    @arcade

I wouldn't trust a few hundred dollars on what a rep said. You think if you order now that you won't get your laptop until may+? Some people have received their laptops after placing the order 12 days ago. Reps are trained in reading scripts and paid low wages. Take what they say with a grain of salt. At the extreme, orders will take a month to ship and that is the extreme. Dark, ceol, me, and few others are part of that group. lucky us. I would gladly save 400 dollars and wait 2 more weeks for my laptop.

Do you think dell would be backed up "a couple months" on orders? That's just bad business: pushing them out onto consumer's hands = $$$. That's why there are more issues with the M11x that usual; they pushed it out a little too soon. but, hey, I'm not complaining.

order status is a tricky beast.

    you paid 1200 + shipping?

i got su7300, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, bluetooth 986 shipped w/ free NBD shipping. im looking at another week or 2 until i get it, better specs and save over $200 and i'm the first one to open it.. i have nothing against ebay, i'm glad you like paying more for the laptop, it makes me feel better about my purchase i myself kinda regret paying this much but i'll probably be happy once i receive it.

if there was some sort of shortage then I'd have expected to sit in Work in Progress rather than move into build

    Very lucky sir,

I ordered on 19 Feb, and my EDD is 25 Mar. I know Montana is backwards, but our mailmen dont ride horses anymore! I hope that my EDD moves up.

CopyCatz 10 days thats awesome! where does it ship from? Is it Ireland ? Or China? I'm going to Boston on Thursday (based in London) kinda hoping it arrives before then although not sure that it will.

I assumed Ireland as Dell used to build alot of stuff there.

Eh... I'm a little confused here. First you said he is shipping it overnight to you (i.e. arriving the next day). Then you slightly changed the story and said that he guarantees to ship within 24 hours (which is not the same as overnight shipping). Then I read the listing and see that it's none of those and that he will ship via FedEx ground within 48 hours of receiving payment. Why didn't you just state what it said on the listing in the first place?

Also, the laptop you bought is overpriced. It's quite clearly ~20% more than what he paid for it from AW, sure he has to make money somehow...
Excellent feedback? He has 94.4% feedback. As a regular buyer and seller on eBay, that is one of the worst feedback ratings I have ever seen. Within the last three months he has two buyers leave negative and neutral feedback due to lengthy waiting times.

I'm in Holland, the first place mentioned on my UPS trace was Frankfurt, Germany. I think someone mentioned that the European models come from Poland? Just in case someone is still debating purchase:

    - The black color is awesome
    - It's a bit heavy yes, but I actually like it. The unit feels cold/metallic and paired with the weight it's like I now own a military grade laptop :)
    - No fan issues
    - No dead pixels
    - No hinge issues
    - No power brick issues

Just a mean little gaming laptop. Already spent 6+ hours yesterday playing Modern Warfare 2. Actually my fingers get a bit cramped from the (smaller?) wasd keys, so I'm thinking of buying a gamepad like this http://www.crazypc.com/images/inputdevices/keypads/cybersnipa/full_game_pad_006.jpg

The discounts from Dell EPP plus the coupons mean many saved 300 to 400

The rep offered to do that for me. You can cancel any time up to ship. Once you notify them of your intent to cancel they must do so or foot the bill of return shipping.

You can also refuse delivery and I would call the carrier before its delivered to do so...cause if they leave it at your door then its delivered.

I think we all feel your facts are outlandish.

No one waited a few months, and most paid WAY less. You wanted it quick, and that's the only understandable reason you have offered. You paid for that.

Be sure that seller transfers the warrany to you as it is in their name, and not yours. And get a copy of their receipt something they should be willing to provide.

I remain in the build stage with a supposed EDD of 3/5 (ordered on 2/5). It is so frustrating to see the high balance of people in the forum receiving their systems and the few of us that are perpetually struck in "Build" with seemingly no recourse to get information from Dell - truly some of the worst customer service I have experience, only topped by HP.

I know it's time to quit calling Dell when even the Indian reps start to get angry with me :-(

I'm pretty sure dell warranties are transferable as long as you know the details of the person the warranty is under. I've done it before but was a few years ago.

Ebay is pretty reliable IMO. Have several hundred transactions, been ripped off twice. Paypal reimbursed me 100% both times.

I don't like that guys claims though on his auction. It's obviously BS salesman talk catering to someone who doesn't know anything. "Overclocking services" and most likely pirated office version

Looks like he sold out anyway. There is one guy in Nashville selling one.

Dell Ireland have no more production lines in Ireland they are all moved to lodz in Poland. The rep I spoke with advised me that all M11X production is in china. My order date 22/02 and my EDD is 10/03 but the rep said I should recieve it 05/03 fingers crossed. I'd say the delay with the early orders was something of a quality issue and instead of issueing new units to people that ordered early I would say your units or in a re work area and then re tested i.e the early orders where guinea pigs in testing. Pardon my ignorance but I am as you would say a noob can someone advise what you mean by benchmarking and what is involved in this process i.e cause and effect.

    Ordered: 2/26/10
    Shipped!!!!: 2/27/10

Got my tracking number this morning!
Got the express service tag from the guy as well to check with dell on the warranty status, and I still have 100% coverage!

I can't wait till it arrives on monday. My plan is to make another review vid like I did for my M15x and then begin testing the games that have not been benched yet. Here is my list thus far:
    - Aion
    - Eve Online
    - WoW (in a raiding environment)
    - Dead Space
    - Borderlands
    - Counter Strike: Source

Let me know if you guys wanna see anything else tested!

At what point should those of us in build purgatory get worried about missing ESD? I am 6 days away from ESD of 3/5 (ordered 2/7). Have resisted the urge to call up to now since I knew the ESD/EDD when I ordered, so not going to complain that I am not getting it early - but don't want the ESD to slip either.

At six days out I am starting to get concerned.

No idea. My ESD is 3/3, which is this Wednesday. If my status isn't "Shipped" by then, I'll start worrying. Some people have said that the status will not update until it's in the "Shipped" stage, so we just have to wait and see.

Of course the warranty will be still valid, it's a brand new machine. Will it be valid to you? No, it's valid to the original purchaser only. Alienware warranties are non-transferable. As you haven't believed the previous posters who have already mentioned this, maybe this article might convince you.

Just so you're aware, we're not trying to have a go at you (we're actually trying to help). We know you wanted the M11x quickly and paid over the odds for that privilege, but sacrificing the warranty also could be a costly mistake. Just remember this is a brand new machine, and first revision models usually have more issues than later revision models. But if that's not too much of a concern for you, then I wish you well with the laptop and look forward to your benchmarks.

of you live in the us and you go to fedex and then you go to track by reference and use your order number for your reference you can usually find your tracking number. i was in the prepared for shipping stage for around 5 days but i think the laptop has been moving since i found the tracking number using tracking by reference

    Estimated delivery Feb 27, 2010
loll mmm I'm guessing it's late!
