Got it saved ready in my basket so might buy it tomorrow. Everythings stock except the pre-upgraded Su7300 so yeah going to go with the 2gb option comes to £690 altogether. Im just gonna count the mouse as a freebie as i dont really need/want another mouse
RPG youve got to wait absolutely ages though ive heard some people have received theirs sooner than their edd

I DID THIS LAST NIGHT WITH THE 4GB DEAL AND IT HAD VANISHED THIS MORNING - The order was in my basket but it had no details and was maked red - saying that it was no longer available.
IF the rep that I spoke to is not talking bull, the deal is a mistake by marketing and will be removed by the morning when the marketing guys get back in - we'll see... Maybe it's just a ploy to get more people to buy...?!? -
I think weve all gotten over the 4gb not being there any more, the 2gb offer is still there until thursday however and is still saving 100 plus you get a 60 quid mouse
You win some you loose some -
guys...
I've just been on the phone with Dell.
It seems there is a cherry on the cake.
the offer includes "free game download".
and from what I've understood the game is actually Bioshock 2 !
-
All sorted!
I've saved a total of £89 PLUS the mouse £59 PLUS Bioshock 2 £20-£30 (£29.99 on Steam as of 02/03)
So - I never intended buying Bioshock 2 as I was going to get it on the xbox360, however all in all a saving minus Bioshock 2 of £148, include Biosock and it's a total of about £178
Found out today that the 4GB deal was a mistake that Dell marketing made. It was never intended to be on there and was taken off as soon as it was realised...
Anyways - Not bad!
Ordered via phone - With EPP %6 - Plus extra £49! off from person on phone.
System Spec -
Processor Intel® Core™ 2 Duo SU7300(1.3GHz,800MHz,3MB) (Upgrade is part of the package deal)
Microsoft Operating System Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium
Memory 8192MB 1067MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x4096]
Hard Drive 500GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive
My total order should have cost me - £1138 (This price is with my EPP added, but without the addition of the mouse and game - With the mouse and game added it should have cost me £1226.99), it has cost me £1030 (Plus I get the game and mouse included in that).
The only gutting thing is - I have to send my original machine back as soon as it turns up, they won't charge me for the shipping apparently, but that still sucks. My new one's EDD is 18/03 -
managed to get 20quid knocked off on my delivery but they wouldn't do anything else! I'm happy enough as I'd have paid alot more for this machine for the portability! Thanks Jonny for the heads up.
-
It's always nice to be appreciated!
Did you follow the link on the first page - there should be a full £80 off - WITH the upgraded CPU and then a further £20 off your shipping - use the EPP discount too - there's no way they'd know and they don't check either. You should also get the mouse and the game download (via Steam I think).
Let me know dude.
J
Ps. I'll add rpg-XPS's info to the 1st post as to how to the the EPP added to an online order - do it online and no one will be asking you for details -
Good stuff guys, some nice discounts there (the game is a bonus too).
I PM'd the guy on this forum, and he managed to catch the 4GB before they took it off. Lucky man.
Another thing I just noticed is that 4GB has been reduced to 2GB for the deal on the Irish Dell site. Yesterday, 4GB was definitely part of the base price, so they took nearly a full day longer to correct the deal in Ireland. -
Jonny,
mine was a refund on an already shipped order.
neil. -
I live in Germany and the whole February was running in circles trying to find out if there are some discounts on the M11x. Apparently the cheapest configuration was 799+29 delivery. And if one (me) wants to upgrade the CPU it all runs up to 868.
The EPP is not working for the students generally, and even the members of IEEE (yes, I tortured some of my colleagues) get a "huge" discount of 4%.
So, when you point out that you just replaced the "uk"s with "ie"s, I thought to myself "watta hell?" and changed it to "de"
This gave me a discount of 90 and I scored with 799 (stock + SU7300) and free delivery! Although I still haven't received a confirmation, the process of purchasing went flawlessly. Probably will confirm the deal when the message from Dell arrives.
Thank you rpg-XPS, thank you Jonny T! -
-
So I put my order in on 01/03/10 ( ast night) and my EDD seems to be 01/04/10
We'll see! I wouldn't complain if I got it sooner -
-
This thread is such a god sent
I've just ordered mine with the 4gb ram and left everything else - £766!
+1 rep for Jonny T and rpg-XPS -
Goddamnit I should've waited LOL.
Nah, the wait would've killed me. XD Gz to all the UK people who can take advantage of this deal though. -
It says Steam and Portal on accessories. How come some people are getting Bioshock 2?
-
Got another question sorry
RPG said something about stating the college/uni you go to
Now at checkout its asking for a company name is this where college name would normally go? from the looks of it, its a required field and some people who are students dont work for a company -
-
-
Okay, something like this needs to come for Canada
I've waited long enough! ahah
-
I talked to a dell rep and he said that there will be a few options for games to download. -
rpg-XPS, out of interest, what does your order status say at the moment?
-
-
Aww
Mine moved on to In Production a little earlier this evening I think, no change on EDD. It's like Christmas, heh. -
Didnt realise you get a game as well... bonus! -
So when is the going to run out? I can't buy until tomorrow evening and am very worried the deal will disappear
edit:
couldnt wait hehe.. bought the 690 pound config. -
-
Is this discount valid to any UK Higher study collage Student ? Or Only For Dell registered Collages ?
