I think the deal is worse as the tactix mouse is no longer free!
Also I ordered on the second and I notice the tactix mouse doesnt show up on my acknowledgement! Does anyone elses show up?
-
Tactx mouse previously showed as £59 (not free)and is now 30% off. The discount for the mouse is included in the total discount. You cant unselect the mouse as you get an error when trying to pay. The new deal is basically £17 better than yesterdays. Confusing I know, but when I ran my same order through the system today I would be £17 better off cancelling and reordering.
-
Is it alot of hassle cancelling? does it require phoning up? takes the p*ss really order it just before the offer ends and a new better offer comes out
-
I cant be bothered to cancel mine for the sake of £17, but would like to know why the delivery date is 3 weeks later than my previous order which was only done about an hour apart. Dell customer service is shocking though, tried to speak to someone earlier about it, but couldnt really understand them, so Ive e-mailed the question in but am currently still waiting for a reply. I previously ordered an Alienware laptop about 2 years ago and the customer service was fantastic, seems to have gone down hill somewhat
-
I see that the TactX mouse has 30% off, but are you sure that the discounted mouse was actually included in the M11x deal? The reason I ask is because the mouse is definitely not included in the deal anymore. So where I bought my M11x with TactX mouse for £719.45 on the 1st March, the deal as of now would also cost me £719.45, but without the mouse. They must have changed it already? If so, they don't leave stuff up for long!
ninja2000, the mouse is definitely showing up on my order acknowledgement (down the bottom):
-
Its sooo hard resisting to not have a peek inside... arrgh the pain!!!
Though if you do manage to find out please let us all know -
Thanks for pointing it out. -
This deal is so bizarre but hell yeah am I cancelling and re-ordering, my original order came up to £1409 with the compulsory TactX mouse but now when I did the EPP deal, it gave me the option to remove the mouse option - new price with added discount £1286.57
It might take an extra week and I risk a restocking fee of £23 but I'm saving another £100 in the process so well worth it imo !!! -
The TactX mouse is no longer compulsory, it's an optional accessory. Before today, the £729 price included the £59 TactX mouse, now the £729 price doesn't. It costs an extra £43.93 (30% off) to add it to your order. It seems there was a small period of time (early this morning) where the discounted mouse remained part of the deal, reducing the overall cost, but it didn't last long.
The deal seems to be getting worse and worse! First day, 4GB was included, then it was reduced to 2GB. Up until yesterday, the TactX mouse was included as part of the deal, now it's not.
I'm still annoyed I didn't catch the 4GB at the start. I know, I'm greedy... -
Hope you get a good deal! -
I ordered the exact same spec as your's mate except I had the 256 SSD HDD on as well...
The other wierd thing is that my new rig's EDD is two weeks earlier than my order im about to cancel lol - how f***ed up is that ? -
Yeah, I got my EDD through at 23/03/10! I was really surprised, looking at other peoples I was expecting it in April
-
coz mine isnt until the 9th of APRIL!! -
SU7300 - 2gb - 320gb 7200 - bluetooth - 1520 wifi and tactix mouse
-
ohhh it must be the 4gb ram thats slowing my order down :S
well i spoke to a dell rep and they said that they are cranking up production anyway -
I think the EDD is like a lottery. I ordered day before yesterday over the phone and EDD was 18/03. I cancelled the order about an hour later as I spotted the offer on here. I then ordered the exact same spec apart from the Tactx mouse and my EDD went to 09/04
-
Hm... I ordered the notebook on Tuesday and by now still haven't received any e-mail from DELL at all. Through the form on their site it is also not showing any info if I enter the Internet Receipt number along with my e-mail. I wonder if they still process the order or they just lost it somewhere on the way?
-
phone them. that usually happens when there is a problem with your payment. dell never think to actually phone you and tell you there is a problem.
-
@N.toni
I got my first order declined due to a card issue as well. But luckily I had asked a rep to clarify just before I placed my order and he called me back to say it didn't go through. So I ordered another one and he kindly cancelled my 1st order.
I would call them up asap cuz it sounds like it never went through. -
Thanks. That did help. A little. I suppose.
It appears the e-mail I gave them was missing "L" in "gmai l.com", but no one bothered to call me about it (I wonder if they noticed it at all), but in my "order status" info about delivery address and payment is listed as "not available". The guy said he'll fix the e-mail, but I still wonder if that was the only mistake in my order. -
blatent lie and irony eh ?
tried to cancel my previous order but it was in production so i need to send it back as soon as it arrives lol losing £23 in restocking but saving an extra £100 is definitely worth it now, total £1286 instead of £1409 -
Hmm I ordered on Wednesday money went out on thursday now the order status website says cancelled. I presume the website is as usual broken but cant confirm because they dont answer the phone at the weekend. I'm sure Alienware used to answer calls on Saturdays at least?
-
Obviously it would be great if I did get it soon, but there are guys who ordered it at the start of February still yet to receive theirs.
You should be able to get someone here. Just use the "Click to Talk" button and they'll phone you back. -
-
Seems highly unlikely I'd agree. Maybe the order status tracker is broken and giving us all the wrong info. Oh well got to wait till monday to find out
-
Just looking at customising an m11x on dells regular site and the su7300 is now + £55!
-
The offer is still up minus the mouse, just order it through the offer page if you want to order it!
-
http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/esl_offers?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs if you look at this link it still says you can get a free tactx mouse and claims the m11x has a dvd rw. I am o to a sales rep at the moment but he is unwilling to give me a free mouse with my order. Do any of you guys know if they have to comply to give me one as it is advertised they should do so? Cheers
-
Only 320GB now too.
-
-
Did u get any luck with the optical drive?!? I've just screen shotted it and will call them on Monday I think.
Let me know
Cheers -
Was on to the rep for about an hour. He tried fobbing me off saying we don't have to give it you its in the T&C. So i asked what clause and he said actually it isn't, its in a disclaimer at the bottom of the page. I checked if the disclaimer was up and it wasn't so he replied actually we haven't uploaded it yet. I have a screen hot with the time and date also shown of the deal and also a screenshot sisplaying that the disclaimer wasn't there. Will contact them again on monday as the rep wouldn't put me throught o someone else because it was late saturday evening. If you need the photo shot showing the disclaimer is not up i'll be happy to email it to you.

