the new problem i am having is random bluescreens. i'll run vantage, 06 or any other game and it will run(not great)... then i'll try to watch a youtube video and bam. blue screen.
i restarted and tried to listen to music and bam. hit with the bsod again. i was on phone with a tech when it happened. and he just pasted it off like it was my fault.

How?!
They installed A03 remotely onto your system, and screwed everything up; you were amongst the few that wasn't having any real issues just a few weeks ago. Low and behold you turn to Dell for help regarding the DPC problem and they turn a stable system into an absolute train-wreck.
I am not impressed. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
hoesntly. dont ask me. i really dont know. i will see how they handle this though.
now that i think about it, after a03 was installed its been bluescreen like thats a key feature like parently control. -
what are the codes... just the stop error
you can always re push the 8800's to see what they can still do...
side note...
this is another great reason for big to get the nbd up and fully running.
so we can do by card types. that way we have more categories for people to shine in...regardless of having top of the line...or bottom of the barrel...everyone is represented in the end....just a thought. -
Should probably move this conversation to one of the many M17x issues threads and stay on topic with benchmarks, but blue screens seem to be the way forward with A03.
-
hummm..and if he wasn't blue screening....he would be benchmarking.
so it's on topic.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i would be benchmarking if i could but i will move it to another thread.
-
do you remember any of the codes?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
no. i dont have it on where it stays before it reboots. (i forgot how to set it that way.) i'll try to make it bluescreen though. i'll play a youtube video.
-
right click my computer or computer
click properties
click advanced system settings
click advanced
click start up and recovery
take the check out of restart -
... and my netbook points and laughs
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
ok. i just have to wait for the bsod....
nick
lol. even though its not working great. it is still a weapon (weight wise)
-
this netbook plays youtube videos...but my hp301 mini didn't..stutter/stutter/stutter
haha..it got sent back the next day. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
that's the atom one with the nvidia ion right?
i was thinking about getting one of those. -
that was exactly why i got...
it was a trick. i tried to play crysis on it and it failed..this one will play it..
it had more to do with the atom..that chip is not powerful at all. -
Kade Storm The Devil's Advocate
Yeah, that was quite a hyped up netbook - could manage to run some decent DX9 games at barely 'HD Ready' resolution, but the moment you kick in the other bottlenecks, the issue becomes blatantly obvious.
-
Yeah my netbook does ok for youtube, MSI wind that can overclock to 2.0 =)
-
Kade Storm The Devil's Advocate
Yeah, I had one of those for like 2 days, and got a very sweet offer, so I went for profit. I would like to get another, but right now, I already have two massive laptops and too many other priorities.
-
damn, and i havent even over clocked that one yet.
although it's in someone elses hands at the moment..when i get it back...let the over clocking begin.
msi wind ftw
hp301 ftl

Here here. . .
Anyway, could we have some ATi user do the new STALKER benchmark again? You know with the right drivers so the final test phase runs properly. -
would like to see that one as well....
-
Kade Storm The Devil's Advocate
It doesn't look very good, but the last phase - full global illumination and god-rays/sun-shafts. It was hilarious. All these cards were getting over 60 FPS average in the tests, and then the last part dragged them down to 26 average.
-
Whats the highest anyones had the Q9000 stable at? If anyone remembers?
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I think someone had it at 2.53 in an M17x
In the Asus W90 using the x38 chipset someone managed 2.8 though lol -
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
well since you maxed out the FSB in BIOS, time to pump it using NST on top of that
If it is stable, WHY STOP? -
NST to overclock it on an ATI system? (lol well..half ATI..)
[email protected] -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
good point, lol
still, nothing wrong with a 25% overclock in a laptop lol (although I guess we are around 33% on the qx9300!) -
Stupid sites that have stupid info !
And a brain that can't remember ! -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
the W90 was x38 Moo...x58 is core i7 which the W90 was NOT
Sorry
-
Im impressed how stable it is..
Is ur QX9300+4870CF score in ur sig with cpu also stock? -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
ya both of those 4870s scores are 100% stock
-
Q9000 @ 2.505Ghz
Still quite a bit lower then your QX9300 @ 2.533Ghz..lol Im only 28Mhz away!! Damnit! -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
also half the cache
I also have outstanding ram (lot better than the 1333 dell sends) as well as a very well tweaked OS -
Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
Keep trying, you'll get there !!!
-
I fixed it
-
lol.. heres a run at 2.4Ghz
105Mhz jump from 2.4 to 2.505Ghz gave me 747 extra 3Dmarks...thats 7.114 3dmarks Per 1Mhz..
So an extra 28Mhz would equate to another 199Marks..
total 14062 3Dmarks....oo its gettin interesting lol
-
Scook, have you done any Vantage runs or 3DMark06 runs yet with OCed CPU and GPUS? I'd be interested in where you can score now since you picked up the 4870's.
-
I was hitting >12k with a GTX 260M and M15x. You should have a much higher score with xfire. -
would that be stock or over clocked?
-
sorry...but 1280x800 isn't going to fly
it needs to be 1280x1024...but im sure you knew that...lol
and along with that...you can't speculate a 1280x800 against a 1280x1024...just not compatible in any way shape or form...
so..we'll use this one.
9800m gtx single card (mine) 13,648 (over clocked and out dated)
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=10334595 -
I've consistently measured 300-500 point difference max with 1280x800 vs 1280x1024. And a large chunk of your 9800m GTX (heavily oc'd and same G92 core) score is thanks to the CPU but I'm sure you already knew that. The point is, the x-fire score should be much higher than 13.8k. -
It's the q9000 holding him back.
-
His SM 2.0 score was pretty weak. -
Yes because of the proc. When adjusting different frequencies you'll see the sm 2 score move almost as much as the cpu score.
-
nope.
it's a tricky situation as to why my scores are high. and has far more to do with it being a quad, since my gpu scores are higher running dual core...
and now it seems that it runs with the ati cards as well..
say mandrake...you didn't notice this?
scook said it has the same effect from dual to quad on the 4870's? can you confirm? -
Ah didn't know that. Guess 06 needs to die already. -
Yes I did. I remember even talking about it here. It is the q9000 holding the score back.
-
yeah, im knowing that's what's holding him back. ati loves it's mhz!
you never got that dual/quad stuff to work huh?
nah joker...it's just another form of testing...just to throw some fps and numbers around.
wish more people had all the programs...then you can watch those fps fly!! from back in the day to present day.
