so i ordered my laptop on the 18th and its EDD just got pulled to march 26, Do I smell refurbished?!?! Q.Q anyone else has like a 1week time of arrival?!

Guess bottom line here is it seems, at least to me, to be a strange thing that dell is getting orders our a week ahead of time. I have ordered quite a few things from dell and they have NEVER got it to me earlier than the EDD. I ordered a laptop a while back, and XPS16 and they went 2 months past my EDD. I only plan on buying one more thing from dell and that is the Mini 5 when it comes out and I would be willing to bet that it comes later than the EDD. (please do not turn my last statement into a Dell Mini 5 Discussion) smile

Well, orders to the US are being shipped as quickly as they are to Europe.. if it's illegal to sell used as new over there then we can only assume that the m11x is being produced quicker now than it was immediately after launch. I don't think there's anything to worry about.

I know that one time I got a refurbished ps3 as new from newegg, but they replaced for me when it broke in 1month. that is why im kinda worried. Also one time Dell gave me a defective 8600M GT card and they wont admit that its faulty because it can run the OS but cant game without crashing, as they said the inspiron 1720 is not meant for gaming, so that part is not covered. And when I tried to return it they slabbed me with a restocking fee, so I decided to keep that laptop and not game on it.

Ok, I have a problem. When I check my Order Status on my PC, it says nothing! Everything is empty, but there is an item, total amount of items is 1.
I tried to look it up on my ipod, and that actually worked, and if I push the "export" button on my desktop the info opens in Microsoft Excel, very weird.
Does someone know whats wrong? It's quite annoying. -
Ok, here is my next adventure stop with Dell. I checked their website and it said shipped. I got my fedex number which said it shipped and I should have it by 3pm today. 2pm came around and I was getting worried so I called Fedex and they said that Dell initiated the shipping but never followed through so the package is STILL sitting at Dells shipping department. I asked Fedex why they didnt update the status rather than having me wait here til 3pm know well that they did not have the package."we are sorry Sir, I dont have an answer for that". I called to talk to Dell and escallated this to a manager who is suppose to call me back within 4 hours. Im REALLY done with Dell this time, Im just gonna cancel the order or refuse shipping.

Just tried to canceled my Order and Dell said I couldn't so I told them I am going to refuse shipment, good luck to everyone who is waiting...Dell has problems with their customer service and I am truly done with them.

I did that once and it took an incredibly long time to get my refund (i.e., 2+ months). Alternatively, I've accepted orders and called in for a RMA and had it back out the next day. -
Just received my order, very pleased with it. Trying not to giggle while using it at work.

I ordered mine on the 22nd, should be here on the 6th! I hope it gets bumped to a sooner date.
On a side note, I also ordered the tactx mouse and headphones, I however do not need the 6 feet of USB cable the mouse has on it. I can shorten that by soldering and trimming right?
I am a car mechanic so I know how to take things about, but I dont do much with computers cept for "pwning the noobs" -
Well it is on the dell credit card and I had no payment for 1 years so I think I can wait that out, if they make me pay a minimum payment, then they will just have to give me back the credited monies in the end. I really dont want to accept it because then they will say that they are going to take 15% out for a restocking fee..

Alright. Headed into cranky phase. We have been looking at an order "shipped" status on the Dell check order status tool since Monday, yet the $$ for our two ordered laptops still sits in the bank = definitely NOT shipped (and no tracking info received). The order status pulled up through our order confirmation emails, however, still reflects our hardware as "in production." Our EDD is still at 3/31, though, but seeing some of these recent posts illuminating more frustrating outcomes of this process, is causing concern.
I just want my new computer!!

M11x arrived 2 hours ago... and damn it's gorgeous. Checked for any faults, LCD hinge - perfect (no creaks.. also no panel gap), Keyboard also perfect, bar one light strip under the space bar being dimmer than the rest, fan isn't as loud as i thought, camera fine, tried portal - stable at a high frame rate.. a very happy owner so far.. currently installing TF2 and Mass Effect.

I hope it get's here in one piece, I know lots of people who hate dell because of it's horrible costumer support, and other known issues. -
I've always loved alienware, but always hated dell, hmm.

Well both are one in the same now. Not to mention all these new Alienware designs are largely due to Dell's input and manufacturing ability. Without Dell, Alienware would still be stuck using rebadged clevo's. -

Ordered on 3-19 with EDD of 4-7. Got confirmation it shipped today with new EDD of 3-27! I only paid for 2nd day business and I thought it very odd I would get it next day and on a Saturday to boot so I called Fedex. They confirmed its scheduled for a home delivery on tomorrow and its really been picked up and on the way! woot!!

Update: have finally received order shipped emails. Seems to be a bit of confusion on Fedex's side, with one of our two laptops seemingly MIA. Dell has assured us, however, that they have passed both packages off to Fedex and that it just might take a while for Fedex to update the system.
So far, this has kind of been a screwy ordering experience that I would be hesitant to repeat. Not a whole lot of clarity anywhere in the process in any regard, which is frustrating. And Dell STILL hasn't pulled the money for the purchase. Awfully trusting of a company to ship such pricey products (TWO!) out without pulling payment, no?
At least I can see that we are not alone in this, as other posters have expressed frustration with the Dell online ordering process. -
