Now I got the thing in my cart were going to find out in a min. One more question I have before I do this: How much (if any) bigger will the 9 cell be? I want it, but not if it looks like a big brick hanging out the back, I want it to look sleek

On Intel's mobiel i7 products page, it shows an
Cyberpower Xplorer X6-6720. What the hell is that? Anyone know?
I'm asking because it is spec'ed with Switchable Graphics (UMA + ATI M92), i7 and 15 inch screen. Anyone know what UMA + M92 is? (Pardon my ignorance) -
I admit after seeing this I went over to powernotebooks and xoticpc to price out the clevo equivalent. As soon as I saw $200 dead pixel guaranty I closed out the screen.
I don't want to pay the extra insurance to guaranty satisfaction. I'll continue to stick with Dell. I'm thinking of buying the base model with just a screen upgrade and upgrade the rest myself.

Dell's cashback is now 15% with bing. Search "Dell desktop" on bing and it gives 15%. Does it work with the M15x?
-

Thanks for the link, so basically it's saying that if you have an Intel Core i7 720QM core processor at 1.6GHZ it'll go up to 2.8GHZ at max with 1 core?
So depending on the application you have running it'll change depending on your workload?
If I'm running WoW for example it'll run at say 2.4GHZ and if I open up a video editing application it'll pump out the extra .4GHZ for that extra power?
Thanks for the help guys -

the less cores it is using, the higher the clock can be, it is pretty much that simple. It shuts down cores that are not needed (single or dual threaded apps)
-
-
They should remove that option. It'll turn customers away.
-
. One thing i noticed is there CPU prices seem much more reasonable compared to Dells ?. 280mGTX standard ? very nice stuff really.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
well I just looked around at the clevo version, and the only downside I found is it is uglier, otherwise it crushes the M15x for price and power. Imho
-
-
What about the OC options for the Clevo?
-
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
the M15x will for sure, it was in the user manual - BIOS OC including even ram voltages haha (and THEY [M15x] can turn off SpeedStep but WE [M17x]can't
)
-
I have to say you guys are absolutely nuts.....72 pages in 1 day? Holy &$&%@Q^%$&^@$
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
we got a lot on our minds
-
-
I have an extra to 280 to play with.
-
it looks like it works.
idk forsure though -

Lol I just realized.....due to their limited GPU options AW is offering, this (unlike the M17x) is NOT the most powerful notebook of its size.
The clevo is. Way to go AW...you had the ball, and dropped right in front of the end zone
So this is really not All Powerful -
.
-
. Still think the Clevo is the best 15inch option period . 1920x1080 screen is 40 bucks more , Standard 280m GTX and the extreme CPU is what $740 bucks more ?. Sounds like a total beast of a 15inch thats for certain .
-
Quad
I am sure the 260 is the same one as the M17x. It wouldn't make sense to stock 2 260's. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
where is the fun in being average?!
-
-
It sure seems to work with the M15x.
Any product on the Home Office Dell site will work.
Not bad. I'll take the discount up front though
I have used Bing and it takes like 60 days to get your cashback amount -
.
-
I'll let you know when it gets here
If I don't like it, it's going back! -
No more smartbay????
-
.. Was going to ask if you had a return sticker already to go ??
.
-
Not quite, smartie pants ::sticking toungue out:::
LOL
Dell knows me by now... Sad, huh? -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I doubt they would even need to downclock it. The difference in cooling between the M15x and the Asus G51 is HUGE so they wont have to cut corners like that
No more smart bay. That was a feature on the notebooks made by Quanta, these new ones are all made by Flextronics -
Lol forget Dell knowing you . We know you all to well.

:::feelin the love:::
Now, the fist thing I need to do when it gets here is put my shiny, new X25-m G2 in (just came in today) -
Sorry Dio...
fixed: Free TactX with qualifying Alienware purchase... M15x and 17x

That link is broken. If my orders in already can I not get the mouse for free?
-
It is not the mouse that is free, it is a headset.
Try contacting Dell to see if you can get it. -
edit: is my headset link still not working?? It works for me... can someone please confirm? -
It works
-
It isn't working for me
-

i just talked to a representative.
the Bing cashback only works with the Inspiron and Studio notebooks... -
Review of the i7 920QM up on laptopmag.com.
Clevo vs. the M17x. Graphics benchmarks are trash since they bottleneck the SLI with low resolutions but the rest of the info seems good. The Clevo actually has less battery life than the M17x while running SLI.
-
How do you guys get the student discount? I did so a while back but can't seem to find where to go to get it.
-
How much of a performance increase am I likely to get from 720QM to 820QM? Is it worth nearly £410 (approx $670)?? Stock it is only .13 GHz but the turbo speed gives an increase of .23 and there you also get an extra 2MB cache.
I'm going to pretty much pull the trigger on this, and I could probably stretch the extra 410, but I'm just not sure if it is worth it?
I'm not a very intensive gamer, but I will be playing cod mw2 when it comes up. Will I get a massive performance increase?
Thanks
