ATI wins Babyhemi and even if these benchmarks were not higher they win in the gaming performance category as well ... My W90 was getting much better framerates in game then my M17x ever did ...

Love that Spy vs Spy pic :D..

750/900 would make your laptop equal to a desktop 4870x2.....which would be BEAST lol

    asolutley

I havent even flashed my 280's, dont feel the need for them

Will see what the 4870 XT for the m980 is like my supplier should be getting some samples soon.

But if it takes such extreme measures to overclock them i fold.

I wont be doing that to a £2500 laptop

No I have not. Just the clocks.

Yes. I still need to actually try gaming with this but from everything I've seen so far I don't think it will be worse.

I don't know if I'd call it an extreme. Flashing firmware is a common practice just for keeping systems up to date. You think those 4870s are going to be different? Do you know the specs?

hoesntly it should be the same. With the same mxm port. The only thing I AM worried about is the crossfire cable for it. I hope it fits and works for the m17x.

    Aim for 20k :p

You can sometimes modify the catalyst settings to improve performance quite nicely.

It's only required for benchmarking. If you want to game you know the 260s-280s and 4870s stock are more than enough for gaming.

What patch/update would I require for the Crysis benchmark on the first page (As I mentioned earlier, some of the trees flicker while running the benchmark)

drake. I want you to know that I AM after your x gpu run stock gpu overclocked cpu. I AM at 4700 right now. I was at 4,100 but I guess somthing was conflicying with it. I was at 4,600 but I gained one hundred more points. I AM hoping since I AM at 1920*1200, my cpu won't hold it back as much as p run.

    yours is 5200 right?

going to far would be rewiring your new computer. flashing cards in high end machines is pretty much common practice now. since the cards appear to come under clocked and under voltage to start with. if they didn't want you to get that little bit extra...they would not have put it there to begin with.... (speculation of course)

    looking dammn good!!

nah, that was someone else at 5200...but then he hasn't ran it while gpus are over clocked yet.

i agree that it may be standard nowadays

I just have no confidence in the methodolgy involved, esp on a laptop where replacement cards etc are hard to come by should you screw it up

Blind flashes are never fun as it is and i certainly dont want to be doing it when i cant just pop down to novatech and buy a new card to replace one should i brick it

sorry benching just doesnt mean that much to me, so i pass the torch on to a braver m980nu owner.

Your GPU score would be. Others with quad procs haven't gotten it that high. What are your GPU clocks? Are you just using NST?

Also was your X run stock?

Your GPU score is now knocking on the 12K door. Keep it going!

I hope Pman is watching this as don is showing the proc doesn't matter for the GPU runs. You need to get back to benching Vantage.

I think Mandrake got better score because he used vista32 but other used vista64 (from my knowledge, running benchmark in vista32 usually get better score then vista64)
