Is the TactX keyboard a modded G15 or a G19?
-
i have a question, can this laptop run Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing at full specs? or at least medium? any reply would be much appreciated.
-
I honestly have no idea...maybe someone else can answer that. It's awesome though, I know that much!
-
it's a modded G15, without the LCD screen and the with 20 color backlighting selections.
-
Awww crud. No LCD? Whyyyy.... Then I'll aim for the mouse then. Bwahahahah...
-
Haha! Nice.
-
game with M11's keyboard and get the TactX mouse = perfect combo!
btw the the cheapest deal i found for the TactX mouse is RM230. still, i am keeping my faithful MX518.
-
G9s are in the RM300 ish range while G5s are in the RM210 range. G500s are in the RM 270 range but I can get it for RM219. As for the MX518 I can get that form RM98. LAWL.

Nope i'm still at "work in progress" i only have my crappy Msi wind and bioshock 2 comes out tuesday! *sigh*
-
i was thinking of getting the same mouse nice
comes with case as well
-
does anyone know if you get the mouse mat and cap like when you get a m15x and m17x?
-
This is my issue. the rig i have being an LG P310 is a 13.3 but is between 3-4 pounds with the 9600gt and a better CPU. I realy like the alien ware but I dont want to blow nearly the same money on a tiny gaming rig that cant best my current tiny gaming rig
-
And suddenly the base model on the EPP site costs $1069? FFFFUUUUU! I knew I should have ordered yesterday! Goddamn dad's pointless delaying.

RM219 for G500?! tempting!
-
Actually its a staff discount. Hehehehe. Giggles more. Actually I just found out my budget is bigger than expected. RM 2000 from the Studio 15, RM 1750 from the HP Mini 2140 and another RM450 from my last month's paycheck. STACK BUFFER OVERFLOOWWW!!
-
that's helluva cash mate! go for the RM3999 configuration + 3 years complete cover, just gotta top up like 50? was quoted RM42xx. (online price RM44xx)
oh ya btw since u're working in a tech store, plenty of discounts for peripherals eh? thinking of getting the G15 v2.
-
Still going to push the discounts. Going to keep the remainder. Might want to get an ext display.
Yeah tons, we get like a price that's the supply price marked up by RM2.
EDIT: We have a G19 in stock lol. RM530 i think. -
push as far/deep/hard as you can! haha. yup of getting an external display too. the S2410 from Dell looks tempting but i shall see. Sammy has plenty of nice RM500-ish 22" displays too. 11.6" for gaming is just too..............small.
G19 is outta my budget, mate! 500 bucks of a keyboard is plain insane (for me).
-
Saw an old G15 in another store for RM299. Looks a bit old (still in original shipping package, a bit yellow already) but unopened
. LOL. Will see, a poor dell rep is going to have a great morning tomorrow
EDIT: I have an ex-classmate who has a rig that can match the aurora ALX and all Razer gaming gear, down to the mousepad. He scoffs at the G19.
-
No ones recieved on yet so we don't know, that info will be published soon I'm sure when the first one hits and we see some unboxing pics
-
it is true I bought one just for this system knowing I'll want to pair it up to my big screen at times, less wire to trip over just in case. The bt response time is superb and wired mode is as good as any high grade gaming mouse. This was why Bluetooth was mandatory for me as I don't use bt anywhere else.
I can also recommend the kabuto mouse pad that goes with the orochi. The size should be perfect fit for the M11x. The quality is very good compared to my razer goliathus. Since it is an edge to edge screen I get annoyed with my oils from the keys getting on the panel so the kabuto can fit in between the screen and keys for protection when closed. I had a similar thing for my unibody MB. Search reviews on this forum
most people have a delivery date within a week of the supposed Mar 10 release date. And usually macs are available the day of or next day in retail to buy. So in terms of sooner availability doesn't really make sense although M11x is certainly a better bet since it's a sure one haha considering it's revealed and up for preorder. -
is it the v1 (blue backlight) or v2 (orange backlight)?
found a v2 for RM250.
full Razer gaming gears? of course he would. haha..
*think we're going off-topic for sometime. better stick to the M11x discussions.
-
Think its the v1. But then again I'm not sure, not my store's stock. Wondering whether to get the display here or in new zealand....
EDIT: How long did you take to haggle the price down by RM200? -
I asked Hardware heaven about this feature and they went and tested it and they said the battery on/off is accessed in the bios and the Fn+F2 (battery key) only displays the status of whether it is on or off, but does not actually make the switch for you unless you reboot into bios, similar to OC'ing. So yeah I dunno if it's because it's an early model or what, but that's what they responded to me when I asked them. Sucks it's via bios but still nice it's available..
*edit* I read in the manual Fn+F2 shows status and enables/disables charging so hopefully HH just wasn't too familar or accurate with this option since I has to ask and tell them what the feature was. We'll see!
this also makes me hope there's an option in Bios, as I've read on other laptops, to allow the alternative F option keys to be inputted without need for Fn and to use F1, F2, F3, etc by pressing Fn +. As much as I use the F# keys in-game I'd much rather the media keys more readily available than the F# keys.. Having those keys on Macbook and then the SXPS just at a single press of a button is very nice (especially volume) since at most times I'm rockin one hand on a mouse. -
some did posted on Feb delivery dates, no? well, at least for M11x, it's something that has been confirmed (with specs etc.) and up for pre-order.
unlike Apple which always secretive and mum on their upcoming releases. if Jobs would have revealed a release date i might have waited for it. plus, specs for the new MBPs are still unknown till now.
for now, sorry Apple. me going Alien!
-
That's my line...
I'm hoping that I can get a good deal tomorrow. Trying to get RM300 ish off. I am a bit of a scrooge.
-
That would be us in UK,but unfortunately I just checked now and it's STILL 'Work in progress' while those in the US have a status of 'In production'.Sigh.
If it doesn't change by tomorrow I'm going to be raging at someone from Dell. =_=
-
Can anyone point me to a good set of instructions for coverting from a hard drive to an SSD.
Meaning how to copy the HD intact to the SSD so its ready to do. -
Just an FYI.
ATT will be officially offering tethering on the iphone
might be more cost effective vs. getting new service -
I'm sure this was posted already but I just came across it now. Not sure how long it has been up.

