Nope. Not if your outside of the 21 day return period. Check this thread for more information. Here is another thread as well. Hope this helps. Why would you return it anyhow?

No problem, yea I would keep on the phone with dell and try and work something out. If you come at them with a polite attitude they are more likely to work with you. I'd try and work something out if I were you. Or if you must, sell the laptop and get another. Then test it to make sure you want it. Test throughly and make a decesion about weather or not to return in the 21 day period.

It gets sent to an APO address. Once it hits New York the military pics it up and transports it and sends it to the closest APO based on the particular ZIP. It's nice because I don't have to pay taxes or shipping costs but also a pain because with the military transporting it it's hit or miss. Can be a week, can be three weeks. I'm working as a civilian contractor. Taking a year off from the army reserves, so this is my third time here. 1st time as a civilian. If you know anyone at the UAE bases or you work there, I'd check into it or order through a friend that works there, not exactly sure on your status there.

as all the systems are built in same factory in china! euro or usa. i think!

    Hey everyone,

I was wondering how on earth I could get the EPP discount on these new m17x's because every time i web chat with a representative they tell me its not out yet and they don't know when. I am trying to get my system under 2000$ and that requires the EPP and Preferred signup discounts.

Can anyone help me out with this? I tried reading through all 50+ pages of this thread but since im currently in college with a full load of courses, I dont have much time to scavenge the thread for tips.

    Thanks

With the amount of orders this thing is generating, a new Order Status Thread for the R2 would a be a success, and in the process ease this one a bit.

First I asked on the live chat when it would be possible to order dual ati and raid0. The guy said it was just to phone in. And I did, I even got the dual upgrade for free :) when I asked for a good price.

I have bought Dell for years, I always phone when I have decided, and get nice discounts with whomever I get on the phone. If I don't I just try again after a few days with a new sales rep.

It took me an hour going back and forth with them because they weren't going to give me the 10% EPP since I wasn't ordering a "EPP package" but I got them to give me $150 off and free shipping. The 10% ends on Feb 1st so after that who knows what their EPP discount will end up like, but it was like pulling teeth when I pushed my order in to get what I wanted...

    Thanks very much!

Employee Purchase Program, not a Dell employee nessarially, but companies make deals with dell for their employees to get discounts. Useally if a company buys a lot of dell equipt, dell will give employees of that company a break on personal equipt. lots of companies have those programs, Verizon, Sprint, HP...you get the idea

When I ordered, I didn't get the "normal" EPP discount of 10%, I only got around 5-6%. However, they gave me an additional $200 off for using the Dell Preferred financing, so that ended up making up the difference. Not sure if that helps or not, but I think the rep I was talking to got some sort of spiff or commission for getting me to sign up for the financing, so you might be able to wrangle a discount that way.

Yes, as others have said it's the employee purchasing program. Even if your work/school doesn't offer it you only need to know someone who is eligible for it and I've never seen them verify anyway.

Hi, I just ordered the m17x R-2 on Saturday morning. Sadly I didn't see the differences between the HD screen and the RGB screen so i chose the second option out of all 3. Is there a way to change my order? I ordered through dells website.

The 2nd option is the old crappy CCFL display that auto dims. Brandon, it's best you call them ASAP and cancel the order and explain that you wanted the RGB LED.

Seriously though you really should call Dell cancel the order and re-order with the RGB LED, it will cost you an arm and a leg to do it later.
