*OFFICIAL* M17x Order Status Thread...

Yep its looking that way , cant wait till tomorrow .

 

I've been saving all these new games for it LOL, and my Falcon as I am doing the review video with my M17x... I have really saved everything for it, besides Warhammer Dawn of war 2 which I picked up 2 days ago, it's just too good to not play!

 

Butters what games did you pick up?

 

(I've been accumulating them) Devil maycry 4, Crysis Warhead, DW 2, ARMA II, Orange Box and then I have empire Total war which I've been saving (sort of)

 

Nice, the orange box is absolutely amazing. I personally loved portal. Tf2 was fun as all hell, and half life..I actually havent played..hehe. Dawn of war 2 is shipping to me now. Crysis warhead was awesome, i liked it more than crysis. ARMA 2? Hmm. I am looking for more FPS's and a racing game. Any ideas?

 

Armed Assault 2... and we are definitely playing some Warhammer... did you ever play any of the old Warhammer PC games, it's like those, total war, and the original dawn of war put together

EDIT: oh I also have GTAIV which I never finished, so I'm going to play it again on PC... although I have it for my PS3 as well

 

Hah i got to get my RTS skills back then. I used to play alot of W3 and SC. As for dawn of war, i was good at the first one, but lost interest with expansions, and my skill of course. Hopefully the new one will rekindle my interest, I used to play tabletop 40k . Not that nerdy, i swear. Now 40k tabletop, that was a real game. Place near me closed, wish I could still play. I went to alot of tournaments...won alot too. Too bad I painted so badly i just picked 1 color for each guy...

 

Clauss I use to do that and Mage knights back in the day... I'm not that nerdy either (well kinda)... those were good times, people weren't so analytical... anyway it really gives you the feeling of the warhammer universe... you have planets and zones on the planets which you fight on, and if you fail or wait too long the opposition on the planets grow, they gain support and control over the planet. You are constantly gaining new gear and equipment from salvaged enemies which you can equip.. it is really everything I wanted, not to mention kindles that old spirit... if you wan't I'll post up a small video showing how the game works compared to the old one

 

Nah its cool, im looking them up on my own. I miss my Aliatoc Eldar...Had so pathfinders/rangers...I miss the AP 1 rolls..my wraithguard of doom. 10 man squad of warp spiders mowing down marines. And of course the dark reapers...Ok back to order status..butters gets his tomorrow? same with quad?

 

Yea mine will be here for certain thanks to my some what wasted next day delivery lol. Its all good though im just glad ill have it at this point .

 

Well I can hope... our are in the same locations right now having shipped from Nashville tenesee at 6 am... I personally like my Marines (but new game basically has Zerg in it hahah)

 

Hehe my eldar would decimate your marines. Many of those power armored fools have fallen to my rangers.

With next day delivery its a different truck so hopefully it will get here early rather then later in the day.


As for Biscuits videos, i think im almost as excited to see those as getting my Rig haha.

Yea i think they have 3 different delivery services for next day, 2 day, then standard. The more i think about though biscuits you might not see yours till wednsday since monday was the official first day for shipping not sunday.

I have all my stuff waiting now so im happy . Processor and 500gig HD . Now i just need the extra HD adapter as i didnt have my service tag when Alienware emailed me back for it.

how easy it is to upgrade the GPUs on this machine? i think i might wait a bit and then upgrade when the graphics become "common" for me.

They must be speeding things up a bit on production. Dell just called me and said your system is in the final testing phase and will ship no latter than this Thursday or Friday with next business day delivery! Not too bad for ordering July 6th would'nt you say?

Congrats Hemi...yes, it does indeed seem like the initial teething problems has been resolved for the most part...definitely seeing systems shipped out en mass these days...which is evident from the amount of people here that's receiving their systems now!!

 

Yea when I initially ordered I specifically asked for an additional HDD bracket... and you know what they said, you will have to contact Alienware about that! LOL so I also need to call again and get the extra HDD Bracket... as for the CPU I know it will be easy, I'm just scared to open it up lol... once inside anything I do will be cake

 

HD and RAM are the easiest to change .... it only requires takeing out the battery and unscrewing 2 screws

Don't worry about it moo... I'm doing a video recording of how to install CPU... I'll make sure I also point on the GPU and heatsink, maybe I should replace the thermal paste on the GPU's for the hell of it?

Haha, mine says that too. I doubt it weighs .5 lbs. over the laptops actual weight.

 

No I have heard the box weighs like 20lbs... just thought it was odd... Obviously they mean the item (the laptop lol)

Something sure sped things up a bit, I ordered on July 9 with an EDD of August 10 (2 day shipping), checked earlier today (7/20) and was in production... checked when I got home from work and ... poof .... SHIPPED .... thats a bit earlier than expected ... just a bit

FYI. Mine is a Black, QX9300, WUXGA, 2x SSD, 4GB, BR ROM version . . .

 

Curious as to why people that ordered after me have shipped and I'm still in production....hmmm...

This is killing me, I still don't know if I should keep my M17x. I have another laptop on my mind that really makes this a hard decision.
