Hey guys- sorry, been away for a while.

Don, will try to get that run in for you soon.

Am trying out that whole Polyphasic sleep thing and started today, so the next week will be lots of zombie-like computer staring, which could be good for benchmarking.... :D

Technically yes. You can't just use a program and change the clocks. The only way you can OC in the M17x's 4870s is to reflash the VBIOS with higher clocks, as two people have already done.

So, can someone tell me why I cannot get Crysis to run benchmark? I've tried since Quadzilla requested this benchmarking.

I tried the full install and also the demo install. Both same result and does not bench.

1)I downloaded the Crysis benchmarking tool on the first page of this thread.

2)When I set the settings and hit the Benchmarking button, it takes me to the game scenerio and i'm able to play it. ...Can someone tell me a DETAIL step by step? I want to benchmark Crysis. Thanks in advance.

I remember there was two versions of the Crysis benchmark. Link the one you are running.

I wish I still had the system to give you the step by step detail. I can try it on my Thinkpad when I get home. When I was doing the benchmarking myself the only confusion was there were two versions of the benchmark.

I remember I had to install the game, get the latest patch for the game then install the benchmark. Nothing more than that.

I remember having some problems with the Crysis benchmarking tool. Have you tried running the Benchmark_GPU.bat and Benchmark_CPU-bat files in the Bin32 folder of the game? This benchmarks use the last config you used in-game.

Has anyone figured out how to OC those GPUs yet? They want it!

And what speed was your CPU for those runs?

Edited my post with CPU speed

Seriously though, I need to start tweaking the GPU. I had BaronGalf give me some info Using ATiTool , then edit it with RBE and flash it via usb dos boot. . ?????? I'm hella confuse. Isn't there a better and easier way to OC the GPU?

I'm also sure that once I upgrade the Ram and get SSD, my scores gonna sky rocket...lol

My brother is looking into buying an M17X but we have no idea what to get... The ATI cards or the GTX280M SLI?

For $100 and not benchmark records yet, not sure if it's worth it.

When are Mandrake and others going to post some bench with these new cards...???

I can't break 1000 on my memory for some reason. My screen just gets all different colors and even though the GPs goes up, I don't finish the run cause I don't know what's causing it.

Moo also wants some competition for single GPU scores if you get bored Don ;)

I will throw him some as soon as my new motherboard comes in....pretty sure it is killing off all my OC attempts as I am not getting adequate power to the GPUs/CPU without the battery being utilized properly

less than 1000 on memory is definitely weak sauce...the threshold is 1100

Call Dell for sure, mention the different colors part, not so much the not breaking 1000 MHz ;)

lol. Well of course. I'll call them. But I just want to be sure it's a bad memory. What I will do is stress it out more. It's alittle weird how it works.

I know I have moo to compete with as well. 6300 on vantage gpu I believe. I'm also putting up my ebook and safer for more compotition. I know it should be the m17x but we need some stuff to compare our scores.

    1) disable intergrated graphics in bios
    2) be sure sli is enabled
    3) all those mhighest scores in here are with qx9300 oc and gpus oc

i reached 16600 once with qx9300 set at 3.125ghz and no gpu overclock (this was on vista-win7 is another story)

I'm kind of surprised at the CPU score in 06 w/ the E8600. I would expect three times that score.

nope. my e8600 never broke 3000 in vista. but in w7 i did hit 3100 sometimes.

also i know more then i did before so that would help out alot.

and my cooling as on another level with the m17x and a t9300 vs a e8600 on the sager.

that will kill your over clock as well...unless the 280m's are suppose to run at 8x only
