Hm, maybe the M15x's GPU isn't a deal breaker afterall. On http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html the ATI 4870 and the GTX 260m are virtually identically in scores. And if the manual insinuates that it can hold a larger a GPU, that means it can handle cards made in the future right? Like possibly the 5000 series?

I may get one of these afterall. ;)

And Moo sorry to hear that :( Hopefully its not going to be tooexpensive

Ok, I guess that is normal then. You did say you got the drive stock right? Hey, Sleey.. can you access your order status page? It says it cannot find info. Not sure if it takes some time to show up on the site. Just curious

Thanks! yeah, now the other part that I do not look forward to.

I am still not convinced that upgrading the GTX280 SLI to the 4870 is worth the money. I mean if you have the PC already. I don't think the 4870 are worth a $800 upgrade...

Again, I don't mean for a new buyer... I mean for someone with an M17X already equipped with GTX280M.

Plus on top of that and like mentioned by Gabe recently Nvidia's drivers for games are much better. ATI still has not fixed the stuttering issue in WOW and other games.

Since this is the M15X thread... I love the LED screen... When are we getting this on the M17X??????????

    hmmm guys.
    with my current money situation.
i think im going to buy a much cheaper 5850/5870 crossfire configuration
    desktop from ibuypower.com.
and in a few months also get the M15x.
i like it, but its alot right now in respects to my cash flow...

Why did AW do this with the 4870 in the M17x? Just makes choosing that much harder. Now I dont know which I want. with sli 260s and a single 4870 costing the same they are just making it confusing

*sorry if this is a repost, I'm in class I got no time to catch up on this but seriously if the new card was in the M15x it would be a no brainer for alot of people.

Does anyone know how Stealth mode will work in the new M15X? Did they include a secondary GPU so as to offer a long battery life solution?

I ask because while the unit may weigh 10lbs and be almost the size of the m17x, I really enjoy having the long battery life.

how much do you think that the 820QM @ 1,73 GHz will be overclockable to?(all 4 cores, not turboboost)

Would the difference between the 920XM and 820QM be worth 1236 USD?

I don't tink anything higher than 720 is worth it.. Maybe if you have money in plus go with the 820 so you get 2mb cache more and a little faster cpu.

But it isn't 1236 extra for the 920 :p But like 900 something I think.

820 is the sweet spot, IMO.

I mean, Dell charges the same for a T9900 upgrade so it's worth it.

the Clevo does weigh almost 2lbs less and does have an hdmi port,
us AWers can at least give them that.
but the M15x is a much much prettier machine overall.

Except for the point I brought up yesterday in another thread the Sagers have great performance but they look like flea market laptops, for $2500 I demand style. I think the free 3yr warr. is the only thing thats really better.

The 280 is faster and you know it. Just accept it already :p And it's standard :D but.. is the 4870 true or is that a lie to trick me into the m15x.. cuz if it is then yeah m15x will kick some butt.

Switchable graphics is what the m15x needs.

Now I'm curious to see if any of these two will have overheating issues.. cough cough AW will downclock cough cough

3 year on labor only :)

1 year on parts - that is the most expensive and worthwhile part of the warranty.
