that is correct, any smaller resolution than 1920x1200 I get black bars all around, I am currently using some ati drivers windows update gave me... they work okay i guess... with these I only get black bars all around with resolutions higher than 1200x800 and smaller than 1920x1200.

Now that I am using 9.6 I get the same results as before, the only difference is now GPU-Z says that crossfire is [Disabled (Crossfire Available) (Unsure on Vista64)]
Hmmmmm, I looked in CCC and I see no way of enabling crossfire. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance. -

to disable crossfire you can disable catalyst AI. or you can pull the crossfire plug.
-
I said "enable" but nevermind, I rebooted and that fixed the crossfire issue, but alas, i still do not have full screen scaling

With current drivers, you need to go into the display settings and select the scaling method (full screen, 1:1 or preserve aspect). From what you're saying it sounds like it may be set wrong, Im presuming you've checked this though?
The setting is actually under the monitor settings, not 3d etc
Preserve aspect ratio is usually the best choice as it'll zoom without stretching the image unexpectedly, so you'll only get some black bars, not all black bars. -
scaling options is greyed out in ccc and set on full screen
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
You have to edit the inf for it.
i don't remember the code for it though. -
Does anyone know?

Why was E-Wrecked banned ?
I wanted to start a project for Windows 7 and 4850s cards ... -
He wasnt banned thats just a "title" anyone can use. He sold his M17 a while ago so i doubt hes in the mood to mess with drivers, especially without having the hardware to test them on.
-
Right, I am NOT funny^^
Greetings
Julian -
Glad to see that you are still here Julian, I can't imagine how much your drivers was usefull to me ...
Anyways, you mind giving me a hand to start something for the 4850 ?
I'll do the test =) -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
what do you need? I can't do scaling although I heard it's easy but I can do alittle performance tweaking on it.
-
BTW I guess my project is kinda dead ... ATI finally released Drivers for Radeon Mobility :
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx -
Lol you can still tweak them
go to donotargue.com -
actually those drivers are from september and are beta. Last I heard was that once win7 went public there would be no more mobility drivers (hence no 9.10 or 9.11)
-
So where are the Ewrecked drivers? The link in the original post is dead.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
when I get home I have to see if I see any thing left from my whitebook days. -
Hm I'll take a look on my external, maybe there are still some relicts
Ähm ... what should I search for? 9.3? or all I can find (with a E in it's name)
Greetings

9.12 mob-modded still won't scale to full screen until 1280x800-ish. Crysis looks like a bag of a$$ scaled at that res. Is there a fix for this yet?
-
Your post confused me, how can it not scale but look ugly when it does ? Except if it does in the first place
Also, yes every game will look crap if you dont run it at native resolution and will get worst the further down you reduce the resolution. -
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
It makes perfect sense. The driver won't scale to full screen until you hit 1280x800. Any resolution before that, and you're playing in a box. I'd like to scale from maybe 1680x1050, or around there.
-
the driver scales rez that haves a 1/1 ratio so 4:3 or 16:9 rez won't streech to full screen only 16:10 will
-
Change your screen resolution to 1280x800. Go into CCC and select Desktops and Displays. Right click on the little computer and select configure. Under scaling options select Full Screen. Click apply then change your resolution back to 1920x1200 and play your game. -
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
Yes, it does scale once I select the 1280x800 option. I was only noting that though. I actually want to play it at 1680x1050. The trick you just spoke of doesn't work for that resolution. Thanks for the help.

into [ati2mtag_M76_SoftwareDeviceSettings] of C7_XXXXX.inf (for Win7) or CH_XXXXX.inf (for Vista) and reinstall driver. -
Can I download e-wrecked driver please? The link is damaged.
-
You really want to use drivers one years old ?
-
Yes I just attach 3870 to m9750 and get no display in normal mode. I think I need driver for windows xp sp3 please
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
yeah if i was you i would use the new 9.12 ati drivers. they have a big performance difference in them compared to the 8.12 one's.
-
I cannot install them in safe mode, it says I have the wrong type of card... what may causing this?
-
you have to mobility mod the msi file first before installing.
http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool.php -
I didn't know you can install driver in safe mode.
Safe mode is usually used to remove old driver. -
& am also getting Balck bars on the side
(playing GTA 4)
No Full Screenis that Normal for everyone ?
Or if there a way to play the Games in Full Screen ?
Please Help -

Can someone suggest which other Older drivers working better & easy to Install on AW m17
9.9 or 9.10 where we dont need to Mod
PLEASE
Its so confusing Ati dont approve of Mod
But thats the only way to Install the drivers
Why is that ? -
so is it best to use the newest ati drivers and mob mod them or to use ewreked ones?
-

@ibraveheart
ATI currently don't support mobility cards due to agreements in place with laptop providers. The 10.1 betas floating around actually do have some mobility series support.
ATI also supported the mobility cards in thier Win7 RTM drivers before Win7 went to retail, but then said agreements came back into force.
They've said they're hoping to roll mobility support into the reference drivers this year, dependant on manufacturer cooperation.
@Shiraz - unless you NEED features from E-wreck's collection, use mobility modded drivers. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
ATI supports mobile parts still....just not as current as their desktop support
