good luck. I got 5900 on my run with a single. But I guess I will also hop in that.

ill hop in too...as a spectator..haha...go team!
and can we get some superpi 1 & 32 meg runs and wprime for cpu speed. thanks guys. -
So the best I could manage with Drake's CPU bypass trick was a nice 16692 in 3DMark06. No GPU OC'ing - just CPU. Used Multiplier of x10 and FSB set at 1280. Mem I left alone at 1066 since I have the stock Dell 1066 memory. 9400M G disabled of course. 182.46 DOX driver.
Tried running Vantage but it kept locking up for some reason. I'll have to reinstall it since its still locking up even at default CPU clock.
Once Scook is up and running, he'll have to pass my 16692.Attached Files:

This is my current high with no GPU OCAttached Files:

I dont recall if GPUs were messed with - I dont believe so. Since then, was never able to come close. Until today.
@Drake: Aren't you playing with voltages?Attached Files:

wow i never pass 15900 i guess i have a bad driver

See now everybody is going to catch my scores. I need to keep my mouth shut.

Everyday tasks and the light gaming I do are fine and no issues there. Perhaps my cards just don't like being pushed. I also do not like NST. Hopefully they will update it soon. June 2009 is just a tad bit out of date.
I might give it another go with the 179 Dell driver (+ using Drake's CPU deal). Its old but it produced better #s for me than the 186 dell drivers. I think we will all agree, the 186.82 and 186.91 are not for benching... lol
-
That depends which of don's clocks your trying. He pushing them high right now plus with your CPU OC you going to need added cooling from a notebook cooler at the very least to stop the BSODs.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
you have to be in an controlled environment. If it is very warm the chances of those clocks working or slim.
I suggest 650/1625/1060 until you get some cooking. On the memory 1070 is fine also but 1080 is alittle suicidle. And don't run 1080 unless you know your gonna hit big.
also with sli 06 won't budge with overclocking much. I have tried it. But with a single card the score can go up to 1000 points. I don't know why either but just letting you know so you don't have to go threw all that trouble. -
.... Why does nobody listen? Set it up on a ac vent and go ....
-
He's also pushing 3.2Ghz on his QX9300. His temps are going to climb fast with OC'ed GPUs.
-
-
I tried his 650 core / 1060 mem / 1625 shader clocks. Also tried dropping them down from there - still crashed out or resulted in a lower score. -
Window units cost the same as the hyperx
or just go out side duh
I had mine on there and max temp was 22c I think ... -
It's a electrical thing ... Slow down the particles and you get a straight line bs them shooting all over the place which will cause instability
it's how I got my care 150 MHz faster then anyone else -
I thought about going outside...not going to happen.
Everything stock, single 4870.
(too big to use the attachment option)
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
wow, for all stock that is pretty good (I think?)
Aparently 6.3k GPU is the single card score to beat as set by Moo right? -
Pumped up the CPU but GPU is stock.
-
6257 if I remember correctly ... No os tweaks or anything
-
Didn't I get higher than that with my 280? It would take forever to search the old thread.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
yes you did. Moo was 6300 and you were 6500. But I have to see what I come up with stock and overclocked. Right now I AM restoring my drives. Hopefully it will hurry up.
batboy play with your system overclock. Make sure for vantage you disable fraps if you have that running. Also make sure you cleaned your drivers. That will help your overclock. Also you will see more of an improvement with vantage then 06 in gpu overclock when sli is enabled. If you run a single card then you will a big differnce in 06... -
I need to do os tweaks like y'all .... Would help me out quite a bit ...
But still the sheer power I had in my 260 was greater since I had less CPU and no tweaks ... -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Sure moo. I guess you saw earlier on with my benchmarking os vs my gaming os and how big the difference was. But I know your pretty good your self so I may not be much help
-
yea but Don your still 100000 times better them me .... i only get interested when i actually have someone going against me ... otherwise its just no fun.
Also all my runs were with Dox 182 driver since i cant download alot of them
BTW Don if you want to share some tips ill take them in a heart beat -
i think you guys are forgetting about ichime.... 7k single gpu 4870...hell..even viciousxusmc hit like 6500 or 6700 single 4870
-
ATI > Nvidia
so i cant really beat that -

Just tell me what the goal is, so I know what to aim for if this freaking motherboard ever comes in! (really don't want to but guess I will have to call the idiots again tomorrow
)
(was ordered LAST saturday - the 14th) -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
11min remaining to restore my benchmarking is. Then I have to make sure it's 100 percent like last time. Then
thanks moo. I sheded a couple tears. :*) -
tis is true quad and 6400 sounds about right.
seems that the w90 is king of the single card in vantage. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
this is hard. But I almost got it finished up. Just restoring the MBR for both os's...
the w90 is still hard core. People who has that machine should not give it up unless they have issues with it. -
the Asus is now unlocked and can easily hit 12k with the right hands
Its unique due to the x58 chipset ..... if the bios was modded to give the quads some more voltage it would more then likely surpass the M17x -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
it's up and running. I'm running some test.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
single gpu test stock
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
here's overclocked
-
Moo must have been spraying some liquid nitrogen to hit the scores he did on that 260m ...
-
they were maxing out @ 22 c
-
The GPUs max temp was that ??... -
yea
cpu was like 15c
i have a pretty powerful AC window unit -
Haha i guess so...
Middle of winter running the AC dying of pneumonia all in the name of Overclocking....
Sounds like something Don would do for sure..
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
lol yeah i would.
maxed out overclock on gpu
-
so close don so close
-
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Lol.
btw
