This is what I see on my hive, Alienware Command Center v1.0.17M . Is this the new one?
-
Nope thats the good old one.
-
hmmm, for the first time, the US site is behind?
haha.
-
It can not be found on My Hive the way you update is by opening CC and then it will tell you there is a update available. If that dose not work, then if you have a M15X ripely case then you can download the install package that is stated in the OP that I have updated, or previous quote.
-
GOOD NEWS GUYS... I AM SOOOOO EXCITED
Will share more information later... keep guessing

This doesn't work in XP does it?
I can't find the file in dwends instructions. I don't have AppData in my user profile.
Help <3 -
Make sure you can see hidden files since appData is a hidden folder.
In XP, To see hidden files:
1. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
2. Click the 'View" tab.
3. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders. -
My bad.

Can someone upload that somewhere else, my school blocks it :< -
downloading and installing in just a bit here, thanks I would never have caught this.
-
BTW if you download that file I posted you must follow the Guide in the OP, because that is the self extractor.
PMed you Napbree -
I downloaded using dwend's link 3 times and every time it tells me it can't extract the files because of either low disk space for swapping files or it has a corrupted Cabinet file... anybody have a workaround? Can't seem to find it on Alienware.com' site either so this sorta killed my buzz.

UP, Found it in my hive!!!!!!
It is under: AREA-51 M15X 15" WXGA+ W/CAM SIL-RIP-PNT R1
it calls it "Alienware Command Center v1.0.24.0M" But will download the 1.28sp1.
32bit users:
http://support.alienware.com/Support_Pages/Restricted_Downloads/Command_Center_1028_SP1.exe
^should install with out the need of the Guide.
The webcam Driver update for Sense can be found on My hive as well. Called "M15x Webcam 30625". It says to install this before the CC update.
http://support.alienware.com/Support_Pages/Restricted_Downloads/Mobile/m15x/Webcam_m15x_30625.EXE
I wish my hive was easier to navigate and showed when the drivers were uploaded, with the newest one at the top.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -

Hey Guys,
Ok - 3 problems here after installing the new CC without any problems at all...
I havent posted 15 times so its not letting me post any URLS so just copy and paste PLEASE!
1. I got this popup during install:
geoffwatsondesign.com/webcam.jpg
2. I get this popup when closing AlienFX after viewing the Sense
geoffwatsondesign.com/popup.jpg
3. When I click "Touch" it simply loads nothing at all..... mind you in the past I have uninstalled my driver so that I could type without lag. That uninstall also disallows me to scroll with my trackpad now...
Suggestions? -
You are running on Windows XP. Have you installed .Net Framework 3.5
-
I just downloaded the Framework and when I ran the install it said "Repair" or "Uninstall"... so I can only assume I do have it.
I'm repairing it now though so we'll see how that goes.
PS - what part of India are you from? I lived in Calcutta (Kolkata) a year ago for 1 month at Mother Teresa's. I really want to go back. -
I am from Delhi but working in Bangalore
-
re-installed framework - same problems... could it be because i removed my trackpad drivers? or that i have the x27 BIOS? I need to upgrade that...
-
Ohhh man...
first update the BIOS that is the first this that I will do.
get the x32 here -
Try this...
Copy the following file C:\Program Files\Alienware\Command Center\AlienSense\FAAWElevator.dll
to
C:\Program Files\Alienware\Command Center\FAAWElevator.dll -
yeah that actually seemed to get rid of that error! thanks, haha.
Still can't seem to access the Touch area though. It just doesn't load. I'm guessing thats because I uninstalled the trackpad drivers long ago. -
Something different but it's the command center..
My Alien head just died.... but only on the color red..
any idea anyone.. software issue ? (still old version CC) M17X -
The command center installed fine for me, I have framework and everything.
The only problem is that the Sense application isn't working. It doesn't let me install the update from the website or the link provided. Every time I go through the extraction and install process (right after I hit Allow) I get this message:
Line0 (File "C:\Users\MyAccount\AppData\Local\Temp\IXP001.TMP\Install.exe"):
RunWait($DEVCON & "rescan","",@SW_HIDE)
Error: Unable to execute the external program.
The system cannot find the file specified. -
-
Do I need to install .Net Framework 3.5 before I let CC update if I have Visat 32? Or is it only XP users that need to do this?
-
smooth as butter! After updating command center is lightning fast and alien sense and touch work perfectly! And i dont have any more weird alienFX glitches
-
I want to go back to the old version. This update increased start up time for me by a lot. Also, when I try to turn off facial recognition, it still shows the camera at start up for a quick second before letting me log in. Findvikas, is there any way for me to get back to the old version? I'm x64.
-
See my GUIDE I have updated it for both command centers and formatted it in different sections.
EDIT: You need to uninstall Command Center and Webcam driver, then follow my CC guide for old CC. -
I installed .Net Framework 3.5 and then ran CC but CC doesn't update. So, I'm still stuck with the old version. Can't find the download in My Hive (UK site). Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks -
there's an RS link somewhere in this thread i think.
-
That worked a treat. Many thanks.
-
is it me or Alienware removed the CC update and Webcam update from MyHive? I saw them this morning and now they are gone... the direct links provided by dwend are broken too. Just wondering...
-
yes they are broken, Will look into it.
-
I don't know, but maybe AW took it off the Hive for a reason.
-
<.<
I can haz conspiracy theory?
Or maybe new drivers? -
-
I think they might be compiling the webcam update as well as the .net 3.5 into one install, so less confusion.
-
Maybe they adding something more?
-
Dunno what they are doing but they should definitely fix the latest AlienFX bios. It has bugs
-
I guess they realized that it wasn't quite ready yet.
-
so should I go ahead with the install or wait it out?
