If you drop your memory down to 1066 does it change? It seems high.

We still get no pictures of the magical BIOS in this machine? Any respectable motherboard reviewer includes the BIOS

A review is to help those who don't already have one in front of them to play with....

I am planning on buying one of these in the next week or two and want to be excited over it now! haha

 

Imagine a special place in the bios that has the title "Overclocking". Inside you will find things that people with desktops normally see. Only a select few M17x owners have seen all that it has to offer!

Yep nice review Moo. Maybe thumb nail the pics since there so large or just shrink them a tad but other then that good stuff .

Well you can figure out all the other stuff i have seen you do so thumbnailing a pic should be a breeze .

 

How about noise? Cooling is good, but something should be said about noise levels, when doing normal work, and when gaming.

And perhaps ergonomics. Is it comfortable to game on this machine, the edges seems to scream exhausted wrist.

 

This pretty much what sold me on the system. I was planning get the 17in Macbook Pro, but it doesnt have a numpad for some odd reason. I am going to school and need that because I use numpad a lot. I dont mind big heavy machines because they are still lighter then whats on my back when I go hiking but wanted a solid system. Last 17in laptop literally fell apart after a year and I just don't wanna go through that again. I do game in spare time so want that option. Thanks for the review

Have you compared the M17x screen to previous non-AW laptops? I thought the colours were a bit too rich, especially the red. Now, I'm not doing a mac screen comparison coz those seem to be more tuned to printing (which doesn't have to be aligned with 'on-screen' colours). But comparing to other non-glossy laptops and compensating for their non-vibrance, this screen seems to have reds a bit overdone. Looking for RGB changes I can make globally in the nvidia control panel.

The speakers surprised me the most, 2nd to the size and weight of this beautiful beast! Was very happy with sound quality, surround effect and undistorted loudness. I've been able to game quite a bit without headphones coz the speakers are so good.

 

Yep, you got that right, I tested out a lot of games on my M17X/music has also been played, excellent sound system.

 

i adjusted my colors a bit but overall on all my laptopos (6) its the best

 

Hey Moo have you experimented with the Advanced AlienFX control yet? strobing, morphing etc...
