that is correct, any smaller resolution than 1920x1200 I get black bars all around, I am currently using some ati drivers windows update gave me... they work okay i guess... with these I only get black bars all around with resolutions higher than 1200x800 and smaller than 1920x1200.

Now that I am using 9.6 I get the same results as before, the only difference is now GPU-Z says that crossfire is [Disabled (Crossfire Available) (Unsure on Vista64)]
Hmmmmm, I looked in CCC and I see no way of enabling crossfire. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance. :D

to disable crossfire you can disable catalyst AI. or you can pull the crossfire plug.

I said "enable" but nevermind, I rebooted and that fixed the crossfire issue, but alas, i still do not have full screen scaling :(

With current drivers, you need to go into the display settings and select the scaling method (full screen, 1:1 or preserve aspect). From what you're saying it sounds like it may be set wrong, Im presuming you've checked this though?

The setting is actually under the monitor settings, not 3d etc

Preserve aspect ratio is usually the best choice as it'll zoom without stretching the image unexpectedly, so you'll only get some black bars, not all black bars.

He wasnt banned thats just a "title" anyone can use. He sold his M17 a while ago so i doubt hes in the mood to mess with drivers, especially without having the hardware to test them on.

actually those drivers are from september and are beta. Last I heard was that once win7 went public there would be no more mobility drivers (hence no 9.10 or 9.11)

9.12 mob-modded still won't scale to full screen until 1280x800-ish. Crysis looks like a bag of a$$ scaled at that res. Is there a fix for this yet?

Your post confused me, how can it not scale but look ugly when it does ? Except if it does in the first place :p

Also, yes every game will look crap if you dont run it at native resolution and will get worst the further down you reduce the resolution.

It makes perfect sense. The driver won't scale to full screen until you hit 1280x800. Any resolution before that, and you're playing in a box. I'd like to scale from maybe 1680x1050, or around there.

the driver scales rez that haves a 1/1 ratio so 4:3 or 16:9 rez won't streech to full screen only 16:10 will

Driver won't scale? You mean full screen?

Change your screen resolution to 1280x800. Go into CCC and select Desktops and Displays. Right click on the little computer and select configure. Under scaling options select Full Screen. Click apply then change your resolution back to 1920x1200 and play your game.

Yes, it does scale once I select the 1280x800 option. I was only noting that though. I actually want to play it at 1680x1050. The trick you just spoke of doesn't work for that resolution. Thanks for the help.

    Just insert the line:

    HKR,, GXOUseSclkforProgrammableDispClk, %REG_DWORD%, 1

into [ati2mtag_M76_SoftwareDeviceSettings] of C7_XXXXX.inf (for Win7) or CH_XXXXX.inf (for Vista) and reinstall driver.

    @ibraveheart

ATI currently don't support mobility cards due to agreements in place with laptop providers. The 10.1 betas floating around actually do have some mobility series support.

ATI also supported the mobility cards in thier Win7 RTM drivers before Win7 went to retail, but then said agreements came back into force.

They've said they're hoping to roll mobility support into the reference drivers this year, dependant on manufacturer cooperation.

@Shiraz - unless you NEED features from E-wreck's collection, use mobility modded drivers.
