So why are you waiting? the 260's or 280's will both handle everything now and upcoming until the DirectX11's so....

I have to say, I am heavily comtemplating selling my whitebook and getting the sams club deal on m17x.

 

Because I wanted to and can...but I'm about at my limit now.

 

yeah i was at my limits with my whitebook and the 48 series as well.

 

I think my goal now is to beat Kcissem 3Dmark score.

yeah they are. your cpu score does go up with quads by a good amount.

 

So then... I don't think if Kcissem is able to OC properly as well, then the X9100 can't compete at least in 3d mark 06

for the record...there is a bug with 3dmark06/gtx/quad core. and it's very easy to see it.
run only gpu test 1/2 & 5/6 using cores 2/3. then run the test again using all 4 cores. you will see what i mean.(quad core users only) that is why it's so hard for you guys to catch my 9262 score of 16,853 on 3dmakr06

Well your not far and the fact your on a dual core says a whole lot. My Quad in the W90 took me from 15,400ish to 17,000 ish so that was quite the boost.

He should be able to hit 17k fairly easy with the right set of drivers but like he said he lost the motivation to keep benching his system which is understandable. Its a love hate thing .

although i am playing battlefield 2 project reality and Cryostasis. ill be glad when they up the settings for BF2 though...

Its all good John i know you got the itch when i first saw the desktop you built to just start playing around with to what you ended up with now LOL. Huge difference lol . You could have bought 2 M17x for all the scratch you dumped on that thing . As long as your happy though thats all that counts .

Now that the Clevo was released and they seemed to have crippled the bios for the moment the speculating is over which will be the better system, so you can buy the M17x for certain.

 

Mandrake, could you pls tell me your values(core,shader and mem clock) with you got 12k on vantage

 

i can't even explain it..yeah, im past happy with it. like the old saying goes..."i can play any and everything thing thrown at it" lol

although with the m17x setup...i would probably be extremely happy as well...you can mess with all the settings and that's what's needed to master your over clocks

Yeah thats why we need ya back for that very reason, you can tinker with the M17x till your blue in the face much like a desktop(to a degree).

Haha i know i love how Biscuits created the Owners lounge for a machine he didnt get .

The 9280 though is quite the beast but not my cup of tea so to speak.

 

The Sager/Clevo crowd don't seem as enthused of their new product.

 

yeah quad, when mandrake showed me the m17x settings i was like...wow! a real desktop replacement.

 

Aside from Voltage adjustments it really is a desktop replacement for the Enthusiast crowd , We just need someone to crack that Bios open so we can tinker the Voltage or hope that Alienware/Dell would see the light and release it in an update.

 

Hey Mandrake can you download the Resident Evil 5 benchmark from the thread i made and post your results there ? Dondahdah is looking for someone to compare his sytem to and its been a rocky start thus far with people participating .

Resident Evil 5 benchmark thread but for now will leave that desktop scores out as i didnt even submit mine rather it be for laptops only .

 

are ya crazy! im not posting any desktop benchmarks in a laptop thread i only posted my vantagemark one to show my friends i can do it with a desktop as well.. ...although i may mention it from time to time should i break a record or two...lol

edit: besides...i want to test out that game.