This was the information I was told Thursday night? I have not tested this myself and that is why I will not confirm this.
Tuesday I am meeting up with Nagshead and maybe he can verify this information for us? -
Performance would be about the same if I had to guess.
Then again the GPU is better in the M11x and OCing the CPU will give a good boost not quit the performance of coreduo found in the LG.
So in CPU dependent games the LG would perform better, in GPU dependent games the M11x .
This is all just a guess so take it with a grain of salt
-
OK!
Any new info will help and + rep for all the very informative posts.
In this instance I hope the 720p output is wrong and you were just told the wrong info.
Thanks again for all the help, you do a great service to us members that are starved for info. for the M11x. -
Why is the 720p question still up for debate. Hasn't it been tested before in HH's review? Also, I haven't heard of any computer that won't let you go up to 1080p output that had an HDMI port in it.
-
Unfortunately it's not that simple, you've gotta re-align the drive. I'd recommend doing a full windows 7 format with your new SSD and just copying over important stuff /reinstalling windows.
If you do a HDD -> SSD drive copy you won't experience the best performance, just reinstall. If you really are interested in doing this drive copy google SSD align partition -
I wonder if this means they will allow the iPhone SIM to work in a WWAN card like Gobi...
-
Thanks. Even if it was there's ten billion posts here, couldn't hurt to post again. THanks.
-
I agree I find it hard to believe it will not do 1080p. However I am not going to tell you it will unless I know for sure?
Can someone pull that from the review? -
so my 10th feb estimated delivery time has just jumped to on or before 25th feb
i was fooling myself to think i had a chance for it to turn up on the 10th.
-
haha sorry nuke i gotta borrow your line.
do inform me on the deal you're able to get. at least i would bargain for more in the future. i was pretty okay when the salesperson said "ahh we can give you 200 bucks the online price".
ordered mine on Wednesday and still stuck in 'order received'.
-
For the 1080p questions see link, under "features" tab. 330m - PureVideo HD 1080p Technology
It certinaly can handle it. only question is can the CPU handle all the codecs out there.
ref - http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/product_geforce_gt_330m_uk.html
Hope that answers your questions. -
I can, download and purchase Achronis true image, and get get an external enclosure. Then just clone your HDD to the SSD. It's the easiest way. And a great back up resource.
If you don't want to do that you might find a cloning program in this thread. But unless you have a secondary HDD bay, with the interposer, you'd still need an enclosure.
Clone is easiest because you simply clone one drive to the next and it makes the 2nd HDD an exact copy of the 1st HDD. Then you can just throw in the 2nd one and run it like it was the 1st. Maybe I'm just getting confusing now lol
-
Here is the page where HH tested 1080p playback on the M11x. Without CoreAVC, the processor spikes fairly high when playing it. With it, however, the M11x handles the movie perfectly.
-
I'm assuming you're in the UK too? D: I haven't received an email saying mine's being changed yet....ACK DELL don't do this to me >< Just checked my order status and it hasn't changed though... ><
-
mine hasnt changed either... it still says 12/2/10
Im also from the UK. -
my Vostro V13 with SU7300 is able to decode 1080p videos flawlessly with CoreAVC. CPU usage remained normal.
-
Yeah HH said it spiked at about 15% with CoreAVC so you could have the movie playing and still do other stuff. This is fantastic.
-
So is NBR getting an advanced review sample? I'm surprised NBR isn't pining AW to get something and vice versa.
