The other one (variable) takes forever. We should stick to the fixed test.

 

OK here's the variable test. This is 8xAA w/Motion Blur on.

is the 70fps one a single or crossfire run?

i'm just seeing how crossfire and ski scales. I wish I was home to run test side by side.

nice. Yes. I have that demo as well. Also run re5 with no motion blue. Hoesntly I want to leave riight now so we can do side by side insttead of 20 pages comparions.

Do the fixed run. The variable runs take too long.

 

is you cpu stock?

 

ski isn't working for fixed. Do variable. And it might be the same for you where crossfire isn't working for fixed either. My 2nd card was just idling. I got 51fps. I will put it up in a few.

Must be, I doubt the cards would have a 20fps difference unless the Dox drivers are holding you back.

 

i'll go into my gaming os with 190.38 and see what's up.

I also mention the Dox drivers because I remember they sucked for games.

True. i'm max overclocking my cpu since the cpu matters. i'll do everything on no aa and 8 aa and see what up.

woah. That's high. I'm trying to run it now. When I press start it just shows the fps and it's all at 0. I may need to try a different driver.

At the risk of getting flamed here, in real world performance I hardly think the difference between Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad is big enough for gaming at least to justify the price increase (For gaming. Not encoding or something else).

I made this decision a few weeks ago based on benchmarks, its hard to justify 500$ when you get an extra few fps (which at this point are still over the VSYNC).

 

I'm doing it again with the same settings but using DX 10.1. Let's see what the difference is.

 

No flaming here. Each game will react differently also. RE5 is showing to really love the quad/fast procs but not all the games are like that.

It's long. Gives you time to do other stuff. I'm doing stock hardware, dx 10.1 on ultra right now.

Which drivers? Something is definitely wrong. Are you on the 9400?

 

The only thing I like about this benchmark is it allows me to specifically select DX 10.1

Hardware stock, DX10.1 on Ultra.

 

i'm on the 280m and sli is working. It could be my drivers or my cpu at 800mhz stock.

 

Bah, I don't miss testing the different drivers with the nVidia system. I'm running Cat 9.11 with everything right now.
