you know...i can't even say...i know a few of them will try, but most say they aren't hard core bench markers...me...i would go after them all...im a hard core bench marker...lol

    try this...
bench 3dmark06 over clocked on test 1/2 & 5/6 then not over clocked. the only test that should really change allot is test 5. the others will be very minor if at all...

I don't want to start a new thread for this question so here it is:

Why is it better when OC to have a faster memory speed than FSB? Can someone tell me the exact correlation in between the two?

    Here is what I understand:

FSB speed is the speed at which the CPU communicates with the RAM. If the RAM's speed is less than the FSB than information is just waiting to be processed creating a bottleneck. Correct?

those are not stock scores, stock score for your setup in the sig would be about 13.5k in 06, and around 10k in vantage.

my system in sig was stock 13.5k and 10.3k. OC'd was 16690 and 11609

15883 is what I get stock, not sure how you get your scores so low. There is no way you have such low scores stock. There is a problem with your PC.

15883 is impossible with qx9300 2.53ghz. Can you re-do it with stock cpu?

I'm looking for *graphics* scores. Not the overall score. In 3dmark06 that's the SM 2.0/3.0 scores. In Vantage it is broken up to CPU/GPU like this:

Overall score doesn't mean anything to me. My overall 3dmark06 scores are better on my desktop compared to my Sager because I was running my CPU at 4ghz compared to 3.33ghz on the Sager but the graphics scores of my Sager were way better. So I'm looking for direct comparison between just regular stock 280M and 9800M GTX SLI without the CPU changing up the overall score.

I dont understand, OC'd your CPU score is lower...while your GPU registers as higher...

    ..why is that?

Thats not what I meant though, non OC'd the CPU score is 30k

    OC'd its 12k

ultimately resulting in a lower overall score when OC'd
    which.. makes no sense

Ya that's just physx dude. It is unfairly boosting the cpu score because FM did a poor job of encorporating it - I think the physx score should be its own category, or a feature test.

Well, if you have a physx card and ati then you can still do it. This is what i had for a while:

until I upgraded to dual GTX 275 and was willing to accept geforce physx instead haha

Lol go for it don . im just working out the kinks in finding the best CPU OC right now. In between that im installing different Nvidia drivers .

Ill get some benches up soon though im sure . I ran GTA4 and got 53fps with my settings and with that dual core i was lucky to get 38 and the game ran horrid on the dual core .

nice. i'm glad i'm seeing something.

so far what are your clocks on the cpu. i hope you can break 3.07 cause i know this manchine can handle it. and since you have two beast, you're gonna have to put ati or nvidia or m17 or m17x so we know what's up. but i know that gta4 run was with the m17x

the most i can get the M17x with the Qx9300 stable so far is 2.93 . its not liking 3.06 at all . Thats why it will take some time figuring out all the different ways to hit higher clocks that are 24/7 stable as thats what im looking for . Suicide runs are fun and all that but i need stability .

The M17 wont be benchmarked period as it stands . right now im using it to type as i run benchmarks since i threw in the P8600 from the M17x into it and the 1066 ram as well till i sell it barebones or what ever .

the stock bench was ran with phyix turned on thus artifically inflating the cpu score (has no effect on gpu), but i turned it off on the vantage score when i oc'd so it would be offficial.

i see. try to lower the multiplier one from 2.93(i don't remember the number) and raise the fsb.

also you should be able to link the ram since you have 1333 unless it won't boot. if my math is correct at 1333 you should hit 3.2ghz but i know voltage is still a big issue.

and here's my old qx9300. i didn't want to put my my powerful P4 and people start to get jealous.

I have been experimenting with the 9x multi vs the 9.5 and the FSB etc. its all trial and error and is going to take me sometime to sort it out now that i have a grasp on things.

When i got the Q9200 i didnt know where to begin lol since its been a while and all my desktops were abit different to OC and my i7 is entirely different . So again in time ill hopefully get a handle on things.

I do have the 1333 ram in now but i also have the 1066 here to maybe play around with if i dont find im getting enough stability from the other . But all this stuff doesnt happen in 10 minutes lol.