EDIT : Was going to PM you but you have no PM setcould you email it to - [email protected]
Thanks again matey. -
Offer seems to include the free tactx mouse again. Using epp order including 4gb ram, 320gb drive, u7300 and free mouse works out to £766
-
Now a further £20 off, making the saving £120!
£709
- SU7300
- 2GB RAM
- 320GB HDD
- Free TactX Mouse
- Free Bioshock 2 game
As much as I hate to say it.... I do feel a CPU refresh comming to include the i series processors! -
The minute this thing gets a CPU refresh, my M11x is going up on eBay! Although an AW rep confirmed that a refresh will only happen around September / October at the very earliest. So it is coming, but not for at least 6 months unfortunately. -
For reference:
Deal expires tomorrow
------------------------------------
Really contemplating buying this notebook! This is an awesome deal! Hmmmmm -
I got this deal, however the rep to begin with didn't give me the mouse.
I pushed and pushed for it, especially since they were still advertising it.
I finally got it added on Friday, but it's the Logitech G500! My order shipped today -
Edit - NVM! What a deal!!
-
mx11hopeful - Did you manage to sort it out to get the EPP discount?
-
Finally my beastie had also found itself a new home
The order was done on 2nd of March (kudos once more to rpg-XPS and Jonny T) and despite some nervousness from my side (with the absence of e-mails) it did worked out pretty well - last Friday UPS finally got the package (well, two packages - TactX mouse came from Netherlands separately) and I got M11x yesterday and the TactX today.
All in all, it was a great deal - 799€ with free shipping, TactX mouse and upgraded CPU. Funny thing (Murphy's laws?) - two days after my deal they put a discount on the mouse, last week I got an offer to join IEEE with 50% off (then it would actually save me 20€ with the DELL EPP). But I can't complain - the thing is AWESOME! -
edit - NVM

edit - edit

Guys how do you get bioshock 2, where is it? Link? Still lots of confusion around this... Is it really included?
-
BTW - I should be getting mine within the next few days!!! Woot!
Oh - just so you know:
Alienware m11x - Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3GHz - 8GB Ram - 500GB HDD - 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M + Tactx mouse and Bioshock 2 = £995 They did me a good deal after I moaned -
Nice!
Please let us know when you can, thanks man.
-
Also going to put an 80GB Intel X25-M G2 SSD I have in this. Should be large enough for the OS plus a few games. Can put the 320GB HDD in a USB2 housing I have for DVD/BR rips etc. -
Does the mouse come WITH the m11x delivery or seperately or either?
Talking about the Tactx here. -
Mine came with the tactx mouse. If it has shipped yet you will probably notice on the tracking info that it will say 2 boxes
-
Thanks for the info, what about the free game download?
Bioshock 2? Where, how ? etc..
