Still waiting to find out what the percentage discount is and if it will be a discount code. I don't want to send my personal info until that is straightened out.

There is no way the discount will be in the form of a coupon. Employees can't put codes into the system. Also, if they did it that way, then the codes would obviously leak out onto the internet for everyone to use.

He said before he really cant quote anything until the 5870's in CF are available. My bet would be that he will talk to his manager when they come out to see if he can get us a special deal. He said he was amazed at the responses he was receiving from our forum and that he would take care of all of us with a good deal when they are released.... lets have a little faith. Not much we really can do... its a waiting game anyways since the CF 5870s arent out yet :p One thing is for sure, we are more likely to get a better deal together. Even the buyers guide in the forum says that reps will give a better deal if they think you are purchasing more than one computer. lol it even says to add a bunch of computer configs to your wish list.
Dont get discouraged guys! We got to work for the good deals :p

Hear Hear! Keep the faith :p The truth is I'm surprized that he already contacted some people. To me that shows that is is both eager and is going to take us seriously. But yes, we have to wait for the CF to come out.

    Well said my friend!

also, I really am thinking someone is right on the money with a May 20th release. I believe the HP 17" Envy comes out then... would make since for Dell to have something new to release around the same time. :p If not at that time, then around E3 :D

It will be a wise meassure to wait until E3. To buy now to find after one month that you can upgrade... will be at less dissapointing and very costly. Old your desires and wait.

Bad news guys, I just got off the phone with Logan and he is telling me 12% is the best he can do. This is after I purchased a m11x from him 2 days ago. He is telling me he spoke with his manager and that is the max discount.

Not that great of a discount. My laptop was $2,600. EPP discount plus $50 coupon you get for signing up for dell email or whatever, I got just as good a discount.

This is still a good discount for everybody that doesn't have EPP or Student discount. Logan should call everybody ASAP though when available as many of us on here have EPP. He might lose some sales if he's not quick. I know how people will want to pull the trigger immediately.

    Hey guys,
I sent Logan the following msg:
    Hey Logan,
A member, *****, (purchased m11x) updated us on the forum saying that you had talked to your manager and that the best % he would allow is 12%. I have heard that if you open a DPA that you can get 3% off of a purchase. I was wondering if a DPA account is used if you get an additional 3% making 15%. Is their any way your manager may give additional off? The reason i'm asking is because some of the members are/have family that works for Boeing... so they are eligable for the 16% EPP for Boeing employees.
Also, thanks for working on getting us the best deal

    EDIT: also sent this:
.....oh I thought of something else that I didnt ask in previous msg. If your manager says no more additonal off (12% max). Would he be willing to include say some free upgrades in addition to the 12% off? Say free upgrade to i7 720 and 1200P RGB screen and an free upgraded warranty of 1 yr Advanced? or something like that?

I forgot that we cant leverage EPP. That does make it allot harder for Logan to work out a deal. It may be true he cant do better for non EPP members. EPP has to count for something you know.
A 15% discount plus a warranty or delivery bonus will probably be something for us to consider.

Considering that I want more than just the M17x maxed out, I'd like to see what he can do for me on the other items. It may increase the 12% when the 'other items' are included.

Can't wait to hear back! 12% plus a little something-something still sounds good to me.

    12% total discount? rofl.

EPP is 10%. And there are $50-$75 coupons going around all the time anyway. People are getting ~20% when they're buying single units...

if the 12% he offers is stackable then 10%epp 3%DPA 12% from logan 100off coupon in the tech bargains forum 25% off + 100 off that would be decent

Well I don't know what rep in specific, but it was EPP from what I remember. There's been quite a bit of reports of ~20% off on single m17x systems (the ones that cost $2k, $2k+.

They are offering different discounts on different systems. On m11x, I found it was very hard to get anything off. Since they get paid by %, it does make sense they don't want to bother with people buying a "cheap" laptop.

If you are US resident with a credit history, you immediately get 3% off on top of EPP. Add to that $75 off EPP coupon - on $2k price, $75 is what almost 4% off. So thats... what... 17% off without him even doing anything extra. (!)

I found it hard to get anything off as well, it seems that the general word was it's already a "discounted" item for what you're getting--I was able to get $50 off and free shipping, so hey that's something.

Well... they offered me 2-3% off when I was buying m11x, priced at $970. Here we're talking about a sale of what 10-20 high-end m17x, each priced at least ~$2k-$2.5k.

It's nothing more than okay. In fact, it's probably possible to squeeze few % off through reps by buying a single system.

