lol nah i think the pulsing would give me some ideas for photoshop on mixing colors. that is one of main reasons for the pulsing plus i was going to have it on a slow pulsing not the strobe effect. i think that would be a little to much

I have been skulking around the forums for a few months now trying to decide what bloody laptop to buy. First it was the Clevo 8662 but then realizing I spend way too much in front of my laptop that a 15" was too small I started looking at 17"+.

For over a month now I debated between the M17X and NP9850. I had decided on the Clevo with a single 280 and base CPU. With the NP9850 pushed back and single GPU no longer an option I decided M17X it is.

I had not really configured M17X until just a few days ago as I thought the system would be well out of my price range. With the EPP 7% discount and only upgrading the LCD and 260 SLIs it is around $2165. I pulled a Keanu and said WHOA that is not a bad price at all!!

Still I was reluctant to drop $2350 for a laptop I kept thinking I am bonkers (ya ya I know an M17X can cost a lot more but heck that is half a supercharger for my truck). Now after reading your review I am excited about buying this laptop! Gonna call Dell on the way home and see if I can wrangle any further discount from an agent hehe.

TLDR: GREAT review I am now truly excited about buying an M17X. rep given

Your memory timings are high. I never checked what mine reads at 1333Mhz. Your CL should be 9.

Basically... 1000MHZ @ CAS 5 have the same performance of 2000MHZ CAS 10.

While i highly doubt that it will affect your performance (C2 don't need that much bandwidth) i would say that trying to use 4:5 can be a pretty good idea.

I'm just curious about why BIOS set that high CAS o_O

    I'm wondering...

1066 probably don't have SPD for 1333 so the bios just put the max CAS available.

Could we get some pictures of the BIOS as that is something that really sets this notebook from other.

Also, slightly unrelated, any programs that can control keyboard colors for the M17 (whitebook)? That looks awesome haha
