Is this a good deal for the M17x (from Micro Center)

It is hard to say when it will actually ship. Yes in some cases it could take 3 weeks. But in other cases, like myself, it is actually only taking 1 week from order date till when it is actually getting to me. Ordered 8/26, being delivered tomorrow 9/2. I guess it just all has to do with when they get them in.

 

I ordered 8/14, shipped 8/28, expected to arrive 9/4. It does mainly have to do with when they get them in, but currently it says 7-21 business days for those who order it now.

 

i ordered 8/18 ship date 8/25(although didn't actually ship till monday!!) Expected... tomorrow... oh yea!!!! from Gove City, Ohio to Des Moines, IA

 

So... any word on how your systems are working??

I just called in, and I might be able to receive my M17x earlier. Asked them to hold it at the center they're shipping it to to go pick it up. When I get it, ill post some benchmarks with and w/o overclocking the CPU.

 

Got mine. Had to do some messing around with drivers to get WoW working properly.

Only bad thing is it came with vista...After using 7 for so long vista is just a slow pig. So right now im formating the machine with a clean install of Win 7 64bit

 

just got it early this morning, no problems, i will never know how i could have lived so long with out this system, lol, It's great, but where are you guys getting these windows 7, are you in another country or what?

it cannot be downloaded anymore from microsoft but it could be for months

 

I am a systems admin, I have the RTM.

As for my machine, got windows 7 on it. Overclocked to 2.4ghz in the bios, ran OCCT for an hour, temps didnt get higher then 70. Put the 186.82 drivers on it with hybrid and onboard disabled in the bios. Got a 12789 3dmark06 without touching the cards clocks or trying for a higher overclock of the processor. So far, so good.

 

I'm waiting for the FedEx truck. Skipped work today lol.

Does OCCT linpack run on it for the full hour? Just for giggles I tried running OCCT linpack on my X205-S9359 (which doesn't overclock) and it failed after 4 minutes.

 

Is OCCT different then OCCT linpack? Maybe i ran the wrong thing.

edit: Answered my own question. I just did the OCCT for an hour. Running the Linpack version now. Temps are getting to 80 now, but 15 min in, all seems good so far.

 

Just got this beast today, so far loving it. Ill post benchmarks with and w/o overclocked CPU.

In-Store pick-ups only. Looks like they're just trying to get rid of the rest of their inventory/display systems. Get em while they're hot! There's a ~$700 difference in price when purchasing the same spec system from Dell.

Good luck finding a store near you with it in stock though... I don't know if I want to drive a few thousand miles to get one
