Sleey0's included NDB so there's a $40 difference there.
Would make it easier to compare if you posted your specs Z. Might have something different that you just missed.
-
yes but he added red for 99$ i picked silver.. so i should be 140$ or so less..
-
you get 7% off?
-
How about 3% DPA?
-
oh yeah forgot about that but that doesnt make 140$ up???
-
DPA would make most of the $140 up...about $110. A lower tax than yours, like around 6.25% would make up the rest.
-
Z
I used the evalue on the EPP site and used DPA.
That is how I came to the price I did. -
yeah my max cut off is 2500$ so ill see if i call them and bargain a bit.. they usually will knock off at least 100$ or so if you talk to them right
-
sleey0 do you have the actual e-value code so that I can mention it if I call? -
My EPP rep couldn't budge on price except free shipping. -
-
-
i didnt know the m17x had a 2.0ghz cpu option?
-
-
A couple of weeks ago someone posted a promotion where some company, store, website, or whatever had a deal worked out with Dell to allow it's public customers access to the EPP discount.
Anyone remember who that was through? -

Here you go. http://www.serverbeach.com/servers/specialoffers_dell.php, I think this was the one someone posted, not sure though.

i dont see any way to use the 12% with the code sleey0 posted though or am i wrong,, edit the link above still is only for 7% off on laptops and notebooks
-
i had trouble doing it Sleey0 has like magical powers to find good deals
Sure way is to call n place it over the phone its quicker and easier -
That's a really nice offer...I wouldn't sell the Q9000 though. If you ever have to send it back for any reason they won't be happy if you've got another CPU in it. (i.e. they'll say your warranty is void)
-
It's just a more "legitimate" way to get the 7% EPP discount if you don't work for a company that is part of the program. -
I have been buying Dell's for a long time and have never had them void my warranty for changed parts.
The only thing not covered under Dell warranties is the part(s) (if you didn't buy it from Dell) and any damage caused (if you managed to) by the installation of the upgraded part(s).
I love Dell's warranties -
The only discounts are EPP (7%) and DPA (3%).
Go here and enter the code 6F980-DKPCQU3 (on the left).
The price shown while your configuring is before discount - you have to add to cart to see the 7%.
After that, proceed to checkout but select the credit card option. There you will see the 3% DPA offer. Select it then watch the discount change -
Server Beach customers get to take part in their EPP with Dell and receive up to 12% off. It's only the standard 7% for PCs though.
-
Oh. I see...
I forgot that some items thru EPP can reach the 12% discount, just not systems.
Anyway, if your still having problems getting the discount to work just let me know.
I think you guys were actually doing it right but the discount doesn't show until you add it to your cart. -
It's not like the 3870s from the M17 that have m9750 owners interested in buying. -
Maybe someone that jumped on one of the reseller deals? -
They're better off buying them from Dell/AW to get the warranty unless you charge considerably less for your cards.
-
If there priced right ill bet there is going to be tons of M17x owners with single 260s who would love to take a stab at some 280s.
Alot of people ordering these machines think a single card will be enough only to realize they should have gotten 2.
If new cards come out ill be letting mine go for super cheap to ensure i sell them quickly thats for sure.
-
How does 2 280's for $500 sound?
-
Lol thats the price i had in mind
. If i can make up even 40% of the cost of the new cards ill be happy .
So if new Nvidia cards come out and there a $1000.00 for a set ill be happy with half of it covered . The ATIs wont be that expensive though thats for sure. -
I'll be down to buy some 280's! I'd prefer a single 260 though..whoever is upgrading to SLI'd 280's from a single 260 let me know, I want your 260!
-
If you already paid $900 (initial cost of the single 260M + $600 upgrade for 280M SLI) to get the Nvidia cards when you bought the machine after the sale you're losing $400. Then you actually have to buy the two ATI cards which would likely cost more as an upgrade than if you bought them in a new machine. -
I wont mind kicking out $400 extra on top of the $500 i sold my cards for if they yield much better performance .
I dont have many hobbies that cost me alot of money and i didnt spend 5k on my rig either like i have seen others do around here, so if i had to shell out abit and lose some according to your way of looking at it then i would not be bothered one bit.
Plus i also take into account the time i actually got to use the 280s and that has to be worth something toward the loss/value of the cards. -
If you're fine with it then you're fine with it.
I'm just pointing out that it's not a good break-even deal like the M17 owners have...who can recoup most, if not all, of their upgrade costs for 4850s by charging whatever they want for the used 3870s they'll sell to m9750 owners that have no other option for upgrades. -
Phinagle
I am not upgrading anytime soon. Let's be honest here.... The 280's should be suffice for at least 6 months, right?
Who knows.. Maybe the 280's will be a hot commodity later down the road -
Once all the numbers are out there and there substantially better then what ill have i will make the switch.
M17 owners just got lucky is the way i look at it. They will have a market for there cards but that rarely happens in the notebook world so its no biggie they got an easy way out of selling and other machines dont.
Once the market is flooded with 3870s we will actually see how much the prices change or if people are really interested in them for the 9750 or not .
Intially i know they will be but i have a feeling there will be many people stuck or sitting on 3870s unless they dump them for next to nothing . -
congrats bro, the nebula red looks good. ;x
-
I hope it is as good in-person or it's going back for black -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Where are people getting the 600 figures on upgrading from a 260 SLI to 280 SLI... it is only 300 dollars for the upgrade
-
One advantage to getting black is these lids will eventually start hitting eBay. Even the Warcraft lid for the M1730 shows up on eBay from time to time. It will look nicer if you like changing different color lids if the base is black. Hopefully they'll also come out with more colors. Like green!
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ughhh.... I like green... but have you seen the M17 like the one Moo had in green... it isn't the most pleasent looking IMO
-
I liked it. I would switch it back and forth from time to time.

Makes sense

God, I hope that E-value code works until the end of summer. Maybe a new one every month, hopefully?
It would really be depressing if there are absolutely nada when I finally am able to order one. God, now that would totally SUCK. -
I wouldn't worry too much. E-value codes stick around for awhile
Even if this particular one isn't, Dell releases new ones every month (they are in the catalogs you can view online or subscribe to). -
I got DPA approved for $2000 only - obviously it's not enough to make a purchase. How do I apply DPA discount in this case?
-
It's all or none with DPA unfortunately....
I'm BACK! Comments on new config welcome:)
