can't look at it like that...you have to look at it as a tool to help you go further when need be..and it goes with any new machine you buy.. can cool a room or a desktop computer as well...it's an all around tool.

My CPU seems happiest at 3.07 with Mandrakes trick.. Booting and running basic tasks were fine at 3.2 but 06 crashed half way thru.... At 3.07 im just running the mulit OC FSB and RAM are at stock. Its still better then before so i may just settle for this ... 15993 was my best run 06 thus far...

This is under Vista64 though and i have not tried Win7 yet but will over the next couple days..

Maybe a thread of over 120 pages is a bit intimidating for people looking to join :) Do you think opening a new thread for gaming benchmarks ONLY would be a good idea?

Are you at least using a notebook cooler?

I don't think starting a new thread will draw more people in. :(

OK all, if I get the OK from a mod I will update the OP with the current results. So if you have a score that should be in the top 10 in Vantage or 06 PM me and I will try to sort it out. If someone has already been keeping track I will take any help you can offer. TIA!

I am not Drake but i may invest into one soon just to give it a whirl..

It was rather toasty in my room as well even though the CPU temps were moderately low..

1300/1300 did not even make it into windows but again it might just be the cooling not being sufficient..

cooling has slot to do with it. 3.212 isn't stable unless it is cool enough.

3.125 is fine all the time. 3.2ghz I can get away with unless it is scorching hot where I AM.

try getting it alittle cooler and see what you come up with.

Yeah ill probably invest into one also just to see if i can keep the GPU fans at bay ... They spin up pretty aggressive and it sounds like a typhoon in my room :D...

I have been running 1300/1300 for 2 days with only 1 lockup all that time (didn't even bsod). Has not been an issue in either 06 or Vantage though.

But I have my bottomcover removed, ram cover removed, and cryo cooling it all (with the upgraded fans, 3x Scythe SFF21G)

I have updated the Top 10 lists based on Mandrake's notes. Don (and anyone else), why aren't you in this list - PM me with links to your relevant posts and I will update the list. Reminder, to make it on the list, you must provide a screenshot showing your benchmark results when posting.

No more updates for today - Enjoy the holiday everyone!

i'm not on the list because even though I broke 12k my overrall score was p98??. sand my 06 score was 15200.

right now I AM focused on single vantage. I got 5500 stock. Which is pretty good from 5200. If I overclock on them I should hit some good numbers.

Not bad, moves you closer to me. If you OC your GPU's you'll be neck and neck with me.

The reason there are issue with the programs working for GPU OC is the cards block the apps from making changes to them. I tried about a half dozen and none worked. If you find one let me know.

lol. You do have a point. Just because you are showing off your laptop private areas by no means you have to do the same. Get warm by drinking something hot, wearing a coat, put on extra clothes like you are shoveling snow. :)
