im probs gonna by this baby, hows your screen matey - only stuck on what res to buy now
-
read my review, dude
-
I've read it, just wondering apart from the bright pixel is it a nice screen, bright etc. - pleasant to use?
-
Can someone help me out with the fake dead pixel?
http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic92039.html
If i boot up without any software startup, it's not there. But I just don't know which service or software. D a m n it. -
then how about whilst in windows and it's there you start closing applications and ending processes until it goes away...
-
Never goes away.
I suspect it's the ATI driver.
Now, I install tons of ATI user create program, it went away with the background. I get the background back, the pixel doesn't come back. So I think those program screwed some ATI stuff which fixed my problem. Will test more. -
Do you have messenger plus installed?
-
Nope, fresh from AW. nothing installed.
It appears in the middle of loading the startup programs, and stay there forever and the pixel is on top of everything. -
-
****, very good, very quick review.
Rep up for you Fusion.
But, how runs Crysis? By words I mean, not by number. -
buggy, because I can't apply the patch. I will find the fix and run it again.
-
I hope the heat problem isn't universal - I'll be sure to check this asap when mine arrives.
-
For that fake pixel, if you see it during the boot screen, then it's either a bad screen or a bad video card (which may be the case with your temperatures). If it only appears after Vista loads up, then it's most likely a driver issue. I would recommend using the new Catalyst 8.11 drivers, seen here:
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx
The driver increased my Counter Strike Stress Test score from 167 fps to 184 fps. -
So as the keyboard can be changed between R, G and B. Is it done with software or is it built in. Otheriwse RGB could be used to make any colour.
-
good question. i don't think it's done via software, because otherwise, wouldn't AW be advertising the unlimited color possibilities?
-
It's hardware.
-
uh huh, three separate LEDs for the three colors. still, if you could somehow regulate the intensity (and activity) of all three LED groups at once, you might be able to display any RGB color.
-
-
it's BLUE...
-
Can we get some more pics?
-
All be doing my review also al be doing an unboxing video all all the setup video for you guys.
-
How's the battery life on the M17? Also is it pretty quiet? I'd imagine it gets louder when playing games.
-
Well When I boot it up I got around 1:43 minutes estimate
-
Mike, don't install ANYTHING, go download the latest ATI Tool, HWmonitor PRO and GPU-Z to test the temp first. PLZ....
-
-
http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/
don't worry about the driver issue, you are going to only use it for burn test.
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
notice, you have to choose one of the card for temp reading. Only 1 will work during atitools. -
-
****
something is wrong.
can you use snipping tool to screen shot it for me? -
-
65 is too cold for it, seriously.
No one gets that cold, even with those super cool mod from the killernotebook gets to 85 degree.
Did you choose the sensor for the GPU that is actually doing the work in ATITools?
Screenshots would be great. -
more pictures added, btw.
-
After 15 min temps were 66c so there good uploading pic right now
-
Picture is in my review
-
Dude, you select the wrong GPU to test temp.
Choose the second one from the bottom of the GPU-Z.
You see the GPU load is 0% in your picture? -
If your temperature is as high as mine, then we are safe.
Because it means mine is not defective. -
Unigine Benchie is up, it's a pretty good benchmark software.

-
steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
Not yet qaz, I just reordered a week or so ago, so I haven't gotten it yet, I plan to do a small review, showing a few benches, but nothing big seeing how there are quite a few reviews out on the m15x already.
-
1 gpu 3d mark 06 updated.
-
hmm decent crysis scores it reallys seems like your cpu is bottle necking you cards though
-
I think so, but I am not playing crysis, and it's fast enough for other game until the price of CPU comes down, then I will upgrade to save money.
T9600 is $624 CAD now from AW, I will probably get it for 400 to 500$ later and sell my P8400 for 150 or 100, then I save couple hundred bucks. -
Im stuck on the processor i want for my m17, T9600 or the QX9300, overkill maybe but i love it. I like the price of the T9600 setup but the QX9300 for futurproofing. I hope to have this laptop last 4+ years.
-
future is unknown.
-
which do you think is the better option? price being an issue but not a major one. The only thing im stuck on is the processor, its about a £500 difference between the two.
