    @spikerules

    thanks for clearing somethings up for me. Everything on my M7x is stock, no overclocking. I just ran 3DMARK06 with the 186.81 drivers and nearly got 13000. 12,994 was the score i got, i guess that is good for now.

    I have a q9000 with 280m sli 4gb ram and am finding it hard to find others in this forum benching 3dmark06. I have my q9000 stable at 2.5 however have to install nvidia sytem tools again to see if i can go higher. As i cant find too many other 3dmark scores with a o/c cpu and stock gpus i dont really know how where my score rates as not too many to compare.My best is 12900 something which i think is a little low and that was with cpu at 2.5 running 186.91 drivers in windows 7 64 bit. Can any of the cool kids here tell me if im on track or is my score too low

    your gonna have to over clock gpus if you want to get anywhere benching wise...

    this is a great score for being stock.

    everyone coming through here would prefer N O T to over clock...but when it's just sitting there waiting for it...they tend to W A N T to over clock..

    as for 1 4850 beating your sli 260m's...should tell you something is surely wrong.

    What are you expecting out of your computer....

    You said your girl's single gpu is killing your notebook. Really.

    Throw up some runs. Both manchines. And we can go on from there.

    Note.
    You cpu is killing you. 2.0 is not going to get you high numbers unless you overclock. Unless it fully uses a quad. And even then it's shaky

    Tuffday

    Really. What are you going to do. If the clocks are 500/1000/400 then your going to push it to 510/1050/420?

    Lmao

    What drivers i should use any in particular?

    Should i have my 9400m disabled?

    yeah it has lol. at that time. i didn't know anything about computers and when i got the 8600m gs. i didn't know anything about overclocking and when i did and saw my score jumped so much, i thought i was boss.

    @mandrake
    stop hating :)

    i remember someone did with the 280m sli in another thread and got 205 for the gpu score.. lol

    @everyone
    i wonder if the 280m has any micro stutter like the 8600m gs did? when i had the 9800m gtx i did notice it but it was for about 2 mins when i first got it and then it was fine. the 8600m gs got me so mad. when anything named graphics got turned up it just dipped so much.

    Plus I have run some single card benchmarks. I would have to go back through this thread to find them. Next time I have a few hours to play I will try the single card stuff again.

    dammn, just came from the gateway forums and their still high on 3dmark06 and low over clocks.(9800m gts is the best over clocking gpu on the planet. as far as mobiles go. doesn't mean you'll gain allot, but it sure over clocks like a mad man.)..and with the drivers they have now...i could make one of them 9800m gts scream..lol

    actually, all my BSOD so far have had no error or have been IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL or no message at all (didnt catch the stop code)

    When I got those on my desktop it was bad ram, but just tested all 4 sticks I got (g.skill and kingston) individually and all passed.

    But I just ran OCCT for an hour at stock speeds with kingston ram in vista (no raid) no errors. It is sad that this is exciting for me, but it is progress!

    edit: hell of a 1500th post haha

    Hi again all! I would love to know what people with a Q9000 at stock and SLI (also at stock) are getting in vantage? I am getting 8999, when overclocked to 2.4GHz... this seems very wrong to me! Have I got a faulty laptop?

    My power cable was damaged so I replaced my IEC cable, could this be a power issue? thanks!

    I do seem to be getting a buzzing sound from the power block... a bit worried now :( I'm also wondering whether my system is properly utilizing SLI... my score seems more like a single card score??

    Edit - Just noticed something else interesting... my CPU speed keeps switching between 1.8GHz and 2.35GHz... anyone know a reason for this?

    the CPU switching is to save power when full speed is not needed

    Make sure that you are running in SLI by opening the Nvidia Control Panel, going to 3D Settings (at very top of screen with file,edit,view,help) and select Show SLI Visual Indicators

    This will make a vertical faded green line on the left hand side of your screen if you are in a 3D program where SLI can be utilized and SLI is enabled. Hopefully this will help

    Well 3180 MHz (10x 1272) gave me a System_Service_Excetion BSOD, what usually would be the cause of one of these?

    This used to be my goto OC :( now it seems to be unstable

    Edit - 13.1k on 06 cpu @ 2.45GHz

    The bios wont let me go any higher than 1333MHz... shame :(

    you can use NST to push further than 1333, this is what Moo had to do.

    Update: So I was OCCT stable (1 hour) at 3170, I can probably live with a 10 MHz hit...

    starting benchmark runs now :)

    question...are you setting the ram to it's lowest setting then trying to clock it up?
    because that's what you need to do.
    1333 ram needs to be dropped down to a starting point of like 1066 or 800 and then you work your way up by over clocking, else get the irq and memory errors because it's out of sync...

    tis is true mr moo...but you know how i think...means we haven't tried everything yet.. :).. even if we really did.. :mad:

    i heard the same...but sometimes the standards are not always better in all cases. (especially when trying to break records)

    if that we're true...you would be satisfied with a stock m17x and no testing..just playing games and being an all around happy camper. :D

    check out the next version of the 5800's while you wait for them to come to the mobile platform. or a 295x2..lol
