Ya, I see OC'ing as all or none ;)

I don't want to chase an obscure comparison point, but an overall score. NO offense lol

It would be nice to see more people joining in. The more people the more variety.

13K across in Vantage and 20K in 3DMark06.

Totally agree and would love to see those gaming performance matches rather than "synthetic" results. Well , I'll be sure to add few of my own when I'll get the system

I might sound lame , but if anyone has ARMA 2 , can you guys give me some feedback on how your "Alien" does under some heavy loads with that title ...

    Thanks in advance !

You'll get it back in a couple of months when you get your hands on the Mobility HD5870 DDR5's ... we're counting on it... ;)

We hope the below is true...

"The Mobility Radeon HD 5000 series is expected to be a direct translation of the desktop models and should have similar lines. At the top, the 5870, 5850 and 5830 will all have a very large 1,600 shader units (effects processors) and should support CrossFire on gaming-oriented desktop replacements. The top two will support fast GDDR5 memory while the 5830 will need GDDR3.

The 5770, 5750 and 5730 will all be close parallels to the 5800 graphics chips, including shaders and memory, but won't support CrossFire. At least one of the GDDR5 models should have a 1.3GHz memory clock speed."

if you can get it between 10c and 20c you maybe able to get to the next mark without extra voltage....hard to say where these spots start and stop at when dealing with extreme cold and cpu's....

My problem is my fans aren't going any faster because it's colder. If I can get my fans to start blowing this cold air faster it will go down. I'm surprised there's no key combo to do it.

can you use software to turn them on full speed?
or you'll have to improvise and just use an external fan.
matter of fact...use external fan with the bottom cover removed should give you plenty of cold air across the board/chips/nb/sb/cpu/gpus

I'll remove the bottom cover but it's already on top of my Cryo and this thing wasn't meant to blow too hard.

hehe got it booting maxed out. let's see if it can run 06.

GPUs and CPU currently in the 30C range.

Edit: 06 runs but I'm getting stuttering. That's never been an issue for me with 06.

My 1066 memory might hold me back though but it is the kingston HyperX 1066.. Dunno yet but either way im not complaining .. ill do some more testing tonight to see just how stable this is..

Allright guys, got all my grad school apps done and sent in and have a few weeks until I have to take the GRE, so now I've got a few weeks to get back to benching. :)

Am going to re-install Vista on a separate partition, as Windows 7 so far has gotten nowhere near the benchmark performance Vista got. Also, even with Drake's trick, still not getting the CPU as high as I was under Vista. So we'll see how it goes.

Be back in a while- and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