I agree. I honestly think that if someone were to tell him that you were all going to pass 'cause you can get better deals individualy, there is a good chance he would respond with a better offer. And if not, you could all easily at least match his offer yourselves.

EPP reps were not that willing to deal either... I even told them I had 20 people that were purchasing with me... in the end she didnt care. Yall are welcome to ask around too... see if any rep would be willing to give a better discount if we brought them 20 m17x sales.

Already got mine ordered. I'm just saying if I were you guys I'd try a little strong arm tactics, 'cause you really can't lose anything.

But, in the end if you decide to order from the guy, it's not a bad price. Can't go wrong with 12% off, just think there are better offers to be found.

The best part is he offered me 12% plus $50 off and I went to the dell EPP site and saved more with the 10% and the $100 off coupon. he only offered me 12% with $50 off. So I pulled the trigger and ordered online $3428 after 10% and $100 off. Logan didn't seem to willing to work to find a better deal for me. and keep in mind this is after I ordered a m11x with him. this m11x wasn't base price either. So to say the least I'm disapointed. He aslo wasn't able to shed any light on when Xfire would come out.

You didnt want to phone order the m17x? Correct me if im wrong but wouldnt 12% +$50 off be more than 10% +$100 off.... im guessing you spent around 3800?
    3800*.1=380+100=480 off
    vs
    3800*.12=456+50=506 off

Would Logan not take the $100 off coupon?
+ you could have asked him for free shipping

Are you even reading what I am writing?

He has earned what - ability offer you LESS discount that you would get online?!

12% is not even a joke. It would be an insult to our intelligence. Most of the people here have that much ability to at least figure out that they can get 10% off EPP, 3% DPA (if they have credit rating) and an extra ($100) off coupon. Which is more... MORE than he is offering... offering for a potential ~$30 000 (!) sale. I expected AT LEAST 20% off, otherwise I'll just call on my own.

I have no clue why you sent him an e-mail yet. Crossfire 5870 isn't even out yet - there was just a post from some troll claiming it was, which is why he probably can't even do an estimate.

Shipping is what, $10? Free shipping.... "wow".....

P.S. Aaron, I am curious to what kind of system your ordered? You could've called any... ANY rep, and they at least give you 2-3% off, just from ordering through phone. Which is what I have been offered on m11x.

No I did not order from him. I had to tell him about the $100 coupon and then give him the code for it. This is after he offered me $50 off. And he indicated that he would not be able to give me the 3% DPA discount. He stated the DPA discount is only online. So I chose to order online. I don't know how he was coming up with his figures but what i built online was cheaper than what he offered. This may have to do with the discount you get when building a computer online through the EPP site. remember its 10% off total and 10% off each upgrade. I give you props for trying to organize this but it seems like He's unwilling to try to get the best deal for us. I'm unsure how the pay for the reps works but the answer seemed I'll check with the supervisor and then it would be sorry that's the best we can do.

tensions are starting to get a little high around here :D

yeah, keep shoping around for other reps, but dont put on presure until the CF configurations are out so we know what we are dealing with. And also keep in mind that we as a group are trying to get an EPP level discount without EPP. I'm not sure how this factors into the discount but I know it must matter somewhat.

and remember any promise made today can be broken tomorrow. another good reason to take it slow and just get our numbers up.

Maybe we should see if our little group can get their own EPP code :p.

and the3vilGenius we do know about that thread, and that is also based on the assumption that you can use EPP. So for some is just wouldnt work.

I've read that thread and called and spoke to different reps. I thought Logan new the Deal and it would be less stressful to deal with him. When I first spoke to Logan I told him what I was trying to achieve and I was part of the Forum. I joined this forum over a year ago. I don't like posting but I do read post and have learned much. I would like to thank all the members of the forum that have helped me expand my knowledge base.

no not everyone can use it. You or someone related to you needs to work for a company that has signed up for EPP. The company has to give you the link and/or their EPP member number.

There are people who lie about being part of so-and-so company. Sometimes they are caught and sometimes not. But bar none having an EPP rep is the best way to get a discount.

That is why I'm participating in this "group purchase" idea. I can use EPP, but I want other members who cant get EPP to still get a good discount.

Not one rep I ever spoke with ever checked my EPP eligibility (student). So khm... "in principle" anyone -can- use it. :) If someone wants to pay more $ to the company like Dell... well I guess his/her choice.

I have heard peple being called back asking for their company's EPP number. In that case they cancel and try again. Like everyone says, it isnt a very secure system, but what can i say I like being a strait-arrow. :)
