    M17x and DPC Latency

    It's for the M17x and it's the A03 BIOS. Does it work? Don't know, but the documentation that comes with it says its for the M17x.

    BIOS Change:
    1. Fixed the RAID Setup Utility is failed in AMD VGA card platform.

    EC change:
    1. Update the Thermal Table 2009-08-17.
    2. Match with OSD 2.20 fixed AMD card Fn+F6 issue.
    3. Modify CPU thermal read method to reduce the system loading.

    I think EC change 3 is what we're all interested in.

    u should check ur raid setting as bios update will usually change it back to default (not raid).

    I downloaded it... Gonna take the plunge I think. Waiting for a date to get ready, what else is there to do?

    It would at least appear that nobody has had their machine bricked yet, correct?

    EDIT - if I don't hear otherwise in the next 45 seconds I'm doing it.

    No spare HDs with windows installed, but i literally just opened up and installed this SSD a week ago after my last one died, so i can try reinstall win7 on it

    i have ocz vertex too. it happened to me too once before. i run system repair using win7 dvd (usb actually). select fix boot something like that

    f12 to boot menu works
    win7 pro x64 install dvd working so far...
    yeah, last time it died fix boot didn't work, i couldn't install a new OS on it, and other computers couldn't read the HD using an external enclosure.

    Yeah, you can go to the directory directly

    then find the x64 installer there, it'll work

    but my computer doesnt.

    It started without me!!!!

    Holy CARP I've never had such a jolt. I had winphlash running in the background, had NOT clicked "flash BIOS", and all the sudden my fans all went to max. I really quickly shut Chrome and unplugged my iphone and hoped they didn't break anything....

    But it worked! AND my DPC latency is ALL GREEN! W00T!

    Tried the A03, spikes exist but are limited. I have to test sound and check for stuttering. For testing purposes I run everything at stock frequencies (CPU, RAM, GPUs etc)

    *EDIT*
    Still sound stuttering but only when the spikes hit 65K+ μs

    Ok i just tried. no problem with os and ocz vertex.

    SAD but TRUE. i still get red spikes.... when loading webpages or random but they are more rare. this bios fixed the red lines that never led to sound stuttering

    i hope someone with vista tries this and feedback. please stress your system like with loading webpages, listening online music. i am going to try cod now to see if any lags there. 195.81 driver.maybe i should try with 186.82 too but i am not very hopeful.

    what exactly are you doing that causes the stutter?

    EDIT- just found that I have regular spikes up to 67k, but only when my iphone is plugged in..

    I watch a video on youtube, I let it fully load and then play it from the beginning and I also test it by playing a few mp3s with the windows media player

    I get stutter only with spikes higher than 55K μs

    been watching DPC latency checker, green 99% of the time with approx 1 67k spike per minute.
