hummm, talke to AW today and they said the 900p screens are in fact single lamp and the 1200p screens are dual lamps...now just how true that is...i have no clue..me, i would probably have taken the screen apart by now to verify.

    Just ordered an M17x:

    Black Metallic
    QX9300 2.53GHz
    2x nVidia GeForce 280M GTX
    4GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz
    17" WUXGA (1920x1200)
    500GB HDD @ 7200rpm
    Blu-Ray

Should arrive around July 17th. Feels like an eternity. And I hope to post some game benchmarks. Crysis, Supreme Commander, Empire: Total War, Fallout 3, not sure what else. Probably stock first then OC'ed and tweaked after.

Oh and I won't be buying/downloading games I don't want just for the sake of benchmarking. Just throwing it out there.

Nice, wasn't even gonna spring for the player to be honest. Decided to at the last minute. I have some experience with overclocking, so I hope to bring home some killer benchmarks. I'm sure I'll spend some time in these forums getting help from those more knowledgeable.

I'm up for running a few benchmarking tools. But personally, the only meaningful results come from actually running games and programs. Theres just no point in blowing Vantage or 3DMark away if I can't get a decent framerate in Crysis, you know?

This is just to try to fix the overclocking problem

    I don't like 3dmark06
    vantage is not CPU dependent
Also need some help trying to OC these 260 and 280's

Ctrl+Alt+F1 didn;t work. I am RMAing my lappy due to a MB issue. The wireless issue I was having was related to the MB and not a software. At least I have this system for testing until I get the other one.

It does not pick the wireless signals as it should be. I have around 10 wireless signals in my house which all other computers I have can pick but this one can only see the one from my router and even right next to the router it picks 2 bars.

i have some benchmarks coming at stock speeds first, i've already ran 3dmark06 @ 1280x1024 and 1900x1200.

1280x1024 at stock settings & drivers was 13,500
1900x1200 at stock settings & drivers was 12,900

they seemed like pretty low scores in my opinion though

but i still plan on running 3dmark vantage and pcmark vantage at same settings, then do it all again after i overclock everything. I will be starting a thread of my own with my benchmarks once completed. Expect to see a thread pop up by the end of the weekend with stock benchmarks, overclocked benchmarks will come sometime next week.

also screenshots will and have been taken with the scores as well as temps

Wow, those scores are low, but it is 3DMark'06.
    My scores where:
    13400
    13100

    @ex2j
I haven't ran the Crysis benching tool, but I have played 4 hours of Crysis @ 1900x1200 no AA on Very High and the game has been liquid smooth.

With my [email protected] and 280M stock, I'm looking at lower 12,000's. Only ~1000 more points with sli sounds low, but that's because your CPU bottlnecked. OC your QX9300 to 3.2ghz and you'll score over 16k.

In vantage, CPU speed wouldn't make a difference since it's very stressful even for the best desktop GPUs.

Yeah, my desktop E8400 @ 4GHz and single 4870 (no OC) get 15,300 in 06.

Gotta run vanatage here soon. Be back in a bit!

yeah that's low. for my [email protected] and stock 9800m gtx i get 10,100 and then i overclocked the stuffing out of it and got 12,500 but that's with an old driver and i haven't tried it since.

you know what i notice. with ati, when you overclock the cpu the fps in dmc4 doesn't change. but with nvidia, the second and the fourth scence does. does anyone know why.

i have test for ati with 2.53ghz dual, 2.53 quad, 3.06 dual, 3.06 quad and nothing has changed. nothing what so ever but with nvidia i see it matters??????

    can't want for your results.
