With the killer software i got weird drop outs, it's a other issue, but appears to be frequent.
It's just disable the program you work with to fix it.
other option, turn off the killer app what works great.
My router wont get overloaded, normally it would get slow, it's still fast.
Simple way to try for me is to login, should ALWAYS goes fast.

thx for the +rep![]()
EDIT: i love this! connect time: 01:53:49 I feel they finally fixed the windows 8 bugger
-
I think mine is completely stock now and its been working ok.
Did you remove the old beta drivers or just install on top? -
I cleaned out all settings.
steps:
Uninstall Killer Software (when doing that drivers gets uninstalled also)
Restart
Run Killer Cleaner tool
Run registry clean up (don't know if helps but just did)
Restart
Install new drivers
Restart
That's it, now i have still connection, no drop outs, or router that is going slower, 5GHZ working now. very happy right now.
Also does it help to clean/reset your winsock settings etc?
Been wondering that. -
i have a problem... with my killer N1202 every 15 minutes my internet connection go on limited access... with this new beta drivers can i resolve the problem??
-
I don't know, but I think yes with the windows 8 Issue.
I am running now the hole day without issues, never happened so.
Sjoerd -
Senshin, if you use killer network manager with this beta driver still issues?
-
The issues are different.
on the older drivers normally my router would become slow, the connection would time out or something, being still connected but couldst use internet, I needed to restart my connection and occasionally my router also.
Now finally it works great, no problems this day.
Only when using the Killer manager my internet would stop sometimes.
I was playing starcraft and the connection dropped somehow, being still connected, couldt use internet, but closing starcraft was enough and internet was fine.
Same with chrome second time, take down chrome and issue was gone.
then a third time nothing really helped, but killed the killer bandwidth control inside killer manager and it was fine.
It's a different kind of error or something oing on here, i geuss they fix it when the beta is done, it's a BETA, I think they catched the problem, I hope everyone also have succes with these drivers on windows 8 (7??).
But I stopped using the manager now anyway so i don't know further.
I think it's a bug inside the Killer bandwidth control but not sure, without the manager no issues.
This is great update, very very very very happy.

I don't own an Alienware, but I do have a 1103 card. I tried the beta drivers but was unable to connect to my home network. So I had to go back to using the older driver.
Guess I will have to wait for an official update. -
That's to bad they don't work for you.
Maybe the next update/official drivers will work, you on windows 7 or 8?
Can still say I have no issues since the new beta drivers!!
My problem is 99,9% fixed, I save these drivers on my Harddisk, maybe the new ones are again bugged or something.
After 5 months finally fixed for me
Here the link to the Beta download.
Killer Gaming :: Support :: Driver Downloads -
Glad to hear that it fixed your problems.
I'm on Win 7, but I didn't have that much problems with the card in the first place. If anything it would probably be my router/modem or my old building. -
In windows 7 I also had no problems, it has something to do with windows 8 I think, alot of other users report problems in windows 8.
-
Indeed errors with mainly windows 8, probably some sort of security change going frmo windows 7 to 8 which they didn't notice until now.
Past 2 BETA drivers have been ok for me. Running latest drivers (took me 1 hour to download 300mb, such a slow server) and they are fine, no drop outs so far. The actual driver version has changed as well.
New interface seems like windows 8 tile style, but I hardly use it. I leave mine on doing whatever it wants and its been fine for me.
Anyone who had issues, should upgrade to these drivers. (Uninstall old drivers, reboot, install new drivers, reboot).

TIRED of this wireless cards' performance.
Just ordered 6300N to be done with it.
My 5300N on my last machine was w o n d e r f u l, so I'll take a chance on the 6300N.

Lately my Internet keeps dropping out. It will say I have limited access.. Or it will say nothing at all.. Like I'm connected only I can't connect to anything with Internet. Wifi signal never drops... Its just the Internet connection that does. Everything else connected to my router doesn't have this issue so I know it's either the laptop, or the 1103. Any ideas

In addition to littleone562 advice, I suggest you try this:
inSSIDer for Home – Discover The Wi-Fi Around You | MetaGeek
The program shows you how congested your wireless air space is. I found the 1103 to be very susceptible to drop out in a congested environment. This tool helps to set up the channels on your router to maximize your wireless performance.
I ended up replacing my Bigfoot with an intel 6300 I found the Bigfoot just too unreliable.. -
My brother (on his M11x-R3) and myself (previously on my old M17x-R2 and now on my replacement M18x-R2) also had problems with our Killer Wireless-N 1103 cards dropping connections all the time as well as huge ping fluctuations, packet loss and other performance issues as well as simply not seeing some wireless networks and/or being unable to connect to them.
Here is what I did to solve it:
- Uninstalled any Killer drivers on the system and removed all traces of them on the disk and registry.
- Installed driver version 6.1.0.183 (Killer1102-1103Setup_6_1_0_183_win7_64bit.exe still from Bigfoot Networks. They were the oldest drivers for the card I could find, and also the same version number that seems to be most stable on the Killer E2100 Ethernet card on desktops). We've tried all kinds of other drivers, including the latest betas, but this one seems to perform the best still.
- Set Background Scan to Off in the drivers (Device Manager->Killer Wireless-N 1103->Advanced). I did this as I noticed the connection usually drops when it auto-attempts to discover new networks.
- Unticked Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power (Device Manager->Killer Wireless-N 1103->Power Management).
- In Power Options, I set the Wireless Adapter Settings->Power Saving Mode to Maximum Performance for both battery and plugged in.
Since we've done the above, both machines were able to connect to all wireless networks on all bands, none of the machines have dropped the wireless connection a single time nor did we have any ping, packet loss or performance issues after following the above steps anymore.signex likes this. -

