Just finished reinstalling the trusty 'all-around' driver, 186.82. Its not the DOX driver, but for grins I thought I'd do a quick single GPU run. No OC - all stock. :nah:

yeah 3.212 is max. That's 257 on the bus speed. 258 is unstable completely even though it's 3.225ghz.

I will overclock high and overvlt everything soon.

You know you are going to wake up in an hour and feel the need to bench... You'll start your runs... one will turn into two... three into four and then next thing you know its 4am and you are reinstalling yet another driver. ;)

Get some rest - hats off to the nice runs you have been churning out...

My Vantage Advanced Key from eBay is already registered. I just need a new one.

    What is that Trick?

I would expect the W90 and M17x to be able to trade blows now, they DO have the same GPUs afterall...... (the difference in amount of VRAM wont effect 3Dmark at al

Only thing that will seperate the 2 is the cooling and driver support

it's a monster. The whitebook should be in this also but the 4850 wasn't released to the public.

honestly if it was in this. It would be an ati disaster. Just neck and neck.

(btw, o think the whitebook would of won because of the way it is design to overclock but the stuttering and the heat would have been a problem.)

he only has you by what....1/20 of an fps (in reality) (in the world of benching - that's massive - lol)
    j/k

still both systems seem to be neck and neck now...for the time being...benching just gets better and better as the months progress...

The only reason the W90 has a monster score is due to the desktop CPU. You cannot compare apple and bananas...

I always wondered why the W90 was not doing as well as it should. The desktop chipset will absolutely help in better overclocking (a stronger NB chip - these got around/over 500 fsb with desktop cpu's.....SAME NB CHIPS) and PCI-e bandwidth (as well as Intel XTU should work)

Dam, the more I look into this the more interesting the W90 becomes!

Think it would be hard to swap my M17x for a W90? lol (jk, but would be fun)

(of course, is always an option if I cannot obtain 4870's for my M17x)

From a gaming standpoint the W90 always bothered me because of the 512 Vram .. At 1920x1080 your right on the verge and in some cases over the limit of 512.. had the screen been 1680x945 it would not have mattered as much..

For benchmarking(which is all you do with your machine :D) then it will be just fine ..

Its really not much bigger and certainly not heavier since the M17x is just a total HAWG for its size...

As for uglier.. Yeah while it was nice when i first had it compared to the M17x it wont hold a candle to it from a looks standpoint.. Though im sure there are plenty who would and do say the M17x is ugly ...

the thins is the x58 chipset is an i7 chipset. When putting a little laptop cpu in it. It can eat it if the voltage was there. It can hit 1333mhz on the fsb easily. Quad with your t9600 you hit 3.51hhz with 1333fsb.

dial hit 1600 on the fsb and the multiplier is 9.5x on the qx9300 that hit 4ghz. That is a voltage increase. I'm sure quad didn't do the setfsb at that time so i'm sure he maybe flash the bios with a desktop bios or some. Idk. I don't have the manchine.

all the qx9300 could not get 3 ghz or higher very easily 3.1 was the usual and was really good .... the e8345 hit 4.2 ghz on the other hand
