Yea, I saw that after my post, and that is very impressive, especially for the 330M, I would say the M11X can expect at least that level of performance, and that is perfectly playable to me.
Sorry about the small rage, it just gets old to have someone who seems very anti-M11X in the M11X Owner thread.

Wow
Only took me an hour to catchup from the last post I read last night
C'mon guys your slowing down.
Nice vid posted earlier,I think Black will look cooler, even though it will be a fingerprint magnet. -
one of the reason why i come here all the time,,, hehe i am also really excited on m11x 's released..
as there will be alot of benchmark comes.. then
we can compare... -
I just pray that I get it before my EDD of March 12th
March 2nd would be ok as that is my birthday....won't happen though
Side note, on dell.ca when i ordered it I had selected 4gb DDR3 @ 800mhz.
When i check my order(which is like every hour even though it's not being released until march 1st) the same part number shows 4gb DDR3 @ 1066mhz. -
The RAM is underclocked at 800MHz until you overclock the processor which clocks the RAM at 1066MHz. Clockety clock clock.

Hey Fury i have a small request. As per an admin stated pages and pages ago please stop quoting. Just use the @insertname feature. Thank you.
Also thank you for the youtube video with the translation. -
why is everyone surprised about the color? its the exact same thing posted in hardware heaven's review. i like the 2 tone look of it, but black, well you just cant go wrong with black.

Man I want one of these so bad but financially its not in the cards. Maybe I will sell off one of macs so I can pick one of these up. My sister will be inheriting my asus n80 so I will need a windows machine to replace it
-
@abusedbunny
In some pictures it looked darker, maybe it was the lighting. -
Exactly what I thought when I decided to go with black.
Edit: Yay! 1000 posts.
-
I hope not too many people are affected by the battery shortage =\
-
Weird, has battery status lights? Do the 15/17x have them and are they accurate at all or just a gimmick?
-
What battery shortage?
-
I am looking for a case to protect and carry my m11x when it comes. I looked through the list of cases and bags from many pages back, and I have the dimensions of the m11x but I'm going to ask anyways to double check.
Will it fit in this case?
http://www.amazon.com/CaseCrown-Dou...r_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1265616138&sr=8-2 -
yeah battery shortage, 3 weeks lead time makes me emo. Gonna look into other options again just in case.. wait is killing me.
-
do you think that will push the EDD further? or just make it so that no one gets it before their EDD for sure.
-
From Dells Website:
http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/top...main/en/priority_delivery?c=au&l=en&cs=audhs1
Current Delivery Times:
Laptops\Netbooks
Inspiron 11z, Inspiron 13z, Inspiron 14z, Inspiron 15, Studio 15, New Studio 17, Inspiron Mini 10 9-12 working days
Adamo, Adamo XPS 10-13 working days
Alienware M15x, Alienware M17x 10-14 working days
Alienware M11x 20 working days
Blah, thats 4 weeks from order they are saying there. So about the same as the day I ordered. -
-
Just checked the site myself - not showing any shortages on the site/link (Preliminary Ship Date Link/popup) - yet.
and - to boot - all of my statuses on the website have changed to "In Production" - whereas before - depending on which web page you were on - it showed either "In Production", "Pre Production", or "Work In Progress".
re:screen issues/concerns....
I recently purchased an 11z for my daughter for Xmas last year, along with a mini 10 for my other daughter. The 11z screen (1366x768 - and probably - I'm betting - the same possible screen to be used in the m11x - is fantastic.
I'm really pleased with the 11z - and I'm expecting the m11x I've ordered to be close in size/form factor, etc.
Quite honestly - the size is perfect for a sub-notebook/netbook IMHO - the mini 10 is a little too small for my tastes. -
any form of shortages will not be shown on the online order tracking site. only the sales and customer service rep will have access to such information.
anyway, discussions on order status should be over here:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=456131&page=26 -
I guess I am outta the loop but I thought the official release / ship date was March 1st.....
-
Funny - as last year when I ordered my desktop (Studio XPS Tower) - there were numerous reports of a shortage on keyboards noted in the boards here and at dell. Sure enough - that information was confirmed via the Preliminary Ship Date on the online site (within a few minutes of the first post noting the shortage).
Anyway - I *hope* it isn't the case.. but I wouldn't be surprised. My EDD is 3/11/10 - so I have awhile to wait anyway.
-
EDIT: I'm referring to the online site where you purchase the m11x - not the orderstatus site... - simply go to the site - click on the first page to where you can select your options - and click on the "Preliminary Ship Date" link on the left - that will pop open a window with information regarding the build time (currently 20 days) as well as any information with regards to shortages, part delays, etc.
-
ahh i thought you were referring to the order status page.
-
Hmmm, Dell says the Alienware TactX mouse is only compatible with the M17X. It's not true, right?
-
I just emailed my rep about the shortage and affecting the EDD. I will let y'all know what he says.
-
@eggs = there you go.
@wingzee = Sigh, you just confirmed the initial fears. We have overwhelmed the Dell production line. We'll see who's laughing now ay engies? -
Even if we exhausted the supplies, Dell should have plenty to meet the needs of the first weeks' orders. It's not profitable of them to not be ready to meet demands of a product release. I don't understand why it's been only over a week after the release and they are behind already.
Is Dell that disorganized? I don't really think so. Hopefully someone is just pulling your leg, wing. -
Don't think its Dell's fault. "points at explosion of thread" I think we just pwnt their production team.
-
Is the Dell Latitude E4200 SSD compatible with the AW M11x, I hope it is
-
Logan see the sig. EDDs over there.
-
hopefully, mate. i believe Dell is ready for huge orders but still they might not have expected such huge orders like this.
haha. for a thread that moves almost 30 pages a day. true indeed!
-
Bummer. I finally got my Dell Preferred Account situation resolved, but the rep's supervisor is refusing to honor the coupons from my quotes because they're expired... I understand that they're expired, but it wasn't MY fault that the account was messed up (no really, i even got a coupon to use towards my next purchase out of the mess) but it really is a drag that they wont honor my quotes. I have been trying to give them money since day one of the M11x being available ;P
Anyone have any EPP reps that did them solid? PM me their name please and I'll see if they will honor the quotes I have. -
Dell doesn't like honoring codes that expired / stacked.
-
it'd be fine if they would honor one of the codes, i dont mind the not stacking issue, but I'm ordering two systems. the $200 i'd be saving ($100 off of each as they are right at $1k) is a big chunk of the cost of an intel or OCZ SSD and if I have to wait for next month's 50/100 off coupons to come out I will.
-
@zlog
I ordered my M11x the day before the coupons/stacking business so I missed out on that. I called to possibly cancel my order; at first the rep offered to take $50 off, then went to $100 off so I don't cancel. If they are not going to honor much off, maybe try that route, buddy. -
@ wing = Think the Dell engies are going "Oh schnap, karma got us good this time"
-
Yeah I'll probably call and be somewhat annoying on Friday, have that day off
I don't have as much leverage as you though since I haven't already placed an order. I guess I could say "Hey, take $100 each system or I'm not ordering." -
@zlog
If you have a good credit line, I would order first, then make the cancel call. You should order on Friday, then call to cancel. Like you said, you'll have more leverage if you give them the money, then try to take it back. It's only business and negotiation. -
I might try that... Put the order through and then immediately call and say "hold on a minute.... i thought this was with these coupons" lol
-
GL, sometimes a rep has noticed if I said something in the conversation and instead of offering 50$ off to keep my order just ended up canceling it because he knew I wanted to keep it but get more $ off.

