    2.5" SATA. EDIT - here, these are all compatable (although I strongly recommend sticking with samsung, intel, or indilinx based drives - OCZ Agility/Vertex, Corsair P-series, OCZ Summit, or any Intel drive will all be good).

    Yes, if you buy a 2.5" SATA USB enclosure. Like these.

    also noticed that. Looks like if you're preparing for a reimage you'll have to find an external cdrom drive or pull them off the cd onto your USB stick on a host computer

    Here's the WiFi card driver, from the Dell site:

    http://support.dell.com/support/dow...typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=362438

    Edit: it's an Intel 5100 card so we know for sure now.

    I was actually talking to a guy who got both an M11X and a SC2 beta key, he said all high settings and it runs smooth as silk. But not a surprise, SC2 will run on a 8 year old computer. It was on the hard forums, I am not sure I can find it though.

    What is sad is I am the biggest Blizzard fan ever, literally own every game they made since Warcraft. Have all those games that are online enabled registered on my Bnet account. I have NEVER been invited to beta test any of their games.

    Post your request in the benchmark thread, though thus far, I don't believe I seen anyone that mentioned they would be using those software. So you might need to wait awhile before there's any results posted

    Here is the driver for the 1520. http://files.laptopvideo2go.com/wlan/broadcom_v5.60.48.18.exe It's the most up-to-date driver for the 1520 (even better than the one on Dell's site).

    I was under the impression the M11x came with the 5100 (a Dell rep told me either a 5100 or 5300 and the Dell driver site has the 5100 drivers on it). My apologies.

    Hey All, I know you guys were talking about the discounts earlier on. Just wondering if there is one for Australia, I have looked through the EPP that my company has registered for but no luck finding one. It would be nice because it is AUD $1599 I have ordered but the payment has not been taken out yet.

    I'm not 100% sure what you are asking, but you can use the 1.8" in an enclosure. Just remember that a drive in an enclosure is external and will connect to your pc via USB or and eSATA bus (not on the M11x). You will have to look around to see if you can find an adapter for internal use of the drive.

    As a side note, Newegg is giving away a free external enclosure with the retail Intel x25-M G2's. You can use the enclosure to clone your HDD to the SSD and then swap them out. It makes the process rather simple and your HDD can be used as an external.

    @dio

    thats all fine and great, but when i first powered mine on and looked in the device manager it was a dell card with a broadcom driver. NOT intel

    i've also opened it up for grins and guess what? it says DW1520.

    as i stated before in the midst of all the useless posts here recently the bluetooth drivers and wireless drivers on the support page are either missing or wrong.

    btw heres a smiley for you so as not to come off as rude :D its a bit hard to get or give any relevant info here unfortunately.

    i've DL'ed the SC2 beta and fraps guys and i promise something tomorrow evening if no one else does it. i have a nasty headache atm and playing games isn't on the menu.

    how does the 1520 compare to the 5300? I've had a 5300 in Dell SXPS1640 and had no issues, but I dunno how well the 1520 works. Any complaints problems on the card itself?

    No worries meng its all about the info I should have mine tomorrow and find out myself. In the mean time it is a little disconcerting that they cant even get a little thing like the wireless card driver right on their own page.

    i was just chatting with Dell Parts about the wwan card and they told me that 5520 card from m1330 can be installed on this. I asked about the Gobi card which is offered with this laptop and the rep didnt know anything about it. Is there any major difference between them two?

    @kawser

    I prefer to not use adapters because they can be trouble, but if you want to look into it this thread may help you out. I would norrow the search down to adapters that meet your required specs, then try to find out if anyone else has had luck with your drive or one similar with the adapter.

    Wow, thanks for straightening me out guys. I'm really bummed this thing doesn't have eSATA. Sounds like I'm going to need to run out and grab a bus-powered external USB HDD. And I wish this thing had at least an express card slot so I could add USB 3.0! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148529

    Oh well, the information was there before I ordered :p (Not that something so insignificant would make me NOT want this laptop)

    Regarding the people asking about SSD's, make sure you get one with TRIM support! Without it, the drive will deteriorate before you've handed down the laptop.

    yes. im using the 5ghz band on my netgear. only thing is that yesterday before the reformat i was getting over 200 now its down to 130 which is why i was asking for another owner to check their drivers.

    also my orochi paired fine before, now it just hangs at the connecting to device screen.

    also the sammy thats in mine is trim enabled.

    @shadow did you get the samsung SSD in your config from Dell? If so, I don't understand what's taking my order so long to even get into boxing stage. If you were up to it, could you PM me your order# so I can give an example of another order that has shipped? Dell reps have been no help at all.

    btw thanks for the info on the TRIM enabled Samsung SSD. Glad to know.

    Mine is coming on the 23rd, it shipped on the 20th, estimated ship date was the 2nd of march... :)

    Unfortunately, My daughters Mini 10 was supposed to be here on the 19th, it got delayed until the 25th.

    But hey, lets look at the brighter things instead. :)
