Sorry to jump in ahead of Roxy - I'm totally addicted to Dragon Age, and I run it max settings both on the built in screen and on the external monitor when I'm home. I runs just perfectly.

 

no the tilting issue persists: clearly everyone else is using their laptops on a desk and flat as intended! The issue does resolve itself when you hold the lappy flat, its more of an oddity for which I have no explanation thing than anything that compromises its use. We need someone with more expertise to experiment for us!

 

I am traveling tomorrow and will let you know if I run into this problem myself.

 

What do you guys think of Kaspersky 2010?

I was maybe looking at picking it up for the new toy

Kaspersky Internet Security 2010? Its worth it if you buy the key from ebay / if a store have some sort of rebate for it. Paying full price for it ( like buying from the website ) is just too expensive imo.

My laptop is finally shipped today . I order it since 11/04/09 but then it got cancelled and reorder on 11/11/09 . They didn't even notify me why my order was cancelled. So I give them a call to find out why my order was cancelled and they give me some b/s excuse that my order was made illegaly. At they end they said they going to refund me 50 dollar for the inconvience. I guess i can't complain. Cant wait to received my laptop

Is the bluetooth card listed on your online invoice? if not, then no it's not included. Nice spec I originally got 3gb of ram but I decided to get 4... so I bought the 2gb separately on newegg. ^_^; I easily reached 3gb with programs that I run...

 

Hi, I am new tothis forum. I have been checking out for a while but have only signed up recently. I wanted to know, how long does it take for M15x to ship. I ordered one on 8/11, it went into production on the same day. However it has not shipped yet. I can't even check the stage as I ordered it in Canada.

It really depends. I was one of the lucky ones and they finished building mine in 4 days. Sometimes some of the parts can be backordered and it'll take them longer to build your computer. In fact, it can take them a month or even longer to build someone's system.

 

Will the first order i made it wasn't in the invoice but the second one that they reorder for me it was in the invoice. So hopefully it's install in my laptop.

 

If it's listed in the invoice, then the BT card will be installed in your system

Oh well, I will just hope for the best. BTW my invoice doesn't state BT either.

 

Then your system would most likely come without BT. Better call them up and tell them to install the card into your system. If it's too late, then ask them to send the card to your address. 1800-alienware

I called them yesterday and got transferred about 10-15 times when I asked to add the headset and mouse to my m15x since it's still in production.
After transferring to the last Indian lady, she hung up on me. lol...

 

Majority of the indian reps are rude a-holes. Yeah I hate how I got x-fered back and forth between departments for 2 hours straight. You should call alienware # directly and talk to the reps there. The wait time is going to be longer but it's worth it.

 

mine was 8 days from ordering to delivery: there
is a point when it says in transit which means on its way to the US -- you then get a tracking number for Purolator who always say to allow 4-5 business days fro anything coming from the States -- hope this helps.
Unlike the US we don't have a number to call to verify build stages and the EDD online is not very reliable -- there's just a bad phase where you have to wait for a tracking number to show! Worth it in the end.

I called a rep yesterday. He told me that the system should ship within 2-3 days. Hope he is right.

I belive once it's in production they cant change your order. I try to ask them to include the tactx mouse and headset while my laptop was in production and they said no.

Pfft a-holes... keep talking to different reps ( if you have the time ) because one of them can be nice enough to add it to your order.

I think Dell is very misleading about the BT situation. It come as standard with the system but they leave it as a option. So who ever pay attention to it will add it to their invoice and who ever doesn't then it will not be include in their invoice. I think it should be automatically include in the invoice instead of listing it as a option for people to choose.

 

Well from the only 2 good reps i got, they said that they'd have to cancel my order and redo it. So I said forget it, and the guy said okay i'll give you free next day shipping. lol eh, s'good enough for me.

Grats! Feels like I have been waiting for a month but it has only been a week

In some ways I am feeling like a bit of a sucker. Dell charges Canadians approximately 20% more (only company I have seen in years pull that crap when the dollar is close to parity), my Rep has disappeared now that he got my $, I am going to have to wait approximately a month and still no Bluetooth in a $2000 plus laptop. This thing better be worth it...

Ya man, I know how you feel. I'm completely down for the M15x, but with my preferred build (Core i7 820, 500GB, 4GB 1333, 260 GTX, 900p screen) its around $2600 without tax and almost $3000 with tax! And thats without any extended warranty.

I've had bad experiences with laptops always giving me problems right after a year, so I can't do without atleast a 2 year warranty. Honestly, love to get it, but I just feel paying almost 3 grand is too much...I figure even if I talk down the price, I cant imagine them cutting it down too much anyways...

 

Hi jujojujo_2003.. I too have the same problem with the alienware that I have bought recently, the enter key does not function with in all the games of NFS.... did you get to any solution regarding this issue???? please help!!! I still have to try it out in other games.... but i an an NFS fan and find it very difficult to play with....

 

BTW is the game functioning normal with an external keyboard???

 

good luck finding a fix only way i can play it is with an external keyboard i noticed theres a few other games that are the same

Here in America I just ship my stuff from Dell to Delaware, and have it shipped to me...... I have paid over $20000.00 in income tax, $2500.00 in property tax, 10s of Thousands in sales taxes, I would say that I have paid Uncle Obama enough this year...
