they are:
Height: 1.30”
Width: 14.55”
Depth: 10.73”
Weight: 7 lbs
Wow, that's much better than most people thought they'd be! -
all these yrs it has & looks Bad
All mostly like there laptops in Black & Diff colours if possible
White would be nice -
That'd be cool. You don't see too many white laptops.
-
Let's keep this in one thread shall we? Otherwise I'll have to jump between 4 threads lol
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Alright, man. A lot of people said the m15x would be too bulky and thick so I made this thread just so they know how incredibly thin it is (same thickness, less than some) other 15" notebooks.
-
No offense michael
It just got really hectic, lol
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
None taken
.
-
OMG YES!!! this is amazing... Its thinner than the m9750!!! best news ive heard so far.
-
apples macbook lol
Its like the signature teenager-from-a-wealthy-family-who knows-nothing-about-computers laptop... haha not to say that some mb users arent intelligent its just most are completely computer illiterate in anything other than ilife
-
Not bad at all. I was just viewing the m15x site and I was especially suspicious because nowhere do they mention the physical dimensions or weight; it made me think that they weren't mentioning them because they wouldn't be flattering.
I really do wonder then why they aren't touting this; the thickness and weight are excellent (pretty remarkable for a machine that can have an 8800M GT and Core 2 Extreme. You'd think they would be at least including it somewhere on the site (unless I'm missing it).
But this seems very good....... although with Asus showing off the Penryn G1Sn update with a GeForce 9500M, I'm curious when Alienware will offer the 9xxx series mobile GPUs in this. -

i just noticed theyre providing a covering cloth too for their m15x. probably to keep cleaning all the fingerprints it'll get
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I'm sure they will in the future. There won't be a faster card than the 8800M GTX for atleast a year when the 9800 cards come out. The 9500M won't be faster than the 8800M GTX for sure.
-
^^I agree but, gee, no penryns?
-
Is that something that we could upgrade to later? Or does that require a different mobo?
-
wait what? there is a functional 9500m? and no penryns are supposed drop in compatible with the m15x
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
No, the m15x uses MXM so you can replace the video card in it to something faster.

but i just saw at the acer forum that the 9500m GS is almost equivalent to the 8600m GS. It just runs a bit cooler. so still the 8800m GT should out perform the 9500, althout the 9800m GT should be worth a look whenever it comes out for lappies
