the new problem i am having is random bluescreens. i'll run vantage, 06 or any other game and it will run(not great)... then i'll try to watch a youtube video and bam. blue screen.

i restarted and tried to listen to music and bam. hit with the bsod again. i was on phone with a tech when it happened. and he just pasted it off like it was my fault.

    How?!

They installed A03 remotely onto your system, and screwed everything up; you were amongst the few that wasn't having any real issues just a few weeks ago. Low and behold you turn to Dell for help regarding the DPC problem and they turn a stable system into an absolute train-wreck.

    I am not impressed.

hoesntly. dont ask me. i really dont know. i will see how they handle this though.

now that i think about it, after a03 was installed its been bluescreen like thats a key feature like parently control.

what are the codes... just the stop error

you can always re push the 8800's to see what they can still do...:)

    side note...

this is another great reason for big to get the nbd up and fully running.
so we can do by card types. that way we have more categories for people to shine in...regardless of having top of the line...or bottom of the barrel...everyone is represented in the end....just a thought.

Should probably move this conversation to one of the many M17x issues threads and stay on topic with benchmarks, but blue screens seem to be the way forward with A03.

Yeah, that was quite a hyped up netbook - could manage to run some decent DX9 games at barely 'HD Ready' resolution, but the moment you kick in the other bottlenecks, the issue becomes blatantly obvious.

Anyway, could we have some ATi user do the new STALKER benchmark again? You know with the right drivers so the final test phase runs properly.

It doesn't look very good, but the last phase - full global illumination and god-rays/sun-shafts. It was hilarious. All these cards were getting over 60 FPS average in the tests, and then the last part dragged them down to 26 average.

In the Asus W90 using the x38 chipset someone managed 2.8 though lol

    105Mhz jump from 2.4 to 2.505Ghz gave me 747 extra 3Dmarks...thats 7.114 3dmarks Per 1Mhz..

So an extra 28Mhz would equate to another 199Marks..
total 14062 3Dmarks....oo its gettin interesting lol :D

Scook, have you done any Vantage runs or 3DMark06 runs yet with OCed CPU and GPUS? I'd be interested in where you can score now since you picked up the 4870's.

Overclocked of course but still, its a single card and a weaker one at that.

    3dmark06:

Subtract about 500 points from the 3dmark06 score since it was 1280x800 and you still end up with a score thats not too far from that X-fire one. That crossfire system should be at least hitting 15k-17k.

    sorry...but 1280x800 isn't going to fly
it needs to be 1280x1024...but im sure you knew that...lol

and along with that...you can't speculate a 1280x800 against a 1280x1024...just not compatible in any way shape or form...

    so..we'll use this one.
9800m gtx single card (mine) 13,648 (over clocked and out dated)

I've consistently measured 300-500 point difference max with 1280x800 vs 1280x1024. And a large chunk of your 9800m GTX (heavily oc'd and same G92 core) score is thanks to the CPU but I'm sure you already knew that. The point is, the x-fire score should be much higher than 13.8k.

Yes because of the proc. When adjusting different frequencies you'll see the sm 2 score move almost as much as the cpu score.

    nope.
it's a tricky situation as to why my scores are high. and has far more to do with it being a quad, since my gpu scores are higher running dual core... :)

and now it seems that it runs with the ati cards as well..

    say mandrake...you didn't notice this?
scook said it has the same effect from dual to quad on the 4870's? can you confirm?

you never got that dual/quad stuff to work huh?

nah joker...it's just another form of testing...just to throw some fps and numbers around.
wish more people had all the programs...then you can watch those fps fly!! from back in the day to present day.
