Booting is one thing :) prime is something all together different. then of course there is other things like benchmarks where its fine in prime but benchmarks either crash or wont start etc.

Its ok though im having fun (i think :)).

I may just start my OS from scratch now that i got the Quad and some other issues sorted out .

I found the highest stable multi (prime stable) then adjusted fsb from there - that way you have minimal stress on the NB and ram. For me it came out to 10.5x on multi and 286.9 (since setfsb doesnt like whole numbers?) on the FSB gave me 3014 MHz. Not the best OC, but beats 2527 and was ROCK solid.

    :(

did you also try NST. it seems you can use the bios to push it to 2.93 and then use nst for the extra mhz that you need to break 3.0 just a thought.

Ya i have been toying with that idea abit . But currently in the bios i have plenty of room to spare with the FSB etc so id rather not use that for overclocking but i may give it a try .

not the 260. the 280 is 6400 and the 9800m gtx is 5800. so you need to break 6000k

    this is for everyone...
vantagemark is best ran with no tweaks. only one setting needs to be changed. and that's the one from quality to performance. and tha'ts it.

vantagemark seems to work against you if you go tweaking the settings for the most part....you get your rendering and over clocks and cooling right..your scores will go up.

    great run mr moo!!

That is some Serious clocking on the cards there Moo. At some point if your clocks are to high the numbers are going get worse even if the card doesnt flake out and not respond etc.

only 3.0 MXM cards besides of Clevo

10 more mhz on the core sharder and mem cause vantage to freeze up :(

ill try some drivers but .....6200 tops for now which isn't bad on a p8600 @ 3.15 ghz

drop the memory 5 mhz and run it again.
then try dropping 2 mhz off the core
the n raise the shader up 5 mhz.

will do in the morn i worked 10am yesterday till 12:30 tonight ...

I am beat  knees hurt and i sat in the police office running benchs with DSL ... can some one PM me the current verified world record holder? 260/280 :)

will try tomorrow if you will PM me with any suggestions you might have i would Love it :D

and im need to talk to kevin jack and anothergeek about my card since the memory is only rated for 1100 so i am not sure how i would proceed from there because a overvolt would let my clocks run WILD. I am already running 1100 on the memory stable....

How about lowering down from 32-bit coloring? In 3DMark06 it gives you 50 points extra. It doesn't seem to affect much the quality.

Gpu's top is 12044 vantage by mandrake.

Beaut scores, could moo top that with a fully complete flashed m17x?

I think the m17 could top that quite easily too with the 4850s and a qx.

    Again, great scores.

Well ATI has the advantage in 3dmark06. Most people pay no attention to 06 scores anymore. it needs to die vantage is what counts now and nvidia wins there.

that is why you turn Phsyx off, either way it only boosts the cpu. Does nto affect the GPU scores.

Still, a score is a score right?

And most XP users are 32-bit. XP 64 was horribly unstable compared to Vista 64 - ironically (also not very available)

With ForceWare 185.95. Drivers that do not work with Vista. I have no idea if they work with XP. Also a Hitachi hdd. I thought these all came with Seagates.

It just seems fishy. It was run before the average consumer could get their hands on one.

XP scores are always 300-500 points higher. this argument use to come up all the time back in the day but then everyone moved on to Vista . Oh and im not looking for argument but the best person to ask about this will be Johnksss :).

doesn't really matter whether it's xp or not, if the score is true it is the record as far as i'm aware for 06 & m17x no matter how dated the os or benchmark test is. Maybe i need to try to tweak again and do a suicide run just to beat it :p

Nah just install XP and you will beat it Kcissem believe me . If you scored 16,600 then you will be next for the number one record :) Believe it or not though it does matter in the Benchmarking community though :) Not to me personally though because i could give 2 squats but i was just stating a fact .
