Has anyone tested the Battlefield Bad Company 2 DEMO on this?
-
I seriously doubt it, in a market where most desktops fail at playing crysis on max settings, don't expect a laptop to do the opposite.
-
Darkhan, the antenna is not included if you don't purchase the WWAN, just as the configurator states.
-
Yes, I did not confirm this, I think my question was misunderstood.
Sorry for the confusion. -
No, I believe it was stated 30fps at medium.

nagshead, I'm going to shoot myself for asking this (i prolly dont wanna know) but are these laptops really going to be shipping in March? I mean even if an exact date isnt known, are they just not ready for the next two weeks or so to even start building them?
I guess I ask just to know whether or not to anticipate a possible shipping change to sometime in mid-feb due to the build stage starting sooner than anticipated. -

if it can play crysis at 30fps even on low thats a pretty good achievement for an 11-incher -
To buy Battlefield 2:BC2 or not to buy... Choices, choices...
-
Crysis at medium is still a beautiful looking game- I can't wait to check it out
-
thank you..
do you by any chance know the settings it can run crysis on?? -
Which is why I want to stick with my Softbank Japan 3G data plan. Cost ranges from $0 if it is not used at all for the month to about $50 USD max depending on usage with unlimited data.
-
Is it so hard to scroll up the page a bit?
-
Did you not read my post? I said 30fps at medium.
-
BF BC2 wasn't that great of a game in the beta I tried. Stick with MW2.
-
So its BC2 - 0 , MW2 - 1 Woots. lol
-
I disagree one thousand times over.
-
I think it was just as crappy as BF BC1 which I paid 60$ for and regretted after spending 4hours with it. MW2 is the true king of FPS.
-
Im loving both.
-
King of FPS? Don't make me laugh. I didn't know opinions could be wrong. Way to ignore Battlefield, ARMA, CS, Team Fortress 2, and some console games that I don't want to mention because I don't know the boards general opinion on the platform. No matter. You'll be done with MW2 after CoD 8 comes out. W00T for yearly sequels.
Let's stop this OT debate.

There's no evidence that Gobi supports Softbank... I'm not sure if it would. When I get my M11x, you can send me your SIM and I'll try it out.
Or you might be able to ask someone at Qualcomm if Gobi supports Softbank.
What phone do you have? There might be some custom tether software out for it. -
@Eggs Scrambled,
Look at the bright side, February is the shortest month of the year. I wouldn't want to get your hopes up and say it's coming sooner. It's worth the wait. -
Would love to compare the performance of the m11x compared to my desktop ol' faithful, or even the shop's gaming rig.
-
I wouldn't. I have an i5 750 with a GTX 275 desktop. I know the m11x won't be anywhere near the performance of that but it is great for mobile gaming if I ever go to a friends house and want to play some games or even at school if I bring my charger with me to plug into the wall.
-
So...I'm trying to pick out a monitor for my xbox 360 / m11x needs. I've been looking at this thing for a while now:
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...etail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-8218
And I just got some coupon thing for 15% off on select electronics at dell's site. Any opinions on that monitor? Will it blow up if I try to run my 360 on it? -
Well I would lol. The fact that it might even match the gaming rig would be impressive for such a form factor.
-
well i for one am dying to get mine ( haven't ordered it yet waiting till the 17th) but i am confused.
i understand that you can overclock from 1.3 to 1.6 by simply turning on the overclocking feature, but can you overclock further? because at the rate of 300MHz to 1C wouldn't be epic to turn it up to 1.9 or 2.2 and only going up 2c - 5c?
-
does anyone know if the gaming benchmarks in the hardwareheaven review were done with the BIOS overclocking, or without?
-
Hey Dark, my question keeps getting lost in the speed of the thread but here goes again:
You said that the color is "gunmetal" so is it darker than the lunar silver on the M15x and on the M17x?
again, thanks a ton for all the helpful insider info you've fed us. -
Without most likely.
-
I do believe it was without... not sure though
-
He said its darker, some 5 pages back.
-
why not this http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...etail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-8846
keep with alienware lol -
No use for the 3d thing. i started looking around on some forums / websites and i'll probably wait to pick up a monitor.
-
I just purchased a Dell SP2309W which CNet rated as the 3rd best 22-24" gaming monitor. #1 costs 700$, #2 costs 500$ and the SP2309W I purchased from the Dell Ebay clearance store for 200$ 2 weeks ago. It has 2ms response time, web cam, 4 usb ports, etc.
-
I am just wondering on what settings do you think the M11x will run games such as Fallout 3 and Bioshock 1 and 2?
-
Medium at the least in my opinion.
-
No one knows because no one has one to test with. It's very hard to guess what settings will be needed on a laptop that hasn't been released.
-
I'd pity anyone trying to catch up with this forum after forgetting to check it after a day.
-
thanks for the info, I wasn't sure if anyone would have an idea from the results of the games already tested.
-
IGN tested ME2 on all setting maxxed and it averaged 50-ish fps if memory serves me well. So quit worrying and start obsessing.

Thanks for the response, I understand why you can't/won't say anything. I suppose I'll just have to wrap my head around the march shipping then maybe one day this month it will just be on my porch waiting
-
Check this post here for order status.

Website says March 8, phone says March 3. Altough isn't the Delivery date the date you should expect to receive it!? Phone I believe said "ship date" -

I don't like to speculate but I think it's safe to say that the m11x will run any game at least at it's full resolution (1366x768) on either medium or high settings at an average of 30 fps for the foreseeable future. Then when you realize that estimate's for 1.3ghz clock speed and you're given an overclock option you see why the m11x is arguably the best laptop available on the market, especially when you weigh all of it's other positives.
I can't even imagine this thing having a downside that isn't arguably a positive tradeoff (i.e.: not a gtx 260m but better battery life, small form factor, switchable graphics instead) (i.e.: not amazing resolution but do they even make lcd panels with higher resolution at 11"?, and this is supposed to be an amazing looking lcd too) -
Agreed! Personally, I think it does have one negative thing. I wish it would've been more subtle in terms of looks.
-
You can turn all of the lights off, if you want.
-

yeah and put tape over alienware/alien head -
Personally, I like the in your face style. If I want to be discrete, I would have gotten an Acer. Just my opinion.
-
Thanks for the help I am interested in this machine because of the mixture of small size and gaming ability.
-
Or a sticker!
-
Sweet, my order status has gone from "work in progress purgatory" to "in build stage limbo."
