Hey Fluus..congrats on the purchase! Glad you waited! You will throughly enjoy your new purchase. Unfortunately you wont have the same mobility as the older m15x(due to battery), but you will be happy.

 

no problem, and the Alienware box comes in a Dell box..
there shipping department does a great job, wrapping everything up

Someone explain this to me. Called the 800 number it said my order was received Oct 29th.

Then it staid Order has be Shipped to the Carrier
And further information will be available when it arrives
Shipped on Oct29 1999 (assuming the system meant 2009 or its messed up)

Does this mean that they already shipped it out? And i'm just waiting for the local canadian purolator to get it?

Hi,this is my 1st post here. Been reading for awhile now

I ordered my m15x on Oct 19th and I will receive it tomorrow!! The wait is almost over.One question I have is do you think it will ship with the bios update?

 

Can't wait to see it Roxy! Will post some pics of mine when it comes in on Wednesday / Thursday.

 

Oct 19th, might have been just before the bios update. But you never know seeing that they have the update before its available for the public.

Other posters have stated they received theirs with the bios update so I dont see why yours would be different. Unless your order went in before them and got shipped after?

Worst case scenario? Upgrade it when you get it Its straightforward

Um I ordered on 10/25 and it came to me today with this bios... so... I guess they did it before shipping my lappy out.

 

I ordered on 20/10 and I got A01 as well...Does anyone know how to set 3dmark06 to the resolution 1280x1024 ??

 

oi.

so after 1 hour and 20 minutes on the phone(20 being actual conversation, the highly trained dell tech decides my laptop doesn't have bluetooth and should have come with the 370 card installed. seeing as how i already ordered one yesterday they are going to credit my the $$ for the order.

that leads to the $80 difference when i configure it the same today. should be getting a credit for that too. now i just get to deal with a tech about my replacement LCD...

Hey Roxy! Yes the A01 bios is new and helps the lag on battery issue many people had when they first received their lappies. Basically the issue was, when you were running on battery, the system was lagging especially when typing. A01 resolves this. Hope this helps.

I don't remember the actual weight, but it was a slim version of the AC adapter used on the M17x. I will see if I can find a pic and post it. It was not bad actually. If someone can chime in on the weight, that would be great.

Purple actually looks good on the system never even thought about that. (although i will probably still stick to blue)

 

Actually it's pink but I'm not sure why it shows up as purple-ish on the pics? lol.
Anyhow, I'm currently installing aion. Going to see how this game performs on M15x! =3

 

I never tried it Have had the laptop for some weeks, reformatted, reinstalled Command center... Nothing works... I am so sad

 

I called the numbe on page 33 and it said that my order was shipped to the receiving centre on Oct 26 1999. My orignal order was made on the 20th so that seems plausible?

Anything happened with you yet, Stormwatch? I'm in Canada as well.

 

Im guessing since my original order was just cancelled (for discount) and reordered my laptop was already made and they shipped it out the same day.

No idea tho.. Online it says In production and the number says that its been shipped to the carrier? No idea what the carrier is but im assuming either a dell distribution center in canada or purolator since they do the deliveries here.

I just want a tracking number and a real timeline lol.. Web still says Nov 19th. :-(

 

its trash behind the display cover. no way im paying this much for a laptop that isnt perfect. from what i can tell the cover and lcd are one unit because they are sealed together.

Is they keyboard on that thing as good as it looks? I always think in the pictures I see that it look pretty awesome, how does it feel in person??

As far as shipping goes I know In Production covers building / shipping to the distribution center. Mine shipped to Nashville TN before it got handed over to Fed Ex.

I just got off the phone with a customer service business rep. She first told me that it was in production (final stages) and that i should receive a tracking numbers in a few days (thursday was guessed). Then i old her how i was getting conflicting answers from the website and another 1800 number (website of course told me it was still in production, phone# said it had already shipped and was on the way to the carrier). She clarified and said well they're both right... riht now she said my laptop was on its way from Malaysia (where it's built) and hasnt reached the receiving centre in US yet (purolator). This is still considered part of the "in production" stage because I havn't received a tracking number yet and it hasnt been redistributed out to my office for delivery... so it still is "in production" but has not technically shipped from the receiving centre in north america, so that's where it's at. I get the feeling the same is true for you (or any of you with a delayed in production status).

 

Will be getting mine on Friday or earlier depending on FedEx Ground's erratic transit schedule, which is generally based on volume.

I am going to head mine off at the pass and try to snag it at the dist. center where i live and avoid letting a driver carry it around in his truck all day.

 

Call before you go. If my memory serves me.. ummm.... umm... oh yeah, if my memory serves me correctly, they have to make one delivery attempt first before they let you pick it up at the dist center. Well, I was told this at least.

Yeah I would have too if I was having it shipped to my house. But since it's going to my work, we have a good relationship with the drivers and such, who show up early in the morning on their routes

 

Well I am not going to head it off at the pass. The dist. center is actually the next town over and I lack the effort to go and get it. 11/4/2009 is the estimated delivery date from fed ex so I will just sit and wait.

No problem, guys! I found it VERY interesting for a Canadian buyer that the in-production status on the website is extended during the time that the laptop is actually BUILT but in transit over to the receiving centre in North America.

Hope that other Canadian buyers take this into consideration when they're frustration wit the website status starts building up!

Are you able up to turn up most of the graphic settings on AION?

 

Yeah, everything maxed ( except shadow - it's on lowest setting ), glow effect 1, and 4x anti aliasing ( I can set it to 8, but only do so when I'm taking in game screenshots... )
