Well I never did benchmarking, but just did some for the first time, just to look and see what this thing could do. Purely stock drivers and no tweaking (except from the QX9300).
Hopefully you can tell me more about the results, because I surely am a Noob at this.
Also a screenshot after running vantage of the temps.
I noticed that Core#3 is always more hot as the rest... (any suggestions could it be the thermal paste?)

Your temps are still within range. Which thermal paste did you use?

Your scores look normal with default drivers and I'm assuming Hybrid is enabled.

I used MX-2 thermal paste (I'm not sure if it's applied totaly correct, I used the amount of just 1 grain of rice in the middle of each of the two dies. Afterwards spreading it out evenly). But those chinese dudes smuther the whole copperplate of the heatsink with their thermal stuff... Looked as if it was cemented  I Had to get it off with alcohol 70% and a chisel :D I figured less is better when re-applying.

Hybrid is indeed enabled. Guess it could get better if I installed some better drivers? Current stock version: 7.15.11.7985.

MX-2 is good stuff and it sounds like you applied it correctly. Better drivers will get you a better score but they are not necessarily better for everyday use.

Anybody is using the benchmark database at
    http://www.notebookforums.com/laptop-benchmarks.html ?

I know it is a different notebook forum and it is a bit outdated, but it would be much easier to find benchmarks for comparison with your own system rather than browsing through hundreds of forum pages of different threads. You can also search for specific laptop brands and configurations.

Can someone ask Steve@NBF to update that database to include the latest systems + generic ones (if you can't find your own entry)?
Also it would be useful a table field that includes the link to the specific forum thread that posts pictures of the benchmarks.

We could also make a sticky thread with links to such benchmarks databases.

We have our own but it's still in it's infancy. I can't find the thread that was created for it. Looks like it disappeared.

    Hello,

I just wanted to share my results with 3dMarks06 and wanted to know if anyone can give me some feed back on whether this result is good enough for the M17X (first time bench marker). I got 15357 and my specs are in my sig.

    Cheers,

I'm going to re-run my benchmarks once I receive my Q9200, hopefully I can post some serious scores and break 12k GPU on Vantage and 16k+ on 3dmark 06 the 3mb cache per core should give me a bit of help.

I'll run Vantage and 3dmark 06 with the CPU as high as it will let me stable, probably 2.93 and hopefully 3.06 and I'll run the benches twice each, once each with affinity set to cores 0 and 1 to see the differences in score from running quad and dual..

I'm at 3.35Ghz right now. Test stability. I'm not sure why so many people have an issue with getting this chip over 3Ghz.

Edit: System locked, I'm bringing it down to 3.33Ghz.

Just CPU overclocking? There must be a reason you are scoring that high with not touching the GPU settings. What can or WILL you tell us? :D

I ask because if it is the OEM hopefully is a good batch that all the HP OEM chips will be from (hopefully!)

Johnksss gave me tips for a better score a while ago. BTW, this has nothing to do with my CPU. I ran the 16.6K with my cpu @ 3.25Ghz. I don't know if you saw my other posts but I'm using a qx9300 right now and I know people are complaining they have issues getting it over 3Ghz.

I think with a combination of multiplier and FSB over clocking, most might find they get better results.

Have you tried it this way yet, and if so, how was the result?

I'm surprised you guys managed to get OEM QX9300's for 500.00$ USD, thats pretty sweet, I would have got one, but I think its for US customers only and I already ordered this Q9200 for 225.00 USD, I hope it OC's well and it turns out to be a good deal.
