Well Dell.com has the Mouse + keyboard..The mouse is priced slightly lower than Alienware's price ($80 vs $100) but they keyboard is a whopping $160!! These guys really need to get their pricing figured out..

So how many buttons can you customize on this mouse? My Logitech G9 allows for 9 buttons to be configured freely. Does the Alienware mouse do the same? Also, is there profile management like the G9?
So basically I'm asking if it's the same as my G9 just with a different chassis. I don't like the shape of my G9 (the grip is too short, no matter which one I use), the Alienware model looks similar to the Microsoft Habu or the old Logitech iFeel Mouse, which I liked alot better from a feel standpoint.

:O Moo! Never seen you so pissed before, but I can understand why. that is a great mouse, I love mine! Nice and comfortable, the click wheel feels amazing, it comes with a cable anchor which is nice. I picked one up a while ago and liked it so much, I bought the Sidewinder keyboard to go with it which is also an amazing product.

    You will not be disappointed.

I hate Razor. I used to love them. I owned one Diamondback, 4 Copperheads (counting warranty exchanges), 2 Habus (yeah, MS, but really a Razer) and one Lachesis and all experienced the double-click problem (single left clicks double-clicked, it's a known hardware error for Razer products) sooner or later (sometimes months, sometimes weeks). Since that I haven't been keen on buying any more Razer products, unfortunately.
I'm happy with my Logitech G9's features, I just don't like how my hand doesn't fit on it well. I wish it had the shape of the Habu or the old Logitech iFeel Mouse.
The Alienware mouse looks to have a similar shape, so if it's completely the same as a G9 feature wise except the shape, I might be quite interested in it.

I placed an order back when it was $45, it arrived today in a plastic bag..

No software was included so I figured my M17x would auto detect the mouse and install whatever was needed. After a few minutes of having the mouse plugged in I became a bit worried when I could not find the software to customize the buttons, switch profiles, or even edit the lighting.

After around two hours on the phone with alienware support, they told me that their development team was looking into the issue and I would be getting an email when it was all figured out.

You'd think when a product launches that they'd send the right software with it. lol

For what its worth, it is a very solid mouse. On par with my G9 which is not so surprising when you look at the obvious similarities between the two.

    A few things to note:

The grip is very comfortable, feels like the wide load grip that comes with the G9 with a bit more style. The Thumb buttons benefit from being spaced out a bit and they give great tactile feedback when depressed. The only thing (besides the obvious lack of software for programing this thing) that bothers me is the lighting on the alien head. When compared to the rest of the lighting it is a bit washed out and the eyes are barely discernable, leaving it looking more like an out of place oval than a logo.

For $45 though? would purchase again given the chance, if only to match my system.
