Very nice work Don, keep it up!

The OS really does not mean much....since regardless of which you are using, you hack it down to almost nothing to optimize the system for benching haha

For what it is worth, all my runs were done on Windows 7 RC1 - and I was the top score in the world for a few weeks till Mandrake just eeked out a better CPU run! lol (and like 5 points on the GPU)

As soon as my new motherboard comes in (tomorrow maybe) I will be back at it :)

lol! I obliterated your score. You're not going to be able to keep up this time around. You still need a class in CPU OC'ing 101. :p

    uh huh

You got me by like 20 on GPU and 300 on CPU (with a higher OC I will add). I am obviously comparing your GTX 280m runs and not the 4870 ones lol

If you are teaching that class, I will sit in ;)

the difference was 76 points in P overall, that aint quite a thrashing, when you consider the next best one is over 200 below my score :)

Of course I do not plan on stopping. Just need to get a motherboard that will actually use my battery for more current so that I can OC again haha - pretty sure that is what killed my OC's

And I am ready for your magical CPU OC class...since aparently I am such a noob in that department ;)

I may not be able to catch those 4870s, but I can at least try to have the best score for GTX 280m SLI

i'm also tryingto compete but I can only do gpu runs for know. Drake put up some dmc4 runs also. No aa 2aa 8aa. And stocked and overclocked.

I AM also going to overclock my x run and see what I get. I AM hoping for 6k but it doesn't seem likely.

Magical? lol! Don't forget to bring your magic wand.

I thought you said you already hit 3.2Ghz but it didn't survive and hour of OCCT. Did it survive the Vantage CPU tests?

I'll have time later. I did one DMC4 run already and was well below my previous score. I haven't tried to figure that one out yet.

    idk, never ran haha

Always used Vantage/06 as my GPU stability test since as we know, a GPU may throw errors but still handle a 3D load just fine

1080 is a suicide run for me. I like 1060. I hate even moving memory from stock because memory chips die so easy.

it's weird though cause my cpu is back at 3.212ghz. Which is what I was fine with when I got it then it wasn't working and now it is????

it depends on the system you are testing. But I haven't used x86 in a while. So I don't know what would you choose with that.

For the obvious reason. There's going to be some overhead for a 32bit app to work on a 64bit operating system.

Don, Can you get more Oc'n from your CPU? If you can't, then thats the end of that. Otherwise clock your CPU and definetly, your P Score will go up. That is what I am noticing(Low CPU score). If your CPU can't OC any higher, then the CPU is the bottleneck.

no my cpu is at it's max. i have a dual core stock at 2.5ghz and 800mhz. i pumped it to 1000mhz fsb to 3.125 and pumped it to 3.212ghz 3.25ghz bluescreens instantly after 15secs of stress. there's no more coming out of the cpu. unless i tweak the OS even more which doesn't seem likey.

but i'm glad to be in the 12k club. :)

    thanks everyone.

Lol. i want to aim for higher for the voltage mod is all i have left up in bag of tricks. i honestly wish i had some more voltage. getting a quad and pumping it over 3ghz(really hoping) i should squeeze 100-200 more points out of the cards.

with overvolting, how high did the core/shader go up to?