I have random lag moments where windows still thinks its connected to a network and no limited connectivity icon appears. I found out that my card was switching between 5ghz network to 2.4ghz network (they both have the same name). Ended up switching off the bandwidth control as well.
Indeed, I have slightly lost faith in the laptop keeping a stable connection. -
My connection today was lost
I updated my router firmware what makes this strange, so maybe i am gonna revert back or it had a odd moment.
Since the new beta drivers no problem, only now one time, let's hope it's because of the router or combination with beta drivers..
Does more people have a problem with channel 36 + 40 (5GHZ)?
If i put it on channel 36 my dropouts are very frequent, even with the new beta drivers, put it on channel 48 + 44 and it's fine. -
-
I live in a area with people having no wifi, I have a Router Asus RT-N56U, this is one of the faster router available.
Also use a Custom firmware on this, only seems that the last update is not ok for me, have reverted 1 version back an have no issues again. 48 + 44 channel
I think it's a problem with the Wifi card and router together, but I guess it's the fault of the Killer Software/Hardware nonetheless, because I NEVER had/have issues with this router or connecting devices whatsoever.
But I think killergaming is on the right way, I mean this Beta drivers seem a big update, they are pretty busy I guess.
My observations are all from a 5GHZ perspective because I don't want to use 2.4GHZ, the reason is because I can use 5 ghz.
-
Ended up reverting to stock Atheros drivers now, started getting limited connection with the latest beta. (Even with tweaks and disabling the bandwidth control). I run simulataneous 5ghz and 2.4ghz but the computer usually connects to the 5ghz channel (no one around has one).
Will see how they are going. -
Been using my cable again, the wifi was working fine but some reasons when I play Starcraft2 i get lag spikes, some times almost nothing, other time like 10 times a minute.......
This doesnt happen on my other laptop so I geuss this is a killer option..
How you guys jitter?
On wireless my Jitter is around 4 - 5ms to well connected places.
Wired it is 0,5 - 1,0 what I think is a big difference o.0.
EDIT: I bought a 6300, not to put it in yet but maybe later if there are still issues, was 20 euro to pick up for me. -
And thanks for the rep btw
I don't play that came, most internet intensive game I play is Sim City haha. Don't notice any internet spikes.
You might as well try the generic drivers from here... Qualcomm, Atheros, Zidas, Attansic, Intellion drivers, firmwares
Second to last section AR9XXX is the chip used in the killer 1103.
10.0.0.239 WHQL might be worth a try, drivers are only 30mb as well! -
It seems killer just sucks ): Intel rocks.

Hello, can someone post the Default Advanced Settings for the Killer Wireless 1103n? I changed them around to see if I could fix the odd drops, but I don't know how to return it to default.
-
Just reinstall the driver and they will be back to standard.
While you are tweaking the settings i can give you another one to try. I am using them and everything is stable and lagless.

Ok, in an effort to not make a stupid mistake and get the wrong thing - what I need is this, right?
Intel Ultimate N 633ANHMW Mini PCI Express Ultimate N 633ANHMW Wireless Adapter - Newegg.com -
YesI am thinking if buying one as well. After 5 months i still have issues with the Killer drivers. Thank got for stock ones
-
OK, I broke down and grabbed a 6300, but wanted a sanity check...
What I believe I need to do is:
1) download the latest driver for the 6300.
2) uninstall the killer drivers
3) open up the system and swap the cards - pull and replace, reconnecting all 3 wires (grey, black, white) on the 6300 as they were on the killer wireless
4) power up, install the drivers for the 6300
that should be it, right? Am I missing something obvious, or have something out of order? -

Seems like a perfect procedure to me, too.

Thanks for the help - just wanted to cross check what I thought with you fine folks here; I'm still learning about much in the computer realm, so while I can do simple things on my system, I always like to touch base and make sure I have a general idea of how it's going to work. -

Ok I have been looking for what WiFi card I should get for my project, but I don't know which one is more stable and/or better. So my question is:
Should I go with killer? why?
Should I go with a non-killer? why?
If a non-killer, which one? -
Go with the highest-end Intel one. Intel networking simply cannot be beat. It's by far the most reliable solution out there, far more so than the Killer junk.
-
I would get the Killer if your ordered a new spec since I think they wil pre wire the 3 antennas otherwire the basic intel card option comes with only 2 antennas pre wired i think.
Get the intel 6300 or probably be best if its aftermarket.
For anyone still holding onto the killer 1103. I use the atheros AR9XXX drivers from station drivers. Version .247 WHQL.
advanced settings,
all standard except both transmit and receive buffers at 512 and advanced mimo power saving enabled.
Been stable for me so far. -

Hey,
Have you guys tried those drivers yet? There are new drivers for the killer card on station drivers. I am gonna try them out then let you know my experience.
Regards. -
New drivers direct from killer gaming. They seem ok for me so far, no tweaks done. Just uninstall old drivers/software and reboot then install the new beta ones.