-
-
Sh#t! I never knew about this when I study @ uni -
So, has anybody who has an order in production called to try and get the discount applied or at least a free mouse thrown in?
My EDD is 8th March. Would love to see if I could get SOMETHING for being an early orderer... -
I also told them that I had seen the offer the day before WITH the 4gb included - it made the 8gb £80 cheaper too. Cutting a long story short, the woman was ace and did me a good deal coz I was nice to her, lol!
-
PS. Thanx to all the guys who have been saying thanks - you're very welcome - Thanks to rpg-XPS for the headsup. Just so people know - I'm adding the evalue code to the front of the thread and an easy tut on how to gain the discount along with EPP - I MUST SAY - EPP COULD BE GAINED BY ANYONE WITH AN 'ac.uk' or equivelant email addy - so if you know someone in your family who has a Uni addy, get them to sign up for you - just realise that all correspondance will go to them.
Another way to get the offer direct from Dell WITH the EEP discount:
Go to the Dell Epp site: http://www.dell-sci.co.uk/
Click on 'Laptops'
Go to the bottom of the screen where it says Evalue code click on the link and Type:
In the 1st box - 'a' and in the second box - 'N00W1104'
Place your order - WHEN YOU GET TO THE FINAL BASKET SCREEN you will have the full discount WITH the extra 6% off
Simples. -
YOU MUST CANCEL BEFORE THEY SHIP TO YOU OR YOU WILL INCUR £20 'RESTOCK'/SHIPPING FEE -
Ordered mine last night, bit the bullet and went with 4gb of ram so came to 766 in the end. Did abit more research into 2gb vs 4gb. Basically it doesnt so much affect max fps but improves min fps resulting in smoother gameplay. Also loading times for games are greatly improved and the pc recovers quicker after exiting a game
-
about the game download and the "steam" thing.
I phoned again to get some more info.
so it seems the Steam client is installed by default but no games come with it.
The free game download is done through the Dell Download Store.
It will be limited to Bioshock 2.
I've never heard of the Dell Download Store.
Anybody knows what it is ?
is it good ? -
http://www.delldownloadstore.co.uk/index_games.html -
Ordered mine last night too after my first credit card got declined LOL
Opted for the 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD though as I hope to keep this one for a while, EDD was 5th April though :C so i am gonna go through a month of pulling my hair out until it arrives, got it for £1409 including this weird mouse that I will never use - You also get a free game download with this - something i'm assuming is from the DELL DOWNLOAD site or perhaps even STEAM, who knows, did anyone however order a USB External DVD Drive with theirs ? Im still pondering which one to get... -
thats not fair i ordered mine and it came and just saw you can get more discount and free mouse , i ordred through epp is there anyway i can make them send me a free mouse?
-
apparently not..people have tried...but you never know..give them a call, can't hurt.
-
Hi guys.
I managed to persuade Dell to send me a free tactx mouse i ordered on the 17/02 and am due to ake delivery of my M11x tommorow morning. Call your sales rep asap and ask if they will give you one. It took a lot of effort to sort out but i should get my Tactx mouse within the next 7 days. Dell wouldnt refund the difference in price between the price i paid and the offer online though. My order had already shipped so would have had to have paid the re-stocking fee to order a new lappy taking advnatage of the offer and this would be about the same as the difference in discount (got a ok discount when i ordered originally). But Dell are sending me a free mouse as a good will gesture. Im pleased they are good service in my opinion. I would suggest trying to get them to send you one before the online offer ends. -
Been considering this for a long time, Finally ordered £720 with upgraded hard drive, not bad at all. Thanks for the link!
-
-
-
Hope that helps - you need to do it tonight though as I think the deal ends tonight!
Take it easy -
-
A quick question to people who ordered through EPP.
Are all of you that have ordered through EPP have some relation to dell's corporate partners?
I want to purchase the M11x and want to take advantage of this deal but I do not have any corporate relation for the use of EPP discount and students in Ireland doesn't seem to get the discount from Dell either.
Like rpg-XPS have said, they rarely check but I want to find out more.
So if anyone here who ordered through EPP discount without any corporate relations would give me some info, it would be appreciated
Also when I went through the config and went to check out. They don't seem to ask you anything. I got as far as the verify & summit order and there was no questions asked.
This is the link I used provided by rpg-XPS:
http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=ie&cs=iedhs1&l=en&oc=N00W1104 -
Thanks for the discount link. I had already ordered yesterday for a total price of £868.99 without the mouse, so cancelled and reordered using the link and got it all for £766 with a free mouse. Only thing is though my EDD for the original order was 18/03 and for the same spec with mouse is now 09/04, think I'm going to call and find out why such a big difference, if its because the mouse is out of stock I think I'll ask if they can send an alternate or just post the mouse when its in
-
Apparently the deal was improved - now they have a 30% discount on mouse as well and the deal was extended till 11th of March.
-
yes deal has been imroved again this morning. My deal at 766 has improved to 750. Not sure I'll bother cancelling and reordering though
