    I'm happy.

    My $3k M1730 only hit 10.5k 3dmarks.

Compare that to this $2k system and we have a winner (not to mention cranking up a P8600 to 3GHz)

There will be updated drivers at some point, don't you think?

No offense, but I've been following the thread of people who have their M17x's now and it seems many of them are unexperienced with OC'ing and just plain general tweaking of a performance laptop.

The new rig is just now getting into the hands of more seasoned "optimizers". ;)

they will be updated but the drivers for the core of the 9800m gtx (G92/ i think)

they won't give as big of boost with this card since they are more mature.

as soon as i get mine i will OC the card and CPU and try to get records SON :D

    vantage first :p

13 fps, and a 280 gets 17 fps. That means a 4 fps difference.Well, at low fps it makes a noticable difference(can difenitly tell the difference between 13 and 17 fps.But when it gets up like 60 fps and 64 fps it doesn't matter.I'll still wait and see a benchmark of real GTX 260M.

It wouldn't be hard. Flash the vbios with an overvolt, start at 630/1575/1000 and go from there. Use 185.20 for vantage. Use Dox 182.46 for 3dmark06. Overclock QX9300 to ~3.2. Break records, write about it, /end.

The benchmarks won't be any more interesting than John or Vic's scores, but I'd really like to know the temps when this thing is pushed to the brink. But from what I've seen it's not in the enthusiast's hands yet. Gotta wait...

    I get 18.68 FPS DX10 very high at 1680 x 1050..

    If the sli 280M can get 25 FPS at 1920 x 1200, it's passable.

If you're posting benchmarks that aren't from an M17x please make it clear what machine they are for so there's no confusion.

Sigs aren't good enough because people change them or change their PCs.

Bah, someone will overclock it rediculously, and itl blow the older cards out the water :p

Manufactured on a smaller die, and higher clocks here :D i would think when pushed to its limits it could really put out some great numbers, but only time will tell!

well the core itself is at it limits. it won't be able to go up to much farther. anothergeek got his memory to break 1000. which so far for me hasn't worked(never past 950 'lol)

so after this they will do the gddr5. on a 128bit bus. and then the 300 series.

    A Single 260m?

Thats really good.Ok, this card awesome again.Especially being able to conquer Far Cry 2 well over 30+ fps.Thats way better than the 3870s in Crossfire. So a single GTX 260m is an awesome card by itself, imagine SLI!

not really depends on the specs. my qx9300 @3.2ghz and 3870x2 stock I got 61fps average, 25fps min and 140fps max. sorry I am not on a computer to post pics

but my overclocked 9800m gtx single and e8600 @3.33ghz
was 41.03 average, 20.73 min, and 69.06 max.

for crysis. can you do high.

During the benchmark in crysis you should see Multigpu or Mgpu up at the top of the screen if its running in SLI .

You can also create System.cfg file and add this line to it as to make sure its using SLI

    R_multigpu=1

Put it in the main crysis directory :)

Mandrake, could you install the other original nvidia driver and re-test crysis?
