Next couple of days ??? I don't think they'd release a new system on Saturday with reduced hours they have on that day. So I guess that means tomorrow? IDK I want to trust you and him but I somehow don't think they'd release a system as anticipated as this on a weekend, but heres to hoping and the fact they'd only get more potential for sales volumes by releasing ASAP in September.

Ok that's what he said, I thought it was a bit trivial but I guess the one thing that had a definite and clear answer from him was that it is indeed an M15x.... I wasn't sure to that point that this was going to be the actual product....

Don't know what crawled up your butt, moo.

Didn't say you were a liar or any of that. I just said that what the one poster said (xeine or whatever) sounded exactly like what you were saying the new M15x would be like.

    That's all....Meh

You guys just need to take an European system to handle your health system... :)

So, will the M15x be SLI? 2 HDDs? What exactly is a mini M17x? Looks like it, smaller? I have a Ferrari miniature and, sadly, it's nothing but a miniature. I mean, if I throw it very hard, it can go fast!!! :D

you know, I was still contemplating water cooling(not necessarily for the M15x, but new AW laptops in general) and how that would turn out in a laptop....

..then realized it would be HEAVY. And moving a laptop around constantly? not a good idea to liquid cool, things can happen; as opposed to a stationary desktop.

    Just thinking aloud.

    Course not....then again I'm amazingly biased :p

    Are dual GDDR5 4870's (M17x) too much to ask? Again, being a biased power-hungry , I don't think so.

Tomorrow is ATI's event, Sept 11. Lets hope they have some good news regarding the mobile front.

A Mobility 5800 card is as unlikely to be in the M15x as SLI is.

There should be more details on the new ATI cards tomorrow as news sites report on what went down at the Evergreen Vision event but so far only the desktop cards have a launch date.

I just know if the Mobility 5000 cards are ever offered in an AW notebook upgrading the M17x is going to be as painful as trying to order a pair of 4850s for the M17.

In case anyone is wondering what the whole Vision thing is about:

Possible that the M15x will have the new ATI cards and they are being co-released tomorrow? We know for sure that ATI is having an event and AW is due to release the M15x any day now

If they release the 5000 cards for the M17x ill bet there will be quite a few M17x for sale vs waiting for an upgrade that will cost god knows how much .

I was litterally going to order the M17x...right when I found this thread. I hadn't checked the board since I had joined and it occured to me to check it just in case. Lo and behold I find links to ATI releases and a possible new M15x.

By the rate I change my mind on what I'm going to buy I wont have a new laptop for years.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dell/AW went the same route they did when they intro'd the M17 instead of upgrading the old Santa Rosa m17x...offer a separate laptop with mobile i7 and 5800 cards.

Yup. Info being reported at the time by news sites suggested that mobile versions were due out first. I base my speculation on the info available at the time.

Hmmm. Breaks out the DPI Calculator.

30" 16:10 screens are 25.4" wide by 16" high so if you stack the monitors 3 high by 2 wide you're still only at 48" tall...that's only big enough for life-sized midget pr0n.

Darn....but then again you if rotate the screens display 90 degrees....

I hope my theory holds true, it would make sense right?!

I am not even interested in a 15" laptop....but the anticipation is killing me haha (and I wouldn't mind some new fancy ATI GPU's although it would become much more of a PITA to switch to integrated - this is all assuming decent mobile driver support that is)
