My status did update to Next Business Day shipping... So I'm a lil' happier with a 3/4 EDD.

From the post just before yours:

"So I would expect your EDDs to move out. The move out also deactivates the automated systems Dell has that tries to cancel orders by forcing you to call or email to reconfirm that you want to wait and keep the order active."

I paid around $950 for the prev one, but did not get BT, got the stock HD and RAM with the plan to buy the components from Newegg.

Price is in no way, shape, or form an object for me, I just hate giving money to a lackluster company like dell. Dont get me wrong, I love their products and deeply adore my M15x but I feel the support is far from where it needs to be for such high quality products.

Also, I will update you guys to make sure I had no issues cancelling with Dell and will post a review as soon as she comes in! Good luck to everyone else waiting for Dell to ship your orders, which will probably be sometime in the end of april or may or june or....considering its dell....sometime by the end of this year.

    God speed!

That seller has a 94% rating. On eBay, a 94% rating (for me anyway) = absolutely no go. Also, a number of his buyers mentioned delays of between a month and six weeks before receiving the product. Did you notice the only item he has for sale is the M11x? As the saying goes "Don't count your chickens until they're hatched."...

And by buying the M11x from an ebay seller your ultimately giving your money to which company again?

Yeah, seems like a bit of patience could have paid off unless you just really wanted to get the better system without reordering through dell and waiting for the whole process again.

It seems like more and more orders are going out; I don't think it hurts to be patient unless you're in some sort of situation where it was time critical to get the laptop.

This , and it contributes to the tertiary market. The same way used games do.

Also, the dell rep confirmed to me before I cancelled that there is indeed a parts shortage and the chances of me recieving my order by the EDD were slim.

For those who are unfamiliar with even the most basic functions of ebay, please note the following:
    - He guarantees to ship within 24 hours in the order info
    - He has proof of it in hand
    - His last 18 transactions for the past year have all been excellent with very positive feedback
    - His only negative comments were from his early sales

This thread is not about ebay however, so please stay on topic. I am confirming another dell rep who stated that my EDD was likely to be pushed back.

Yeah there is something seriously wrong with the way dell is handling this situation. People order and get their systems sent out in 11 days or 9, and we that ordered when it first came out get screwed something just doesn't add up.

I mean no offense to those that just ordered and are getting their systems.
    Congrats.

Some people might have already noticed this (since I think it was an issue before). But the EPP site for the M11x still has restricted configurations... While I just noticed the normal dell.com page for the M11x has the $799 base config.

Has it been like this the entire time?

The dont have restrcited configurations. Build your system on the normal site, and email the cart to yourself. Call a EPP rep then forward the cart to him/her. They will place the order and you will get the EPP price.

Purolator is great. I got mine today at 1pm EST. Everytime I order something from onhop.ca or DirectCanada.com, it's always Purolator and they are really fast.

I'll be uploading a youtube video with Software performance (photoshop, 3D studio Max etc.) instead of game benchmarks (ton of those already). See you all in the owner's thread :)

I take the time to provide links, please take the time to read them:

"Brand new in box, opened only to fully customize with all proper drivers/updates, install Office 2010, and to stress-test for stability! 100% MINT CONDITION in Factory Box & Packaging!
Fully loaded with upgrades and additional software included! Read on for more details!"

Ergo, it is better than a unit from Dell because it is guaranteed to be stable when OC'd.

He has one unit left, $1299. It includes a lot of nice software and is pretty much the price you pay from Dell (unless you nickel and dime with EPP and other coupons)

lol, you said to go back to topic and then post 4 more posts about your ebay purchase. nice one. If you are willing to pay for a more expensive unit and have increase risk by buying it through a third party. Go right ahead. Please stop justifying your purchase and just give us your order status when he gives you it in 24 hours. Personally I wouldn't take that risk.

    @ darka

You can't cancel your order anymore. You are in the same boat as me: unlucky on parts and production lines but they are building ours, so we can't cancel em anymore.

well personally i wouldn't think of it as a better unit from Dell because Dell goes through a testing phase themselves and if they catch anything they can fix it on the spot. He claims he stressed tested it but who knows? and what if there were instabilities he would have to send it back to Dell anyway. You paid a premium from a 3rd party that probably would have to send it back to Dell if there was something wrong with it anyway and he could've skeeted on the screen and wiped it off and sent it right to you for all you know. I am glad you're happy with your purchase but yeah, you really don't need to go trying to justify your purchase..

Sorry to hear that many of the people here find ebay to be some sort of flea market and prefer to wallow in their ignorance.

The only differences for me from keeping my order from dell is better specs and I get it in a few days, not a few months, by which time this computer will already be obsolete.

The configuration I purchased is pretty much the same cost of the one on Dell's site, so I'm not sure where you guys get some of these outlandish facts...

The people who ordered 2/2-2/4 were able to secure a fairly nice discount of ~$250 by stacking coupons on the EPP site before they killed the stacking and later raised the price. I think the average was around $800-900 for a very nicely configured M11X.

Yeah mine was $884 total after my rep threw in free overnight. Specs are SU7300, 4GB RAM, 160 HDD, Bluetooth, and Gobi (which really knocked it up). Totally worth the wait if it comes on my EDD, not so much if it comes a month after. :p
