I finally got around to testing the DisplayPort connected to my Pioneer Kuro and all I get is video, no audio despite setting the audio output to displayport. Anyone else have any luck in enabling it?

@Joker: I've heard it's all dependent on the cable/adapter you're using.

 

I'm using a female HDMI to male displayport adapter from monoprice. There's others here that are using the same one. The HDMI cable itself should work fine since it's a digital signal. Oh and if any of you guys with large screen tv's haven't already done so, grab a nice wireless mouse/kb combo (I'm using the logitech desktop wave pro) and try playing on the tv. I'm playing MW2 right now and it's extremely nice though for now I have to output sound through the notebook speakers.

Is anyone else having a problem with the sleep mode on the M15x? When I put mine to sleep by closing the lid or by using FN + F2, it will go into sleep mode but about 5-10 seconds later it will wake up by itself automatically. It's starting to get annoying because a lot of the time I just close the lid and walk away, and when I come back...it's still on.

 

I have the similar problem so i call tech support and it resolve now.

Look at item H, we didn't use coupon code but that 200 instant off from upgrade + 50 bucks gift card + 3% DPA discount might disqualify us from the bing cashback. I called Dell the lady doesnt know , said their financing dept was closed today thats why my order didnt go into production (tho I suspect thats why mine didn't get can celled)

 

When at home my M15x lives connected to the TV for gaming, I use a Logitech VX Nano mouse with the G13 keyboard and a Logitech cordless dual analogue gamepad. I'd take this over a PS3 any day

 

That weird I got 12345 without overclocking it. Try the 195.35 driver.

Don't worry about that, the 3% DPA is part of the financing deal and won't disqualify your Bing purchase. The 50 dollar gift card isn't a separate coupon or discount, it's part of the sale so that doesn't count against us either. I used firefox and IE when making the orders and the last 2 I made have stuck so far. The only thing I did different was to use the dell bing site (as opposed to the alienware one) and two different DPA accounts.

 

I got 11626 using the 195.35 driver
I uninstalled it and installed the 186.81 driver and got 11719. Hmm....

Nope, did not have any prob with it. I'm uninstalling that one and installing the newer version atm though.

Roger that and I inquired about order being cancelled because of the bing issue. the female rep said she was not aware of any issue but made it clear to me that these couple days their financing department was closed so no order placed would go in production nor would they be cancelled pending financing dept back to work monday and review the orders....

 

Anyone know If I'm able to change the nameplate/customize parts once the laptop is in production?


EPP discount just got jacked up to $200, I'm guessing If you call up an epp member directly you can get the EPP + 200 off + 50 gift card, just another idea incase bing doesn't work or instant savings instead of waiting for 2 months to get 250-300 cb.

 

I just got an email from bing showing the cashback for $374.80 so the cash back is from the total price not including tax. I got the $200 off for more than $200 in upgrade and the 50 gift card. I paid with my DPA but i don't think i got the 3% off like everyone else. I was thinking about calling in and telling them i want to cancel so they would give me another $100 off but I don't want to risk messing up something else doing it.

 

Name plate wise, no. I know because I tried to change mine since I made a mistake. I complained to the point where they'd gave me $50 to keep the nameplate the way it is.

No it says Roxanne & Yuki. Yuki = my cat's name. I had 2 different build in my cart at that time. I didn't remember that one of them had that silly plate... so I just deleted one of em and proceed to check out. Later on I realized I picked the wrong one, lol. Oh well.

PS- I'm super annoyed that the Alienware 17"er hasn't been updated (I REALLY don't with a 15" screen), but I've waited a year for a new laptop....can't wait any longer. i placed the order yesterday.

 

The ones that were canceled are showing up in my bing.

 

I placed order 47.5 hrs ago....still not showing up in my bing yet (keeping my finger crossed)

 

It will show up. Mine were placed on the 27th. Although its all a mess on my end since I had about 5 orders canceled on me yet Bing processed 2 of them.

 

So $200 off from the upgrades + $50 gift card + 20% Bing CB + 3% DPA off = A ridiculously cheap Alienware.

...I think it's time to buy. I just wish they still had the $99 Inspiron Mini 10 deal still going (they don't, do they? Doesn't show up for me.)

Anyone know if the 9-cell battery sticks out the bottom? If so, how significant is it? I'd like to be able to use this on my lap.

Placed my order 49 hours ago, just got my bing cashback notification and I logged into the bing cashback account to check, exactly 20% cashback has been approved!!! yeaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now next question is how fast is dell making these. Estimate built date is Dec 14th for now, wonder if they really take that long.

There's always a chance. I read a post where some guy bought 20 (yes you read right) notebooks...unbeleivable.

 

One thing I did completely forget to ask current M15x owners...how is the fan noise level? quiet enough to sleep beside it when idling or just surfing?
