I love the p9700 processor. 2.8ghz and low 25 watt power. Great speed and low heat and extended battery life what a great combo.

Lets not forget that if this is typical Alienware they will introduce this new laptop months before you can actually order it. Then it will take months to get the first batches once its available to order so it may be christmas before any of these new notebooks actually land. Lets hope not though as my M9750 is getting a little long in the tooth and I could use a new treat for myself.

I am hoping they WONT do this, and some signs indicate they wont, the removing of two laptops, the price decrease of the remaining two, etc. I wonder what the chance of them just announcing vs actually having it available for ordering.

Of the 3 the P9700 has the best chance of being offered.

I think AW likes being able to advertise their systems running the Extreme processors even though they don't allow for overclocking, and the T9900 and Q9100 would interfere with sales of the X9100, and the QX9300.

The T9900 offers the same clocks as the X9100 for $300 and 9w less, while the Q9100 has the same cost as the X9100 and is only .26Ghz slower than the QX9300...which AW charges $400 more as an upgrade over the X9100 on the M17.

Lol. All powerful. Right? Love the hype. If Alienware actually spent money on creating the laptop than just hyping it up. They might actually be good.

...check the timer. might be a mistake on alienware/dells part. But it reads 90 days. So new speculations incoming?

No it doesn't. German, Italian and Norweigan says 90 days too. I think I'm going to cry if this is a new timer.

We don't know for sure, but i can tell you from past experience:
The day you can order on may be months from the day the first systems ship to consumers.

that, and alienware is usually late with the first ones ordered. The first few may be within as month, but after that they can get backlogged for months.

I ordered my m9750 in early May of the year it came out and did not get it until mid July.

Hopefully one of the benefits of the Dell merger will be faster production. Dell is usually pretty quick to ship systems, hopefully alienware will follow suit.

Not too unusual for a new high end gaming rig.

Remember how long Xotic PC was taking "pre-orders" for the W90 and the Clevo with the 280m GTX?

Hey, sorry for the butt in!

I'm quite sure it'll be Core i7 based processor!
'Cause "Sager" will release Core i7 next week, so....
Alienware will definitely do the same.

Same to GPU, Sager already released GTX/GTS 200 Series for mobility, I even read it on nVidia's website.

I wanted to order M17 today, but I found out about this, mighty Allpowerful thing of Alienware's. I decieded to wait, I hope my waitin will have a point, and "80 days left" countdown isn't true!

did i say it was a desktop?

and yes if it comes out in 8 days it will but that does not mean allpowerful is i7

besides if it was why would they release it on the same day as another company ???!?!?!?!?!? so they can have competition?

I don't know. And if allpowerful isn't i7 it'd would a big failure for Alienware.
They can't stick with Core2 processors for ever (It been couple of years with it now) they should change it with the high-end new processor. As its 50% better and cheaper.

And if it really came as i7 it might be a competition....

your logic is extremely poor sorry

montevina platform is more then enough for any game out right now

and why would it be a failure?
90% of games are a GPU bottleneck anyway

show me a core i7 that is 50% cheaper then a qx9300 please

you REALLY need to see how big of a heatsink is in the sager 9820 ...( the laptop is huge!!!)
125w is alot to cool in a notebook
and again how many montevina laptops are there and is a qx9300 not high end ?

Jeff...how would it be a failure for alienware? Sticking a desktop i7 in a laptop is overkill and actually turns out to be more costly since they have to design a heat management solution in a much smaller form factor. And not to mention, battery life would be sh** .. like Mr. Moo mentioned the QX9300 is enough powerful as it is for current games.

Now the first question, honestly not everyone would be willing to buy a brick (the 9820) .. there are people who care for the brand name and the looks, they will seek alienware to fullfill their needs. Even with a QX9300, the allpowerful would be one of the few gaming laptops to have it. And like I already mentioned not everyone would go for a brick, I mean honestly alienware is so frikkin cool .. power + looking radical = im owned.

The Core i7-920 is $284 dollars while the QX9300 is priced at $1038. That's much more than 50% ;) Even the Core i7-965 Extreme Edition is cheaper than the QX9300.

and is it really going to be 90 days, or whatever? if they offer a better gpu for a similar price, i might cancel my w90... (but i doubt it, the price that is).

    Hopefully GDDR5.

The countdown is bugged and it's memorial day weekend so expect it to stay bugged until tomorrow. It's not a major enough issue to call someone in to fix on a holiday weekend. ;)