battery shortage shouldnt affect the first orders, like on 2/2 like mine. If they have any batteries I'd assume they would go to people who ordered first. Of course then there's the whole stupid crap of being able to call and get them to push your order to the front, which I think is completely messed up to say the least.
20 days until delivery doesnt even mean anything, not sure what you guys are all upset about, that would put orders place on the 2nd at about the 22nd for delivery, sounds just about right if you ask me. Even if it was from the initial build stage it'd be the 25th, not sure what all the hubbub is about except for new orders, which are so insanely far behind in the queue, well good luck anyways. -
Eggsy the put your order in front only goes as far as delivery. The parts still follow the proper order.
-
@Eggs Scrambled thanks for that post it's given me some hope that it might actually arrive ontime since I ordered quite early, as far as Dell are concerned the 22nd still stands.
-
Eggs Scrambled Notebook Evangelist
wow this thread died quick! way to go dell with your battery shortage!
-
Ironically, I won't mind furyagain or bluehaze for that matter posting right now.
-
yeah , i need something else to be doing than constantly checking the forums. sadly, it wont make dell work any faster =\
-
@nuke737
really ????
i don't have much to say right now tho..........
i am on my bed playing some game in window mode on my r480 -
You folks think the waiting is bad now - just wait until you receive that confirmation email (if you signed up for it) stating your system has shipped. How about when you check the FedEx site and it shows it shipped but it arrives at the FedEx local hub after the morning sort and trucks have already headed out for their Friday run. Meaning, its sitting at your local FedEx hub/distribution center and its the weekend now and you have to wait until Monday since Dell requires FedEx to make one delivery attempt prior to holding at the hub and no matter how much you beg the phone rep to hold it for you for pickup they cant do it (well, somtimes they can).
Argh - now that is frustration. Hang in there folks. We have all been there before anxiously waiting.
