i7
LED screen options 1600x900 standard, 1920x1080 upgrade
MXM 3.0b slot with power requirements of 35W and 65W individually
What more could you ask for?
-
-
What could this mean!!!
Video
LCD interface
Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS)
External display support
VGA and DisplayPort
Video cards
MXM 3.0 Type B compliant cards with individual power budget of 35W and 65W -
Wow, its case is exactly the same. I was expecting it to be at least slightly different
EDIT: core i7!!! -
looks like i will in line to order my M15x soon
1600 x 900 and 1920 x 1080 resolutions. so we're shooting for 16:9? -
Yep.
My order is going in as soon as I can get to the configurator. -
hahaha @ sleey0's new avatar! I cannot wait for this. I have money ready. Itching to call.. put it up for order already!!! Great to see an LED option!
-
Bothe screen options are LED standard ie NO CCFL option. Better be a good LED panel. lol
They are playing the GPU part close to the chest. Usually the specs indicate what card is in there but I can't find anything. -
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
I am happy for the people waiting for this
-

I think new nvidia GPU specially made for Mobile computers, not that desktop copycat stuff, but this is a really wild geuss
-
Nice links!
Just went through it myself. It's gonna be a solid laptop. I hope the base doesn't start with 2GB Ram.
Anyway, is this thing supposed to sport 2 video cards?
EDIT: Nevermind, I see it has 1 card only. Still pure awesomeness. -
Damn, this makes me feel bad about my newly bought m17x. The new m15x seems to have everything this one has plus more portability. Anyone can tell me why I should be happy with my m17x and make my day?
-
Well, for me it's the screen. I couldn't do with less than 17" in my main computer. Also the dual hard drives, and dual cards. That's about it. If it weren't for these things I would be all over this new one.
I thought it might have looked just a little more different. -
if the GTS 250M or GTS 260M turns out to be MXM 3.0 type A with SLi support and they find their way into this thing, things could get interesting...
-
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
full size keyboard and screen, dual HDD's, sli, And you still don't know how good the core i7 will perform.
-
Ok. Where's phinagle!
What cards are 1. MXM3.0b compliant and 2. have thermal budgets of 35W and 65W?
We solve that and we might have an answer
-
Just checked. Listen to this
The thermals on the 4870 are 65W while the 280 is 75W. The GTS 260M runs 37W.
Not jumping to conclusions but I am getting a little excited
-
Nice! lol Only thing left is for it to also come in colors at launch.
-
i told you darkhan was legit
not trolling here but Clevo GOT WHIPPED
-
Seems to me you're a bit more than "a little excited" sleey0.
Anyway, at first, i thought m15x will have sli too. I was like no way! Now, I'm happy again since there's no way i can buy another laptop right now. -
That would be pretty sweet. I can see it now, i7 and 9Hours of battery... OK, maybe not but still!
-
bleeh, makes me wana return my m17x once it arrives, bugger XD
-
Yes, I am VERY excited
I am a nb junkie and love my toys. I am def ordering one of these and can't wait to find out what GPU is in there.
Hmmm... Only a 6 cell though? -
No inbuilt mobile broadband as far as i can see. All high end laptops nowdays have inbuilt mobile broadband especially the smaller more portable laptops.
-
can some one convert these from pdf ?
-
Why? Grab Cutepdf... It's free
-
yeah scratch that part about two MXM slots. It seems that it can only hold 1, but complying with both type A and B dimensions.
-
these are not your typical laptops ....
so please look around @ clevo or alienware or sagers and find one with mobile broadband -
Dual ATi 4870's my friend, but sadly no GTX 260 or 280.
-
IM ON BOARD! IM GETTING ONE!
sold my M17 for 2k!!!! -
Ok, so what cards are MXM3.0a compliant?
I'm guessing they'll have the GTS260M standard with the 4870 as an upgrade option? -
OK, so have the cards been pinned down already or is someone still working on it? We know dual cards is a no-go.
lol... poor soul the one that bought that M17 for 2k.
Sleey0 how about a service manual for the other 2 monsters? -
Still it's a high end laptop and it's smaller for better portability so i'm surprised they left out such a useful feature as mobile broadband. If i'm travelling around with my laptop i want an internet connection wherever i am, not having to worry about if i'm within range of a wifi connection
-
damn it looks so nice and SLI CLEVO IS peeing their pants
-
if mobile internet is such a huge issue, get one of those mobile broadband sticks, problem solved?
-
Agree or disagree?
Discuss -
question can or cannot take crossfire or sli???
I'm drueling about this laptop : D_ _ _ | -
hmmmm.. so this will have a lower end GPU such as a GTS260?
-
Well LED and i7 , depending on what video cards these have i may have to snag one of these myself . Cant imagine how excited you are Sleey0
.
-
Yeah i know but it would of been more convenient if it was built in especially as other manufacturers do that. Those sticks can be lost easily and you could forget to bring it with you whereas if it's built in it's always there when you need it. Just surprised they left that feature out on such a high end laptop.
-
Probably if it has 35W and 65W compliant slot
-
sounds effing awesome, although I wish they pulled an HP and gave it the ability to have more than 8 gigs of ram. I'm so happy about the LED screen... that was one of my main gripes about the M17X
-
it says Stealth Mode in the manual.
i remember that was a feature for the old m15x.
thats not just for nvidia cards right?..
because if it was, wed know they were going to use an nvidia card. -
I'll never come close to using 8GB's now.
And when I do, I'll need a new laptop by then
-
Has nothing to do with nvidia
-
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
I think its nvidia no mather what. For alienware they are still the most powerfull. they only did the ATI thing on the m17 because it was to cut the price
-
it would be really great if this thing starts at like $1200,
but i figure it will be at least $1500/1600 for base price. -
Like others say - get a mobile broadband USB stick. I have, and more importantly carry a 3 meter USB extension cable. The ammount of times I manage to get a good signal by sticking the USB stick out of the window of the hotel makes it worthwhile. (Big Tip - I use electrical insulation tape to keep the USB stick attached to the cable, wouldn't want it falling off)
-
i figured...
-
Dang. No updates to the driver page yet

Just realised it doesn't have an HDMI connection either. That's strange to leave that out when so much equipment now days uses HDMI connections. That means i wouldn't be able to connect it to my HD TV.
