Very positive review. Able to run L4D2 playable with highest settings and AA/AF turned on. Plays 1080p video without a problem. Runs very cool (highest recorded temp: 72C for the GPU under load).
EDIT - Also, they were able to overclock the SU7300 to 1.6GHz.Click to expand...Click to expand... jonjonk said: ↑from youtube videos you can see that it is semi-gloss. At first I wanted to get the silver color, but the one on hardwareheaven looks more gray than silver. Maybe it is because of improper lighting. Also, from the pictures, you can tell that the silver version is semi-gloss, too.

Thanks to Mag for tracking down the videos and other assorted links which follow: mini FAQ
Well upgrading HDD or Memory void my warranty?
Probablly not, if anything all you have to do is replace your original hdd back into the system before sending it back in for repairs.
Anyone now how the Gobi™ Mobile Broadband with GPS work? Since they use cellphone data networks do you pay a usage fee to which ever provider you choose?
I believe you need a Cell subscription to work with it, either ATT or Verizon. And I think it is like 60 bucks a month, but it basically gives you internet where ever you go. However, if you already have a smart plan and are paying for a data plan,, it is possible to tether your phone to your PC, and get anywhere wireless using that method.
Do You have to cancel the order if you want bluetooth and forgot to include it in your original order?
Yes.
Any idea when the i5s or i7s will be coming for the system?
There is no reliable time frame for the i5/i7 processors. Some people say summer, others October.
Everyone talks about how much better it is going from OC 1.3 to 1.6...but in reality how much better is it and why? Im new to all this so pardon the noob question but why so much better?
You are looking at a 20% performance increase, as in the same kinda boost you would get from upgrading to a UM i5 processor, and all you do is turn one options to yes.
What kind of discounts can you get?
10% off with EPP, $50 off coupon with EPP newsletter signup, and 3% off using your DPA.Click to expand...Click to expand...

According to Dell the M11X
- Scores 6000 to 7000 3DMarks (I'm guessing 3DMark06 looking at the specs of the graphic card).
- Has 6 and a half hours of battery life and over 2 hours during "intense" gaming.
- Runs Call of Duty MW2 on high settings and HD resolution at more than 30 frames per second.
- Runs Crysis at 50 frames per second. (Unknown settings)

I'm going to go ahead and keep the SSD lol since I did the math and if I went with 500GB HDD the cost to the SSD is only ~$330. I prefer the space of 256GB over a 160GB one too. Now my problem is the Bluetooth.. Grrr and 3% off DPAbluehaze013 said: ↑I'd cancel and reorder with BT and a regular HD, then get a 160gb Intel for 400 on Ebay
It's much better HD! I'd imagine though if they don't include BT we will be able to order the module separately and just put it in ourselves. Gonna be a lot of pissed off people if it doesn't come with BT after it said on the website it comes with it and there was no option to remove it.

Bluetooth appeared within minutes of me checking today. One minute it was not and then I went back and it was. $20 upgrade for bluetooth 2.1 It is NOT standard equipment and needs to be added to the order.
I can see where the confusion is and people assuming it is standard, since common sense it would be a feature in some form. -
depending on country, bluetooth is standard. Canadian models its standard but in US model its an option
-
Well for malaysia, its standard. No option to add, but already on the specs list
-
and since it was not an option but was listen in the specs! What if we ordered online!? Cancel and reorder? this is ridiculous that Dell can not change an order, I am having to reorder so many times because of their mistakes.
if you look here:
http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/alienware-m11x?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn
it says in the tech specs, internal bluetooth wireless... -
Sigh, no ssd for us (Malaysians), which isn't that much of a loss anyway since Eggs throughly explained why the model OEMs use are awful.
-
Couldn't add Bluetooth without cancelling. Oh well, I'm gonna buy this.

^^ same. Reordering would only off my CC company.

It is actually 1066 ram everywhere, and that is where the OC option comes from, if you turn on the Overclocking it just raises the FSB so the ram is running at 1066, and thus the processor is at 1.6.h0M3bReW3r said: ↑I just noticed that on the US dell they are doing 800MHz ram and on the UK its 1067MHz. One rather important question, is the SU4100/7300 soldered to the motherboard or removable? if it's socket based, we can pop in a faster cpu right? assuming the bios supports it of course.
