Mfractal, how do you like the cooler? Just got mine from Amazon (black) and am still getting used to having my rig up on a tilt, so much easier on the wrists eh?

 

it's much easier on the wrists than without.. but i gotta say, even with it, it's a major pain - the edges are sharp and it kinda hurts to keep the hands on it for long.

No, not in your case. What happened to you was simply crap!! I'm referring to people who are expecting it soon but haven't been delayed and haven't called since they made the order.

 

Hey delta, did you file a BBB complaint.

After i did, my system was shipped less than a week later. Then dell called me to make sure i got it and they asked if they could do anything else for me.

Now im not advocating that everyone go out and do a BBB complaint because i only did it because i was delayed 2 months.

That won't make parts magically appear. The problem is still the same.

I think most everyone here doesn't mind waiting for their system. They simply don't want to by lied to. It's like someone driving the car forward when you are trying to get in the passenger seat.. over and over again.

 

i filed a complaint but nothing of it so far.

 

lets hope i don't take pictures of my M17xR2 with my canon dslr T2i that i ordered on 3/5, because that would just be pathetic.

 

Makes sense I don't have my M17x R2 yet....Dell hasn't even charged me for it yet. *sigh* the wait continues.

Did any of the Aussies here manage to get a better deal than the list price for their machine? If so how? I just asked in online chat and got a 'sorry we don't do deals on alienware'.

 

I really should have ordered this thing with the second video card. Big mistake

I called to get a price on it and was told by an AW tech support guy it would cost me $517 for the secondary card and wire as opposed to $300 while ordering.

Maybe Dell will honor the $300 price when I call to send it back. I really can't go through this ordeal again, because I need to do work on it.

Do they have an EPP site where you are? 10% off if they do. and another $50 off for signing up for E-mails. Your first e-mail will be a coupon.

In the US its dell.com/epp

Or tell them your a college student when you call.

 

There does appear to be an epp site (what does that stand for by the way?) but it is asking me to 'Enter assigned EPP Sales Person code located on your EPP flyer:'

No idea what that is or how to get one. Sorry if this info is elsewhere on the forum, I can go looking if it is.

 

For Australians the current price is already discounted. I would expect to jump maybe up to 1k. The current price is on par with getting it from usa (price usa or evolution). The m15x did the same thing I believe. In the order it is a line item "no further discounts". I got a free carry bag and discount software offer, then a mouse for the massive delays experienced. But even with letters to AUS/NZ sales manager I could not get a budge.

 

is there a drop down list below the area to enter a number? If so select one of those segments and see if it works. I just tried it and the price reflects a discount but not sure what happens when you complete the order.

They do have an EPP but unfortunately its harder to become a member in Australia.

They have also abolished the 10% discount and will not discount the price at all, unless you try really hard... like I did.

the way I got was the following:

1. Set up your system online with the extras you want and take note of the price.
2. Call DELL and speak to someone to place your order and spend a bit of time with them going through everything (this is a major part of the process as the more time you spend the better the discount - no one wants to spend 30 mins on the phone to someone and then not get a sale)
3. The absolute best they will be able to do will be 10% and hassle them for it. What I did was tell them i was going to get a W700 from Lenovo instead if the price wasn't suitable as I needed it ASAP so they eventually gave me the discount.

REMEMBER: You will probably need to make payment straight away for them to give you good price. Tell them you will pay for it right now if they can do at least 10% or whatever amount your are willing to pay.

 

I just got my system at 6pm. I had the laptop unboxed in less then 5 mins. Boy the screen is Bright. I had to cut the lighting to 50%. But the frist test I did was from 3dmark06 and hitting 12500

 

ugh i wish i had the laptop using my iphone is starting to really suck on the plus side tho ive gotten real good with the touch keyboard on it

I am hitting 16874 with my Desktop...(I know, I know it's a Desktop) but it is Speced out way weaker.

I was hoping the mighty Core i7
with 1333Mhz Ram would be able to atleast crack the upper 19,000s

Dell says EDD 3/12/10 & Fed Ex says EDD 3/11/10
I would say Fed would be more accurate since they are doing the actual delivery.... has anyone ecountered conflicting dates from Dell & fed-Ex & if so which one turned out to be accurate? I am planning on taking a sick Day...

you can get next business day shipping for free. Everyone can. its a fairly simple process.

keep that in mind for the next time you order from dell, i suppose.

you call in the day after your order was placed and say you need your system asap for school or work. they'll send an expedite request to the factory and also upgrade your shipping method to the best one possible, for free.

that more people don't do this is beyond my comprehension.
